Every time I watch a video of yours, I pick up a nice pointer. I was completely forgetting the Laowa 7.5 lens correction. What a subtle yet big difference. Thanks!
Well that's good! I literally can make a million videos on this stuff. So much to learn and every day I learn something new. It's a fun journey. Thank you for your comment!
Thanks for all your sharing! This is very helpful. Doing all the experiments for us. I think the results were so similar that I would stick with the simplest set up. Keep up the great work! God bless ❤️
Hope it helped you! Thanks for watching. I appreciate you taking the time to leave me feedback!
Hi Joe, I really enjoyed and learned a lot from your flash video. They all worked out well and just goes to show that there is not any single solution. You were the first one to have done a video like this as far as I know and I’ve seen many other. Take care and have a great day.
Well hopefully it was easy to follow, and helpful. Thanks for always giving feedback. I appreciate it!
Omw i have never seen this gradient flash pop fill . And i love it. Will definitely explore that
Ya. I use that all the time now!
Great video, very helpful. I want to get into Real Estate photography and glad to see you are using an Olympus body, I have the EM1 Mark III and love the M43 system.
Awesome. Yep. I've been using Olympus for 3 years now. No intentions on ever changing. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for making this video
You're welcome:)
This was very helpful. I just did a test shoot at a property and was not overly impressed with my results. I will for sure try using a mag-sphere as my flashes seem to be very direct and harsh, I keep dealing them down but still has a very blown out look. I am very new to using flashes, I have used LED lighting for product photography and portraits but flash is a new monster.
You will get it! Just keep testing and practicing. I'm still learning and every house has its own challenges. I wish there was a one size fits all but keep trying new things. It will make you better!
Great video. A question not explained in most other videos is where are you exposing for when using flambient, the window? Thanks
You want to increase your Shutter until you are exposed properly for the window view, then add flash to balance the overall exposure.
Note: CPL (polarizing filter) loses you a few stops of light
Yes. I stopped using them. Flash takes care of glare for most part for me.
Excellent video! Have you ever used Paintshop Pro or Affinity Photo in your line of work? I'm thinking about transitioning from PSP to Affinity, but your videos have me thinking that I need Adobe Photoshop.
I have not, and honestly, I don't have the energy to learn a new software. Lol. Unless lightroom and photoshop cease to exist, I'm sticking with them. So easy to use. Thanks for the info though! I will check them out anyway :)
How do you remove yourself carrying umbrella from the picture to create a final image. Anyway nice video
You need to so a layer mask. That's why you do both sides. Use 1 to remove yourself from final image.
Joe, where is that big L bracket for the flash on camera? So you like a speed light as the key light at camera and the AD 200 as your mobile flash? could you leave the AD 200 on a stand and roam with a speed light just as easy?
I decided to go with this setup now because I was getting signal issues using bracket, but now I know why. But the flash is light weight compared to the ad200 that's why I run with this setup. I'm trying to be as mobile and fast on site as possible. Once I get to rooms that I don't need 2 flashes, I just keep the flash on camera shut off and use the ad200 for my flash pops. Always experimenting to find out what works best.
@@joefoto yeah me too, I want the tool bag of tricks. Sadly I don’t work enough to try a bunch of stuff
Mono pod with umbrella looks interesting
@@Media-oq9ux I would go with a cheap light stand instead of a monopod if money is an issue. I just happened to have a monopod and thought that would be better for a smaller footprint. But really, you only need an umbrella for dark and wood ceilings. Otherwise I'm running with the flash on camera and my flash in hand for everything else.
@@joefoto my very skilled young friend uses an Stu all the time, he says editing is easier. Small foot print makes me want to use my monopod. It gets zero use for 360 stuff 😁
@@Media-oq9ux I used to use a stu all the time too. But using my new method running 2 flashes and bouncing off ceiling is faster for me now than the umbrella method. And I can move quicker and do multiple rooms a lot faster. Just what I've personally discovered.
Did you have smudges on your lens? the photos look really hazy
I don't know. That was a long time ago.
