I'd love to see how the magmod does with a ceiling fan in the middle of the room vs using the round head. Would also love to see this same comparison in a more challenging room, like a room with very dark colors and some interesting ceiling geometry.

    FYI, Fresnel (pronounced fray-NEL)

Clients like it better when I say fres-null 🤷‍♂️

Hey Mike, how old is the magmod you are using? It appears to have a yellow tint compared to the others (at 3:39) When I compare mine (a month old) to a sheet of copy paper it looks a lot whiter .. may be that's why you are getting a slight green tinge in those shots.

The diffusion globe didn't get a hue correction like the mag mod did, I would imagine a warm color is better than a green color.

Hello, Mike. If there are no chandeliers or ceiling fans, then MagMod is the best.

Thanks so much for this super comparison. I was just going through what to get to serve between my speedlights and XPLOR600 and had settled on the AD200. Having decided upon it, I was wondering what would work best with it and speed up my post-production work and the MagMod is what I was thinking about. This settled it!

I'd love to see a comparison between MagMod Sphere and Godox 50cm or 65cm Lantern please

Could you test the Godox ML-CD15 with the Magmod? Thanks

It is going to be very similar and close to each other. More of a personal preference. However, the Godox ML-CD15 is cheaper.

Hey Mike! Hope you are doing well! I finally bought the Godox AD200 Pro, the power will be very useful, but now, I need the trigger. For years I've heard the Godox triggers can cause WB problems, and I know that you use a single pin one (I can't buy it from Portugal) to avoid that. But now I've read that the XPro II has a mode that isolates to one single pin when in manual, and that seems to resolve the WB problem. Do you have any feedback on this? Thanks!

Hey! Yes, I’ve heard the new xpro trigger has a way of getting around the issue but I still just use my single pin trigger and have not explored this for myself yet. Sorry that I don’t have any other info for you at the moment!

@@InsideRealEstatePhotography thanks Mike, I couldn't the find the single pin that you use, I just bought the XT2 for Nikon (I'm a Canon user), works great like a single pin 👌

I use the XPro II - S in legacy hotshoe mode and it negates the white balance intelligence confusion.

What light stand head are you using to make the flash aim vertical?

I tried the magmod. It works great as long as there are no ceiling fans or light fixtures. It makes really harsh shadows with ceiling fans due to the light coming out of the sides of the magmod. It works great though in rooms without those items.

This is a really practical insight with clear results. Thanks the MagMod definitely looks like the winner here.

Mike - great video and honest comparison. I also use a magbounce at eye level for flash pops pointed straight into the room with a magbounce as key light

I think the round head did a better job with the color of the sofa.

Like others have mentioned , the magmod will give crazy shadows to ceiling fans and lamps. When I use it I have to reposition the flash and composite them to mask out the shadows. Depends on the space but the magmod can even save you from lots of speedlight pops becsuse it does fill the room better.

I see you’re not angling the light back to bounce…method change? I’m using the round head with the MagMod…tuff to get the rubber ring on, but doable…plus, I use the head attachment only, on a mini monopod…fwiw…

    • @InsideRealEstatePhotography
      @InsideRealEstatePhotography  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Either Straight up or angled slightly back works best. I was using a stand which I normally don’t do.

The round head has lived on my AD200 since I bought it about a year ago. You can use the Mag Mod with it. Also I use the MagBounce for large rooms or rooms that don’t have a white ceiling. However it often gives me the gray shadows along the ceiling line so maybe I will pull out the MagSphere more often now! Thanks for the comparisons, I have all of these modifiers and heads.
