So glad to see you properly install the 'rings' with a tool and not a punch like I've seen done so many times in the past. I've paid 'Hacks' many years ago to setup my Samurai axles and have them not last To the point where I went with toyota axles and l and set them up myself. Good Job. I run 36" swampers on my '92 samurai for 20+ years no breakage.
I gave up and ordered a couple lockers. Not sure if they are going to last but I went with the Alibaba route. Time will tell, and I have spare diffs in case they do something really bad. Right now I plan on setting them up on some v-blocks and checking how true they are, and checking the critical diameters. Also going to give them a complete teardown and deburr, then we'll see what heppens.... I did go with the 22 spline fronts. I'm only running a 29" tire and mainly wanted the lockers to help on scrabbly climbs and low grip scenarios, so not expecting to be snapping the front axles but if it does, i'll just sell the locker and get a new one.
Thank you for bringing these lockers and axles ro my attention. They're a bit of a game changer in my eyes. Ill be watching for that discount code. What is the warranty like on the tre4x4 locker?
@@MonkeyWithAWrench I don’t have a duty cycle number, I run my rear on almost all the time. The amp draw is a hair over 1 amp, so they can’t make much heat. I’ll teach out and see if I can get a solid answer.
Hi, I'm waiting on my TRE elocker right now to swap out the mini spool on my rear axle. I've never done any work like this, I was wondering if I needed to order anything extra when replacing this? I'm using this as a chance to do the SJ410 backing plate mod and re-build my rear wheel bearings. Do I need a full differential rebuild kit? Can I get away with just getting two carrier side bearings if I'm not planning on replacing the pinion bearing? Will I need extra shims?
If your pinion bearings are ok then all you need are carrier bearings. I use longer bolts for the sj410 bearing retainers, stock ones are too short. New oil, lock tire, and RTV is all you should need besides that.
@@ultra4suzukisamurai679 Thanks! Do you happen to know the measurements on the longer bolts you use? I hadn't seen that anywhere yet. I think I'll just order a full rebuild kit as well as a solid spacer to be on the safe side.

When I’m being paid to do work for people I do my best to make everything right. Thanks for the kind words.
I sure want one of these front the front of mine! Thanks for the video!
I will have a discount code set up soon!

Watched the whole thing, great video.

The web site says there’s a 5 year warranty.
@@ultra4suzukisamurai679 thats not too shabby. I'll be ready when the code drops.
Great video. What is your thought on using a solid spacer with shims versus a crush collar?
@@brianb.2857 the solid pinion spacer is definitely better. We used the crush sleeves on this one because it doesn’t get abused and the small tires.
How happy have you been with the TRE E-Locker? I am contemplating getting one. Thanks.
@@brianb.2857 the lockers have been great! No issues and I use mine pretty hard. I sure don’t miss the clicks pops and bangs from the lock rights.
whats the duty cycle like on the magnet? If I plan on leaving these on all day am I better off with air lockers?
