Yes! Keep it simple! I go to games to escape stress and enjoy myself, and nothing infuriates me when I have to tinker when I'm not in the mood to tinker. I might have to wait and find out if some of the upcoming "flip format" handhelds are going to be supported by this bad boy. That would for real be the dream device combo for me.
Thanks for this. I just ordered a rg35xx plus specifically for playing Gameboy and Gameboy color. I might play some NES or SNES on it but less so any of the other emulators because I have other devices I'm already happy with for those. This video convinced me to use Min UI for the simplicity and custom boot screen. I keep seeing people mention a lack of settings but you just showed that all the things you really need are in here and the entire interface is just so clean and snappy. I can't wait to get this set up. The only feature I would have liked additional would be some kind of leaderboard/RetroAchievments integration. It's something I could live without but I feel like this OS actually would work well with something like that.
New Sub, Dryden, Mich. I just picked up 4 of these for my Daughters for Christmas, I am having a Hell of a time getting 128 gig sd cards working, This is Clean, but my younger 2 would really benefit from the Artwork. I personally want this for myself. Well Done!
It really is a breath of fresh air not having to deal with retroarch. As much as I miss some features. Like Overlays and Video Filters. The simplicity is so nice.
@Runslik3Wind The sped up audio sounds crazy to me. I wouldnt have fast forward on for the whole game just parts that are more repetitive and take long.
I personally dont like the sound being really fast so i like it muted but i do understand some people want to hear the sound and i dont think there is a setting to adjust that.
i have rg35xx may as well gonna install this on mine. one thing i would like to know, i noticed on ur description it said that battery indicator is inaccurate. does it mean that it cant show how many % in setting? do i have to plug it in when battery bar goes low and turn red?
Hey there, great video! Got an RG35XX and you convinced me to go with MinUI. I'd like to customize it a little like you did, though. How did you get the custom boot logo and charging animation?
I didn't remove any comments. I've heard of Fin Ui but haven't tried it myself. Im not sure it adds much besides search. I wish someone added some of the stuff people asked for. Like search, favorites, a gamepad tester, cheats, maybe like 5 overlays and 5 filters, and maybe a small options menu on the main menu. Then this OS would be perfect
Looks like a copy/mimic of the analog pocket OS. Coming from the RG 351V, I was disappointed to see that the XX doesn’t allow AmberElecOS. This seems like a good option for those who don’t want GarlicOS.
I actually have a rg351v and as much as I like the all the features of arkos I wish it had this device's shutdown quick resume features. To me, that's what really holds this handheld so good and pick up and play.
@godvonorim Ide like to see a fork of Min UI that has an option to view just the boxart and the name of the game instead of the gameslist kinda like how the super pocket is. I think its still really minimal and people would enjoy it

No gyro unfortunately theres isnt but people have made rom patches to change gyro controls to normal d pad controls. Not the same unfortunately but its there.
Garlic lacks alot of things from stock. Gamepad test, a settings menu, search, ease of use with menu button, changing date and time, changing background and icons easily, language, sleep.
Thanks for sharing. Stock actually has alot going for it. Its the only os with native search. Its got favorites. Hdmi works good. Its fairly simple. You get a gamepad tester. Its perfectly usable and I can see why people like it.
Great question. Yes its does support controllers. You will need a special cable those. Its an otg usb c to female usb a. Ideally one with multiple inputs for your controller. I will be making a video soon about this and the hdmi functionality basically how to consolize this thing.

It's a logic behavior that this OS is faster. Less customization = Faster booting. But it lacks a lot of features like cheat system and other things.
