I love the immersion in these missions, with stuff happening at the airport and around you that is not immediately part of the mission. This also illustrates one thing about the "dots" - they are visible through clouds to some extent. I wish that wasn't the case, and they'd just increase visibility of objects already visible. Still, awesome flying and handling the added challenge of the new clouds on an old mission!
and don't worry about that slipup with the rockets. You never know when the CAS BREAK is gonna show it's face. Nice try saving it by switching to Guns tho. Edit: Wanted to add. You could have your wingmen engage targets too y'know. Could even have individual wingmen do it.
With engine 2, look at your Fire Handles 😉 It happened to me few months ago, on a training mission I set over Persian Gulf map.. it was meant to be a long flight from Bandar Abbas to Lavan Island, passing over Qeshm, Kish, Bandar Lengeh and Havadarya, with a flying over some training range I made (which appears to be a real life shooting range, according to sat view.. on coast just north of Qeshm Island Airfield, we can see some rounds and whatappears to be sand dunes looking like a target practice). Ended up landing at Qeshm cause "Engine 1 failure".. appearing to be only done by the fire extinguisher I accidentally activate on engine 1. P.S: really good and immersive mission. And nice hawg flying, mate 😎
i like how in 1:15 and 1:20 the narrator says break, but he doesnt actually break in case you dont know, 2 people cant talk simultaneously on the radio, so we have breaks in long messages to allow other people to get on comms. before the break in transmission we say "break" to indicate other people that theres gonna be a break. although the narrator says "break", you can hear the radio still buzzing meaning he didnt clear comms
That's not accurate, the scripting is awkward IMO, but it's also an acceptable use of break. Usually aviation and military terminology use "break" to indicate a change in the addressed audience within the same communication. For example, ATC might issue two instructions like: "HAWG 1-3 cleared for takeoff fly straight out BREAK Uzi 1-1 proceed to the initial report initial". BREAK is usually used to join multiple "thoughts" into one transmission. OVER is "I'm done transmitting someone else can go", that isn't frequently used in aviation anymore except for certain VHF transmissions that will have dubious quality, but might have more use in the military.
My second playthrough of this was just after 2.7 and the clouds were a huge problem, since they didn’t move at the time, I just adjusted the cloud base. I found many missions had the same issues with the clouds being on the deck.
Yeah for sure, it ended up working out pretty well on this mission but we'll see how it goes as the campaign progresses. I'm not exaggerating when I say I forgot how demanding and nonstop this campaign is
I play the standalone version on a laptop but seem to be missing a lot of the supposed settings for the clouds and am unable to change cloud presets and it has been quite annoying as this by far has become my favourite game, dose anyone know why this might be? Would greatly appreciate any help :)
@@clayblaze1327 You can edit the cloud setup from the mission editor. As far as visuals for the clouds, those are configured in the settings for the game
@@RaptorRising yeah thanks, I’ve got my setting up on ultra and I can adjust the cloud base but I’ve looked a bit on the ed forums and the cloud presets seems to be something that’s fairly prevalent but not my situation exactly with there not being any Ok box to select the presets, thank you though!
@@RaptorRising Any more A-10 missions planned? Esp. love it when you start with a bit of DEAD element. Interesting what the actual tactics are, like, how suppressed is it supposed to be by the time the Hogs step in?
Yeah, more piercing fury coming soon! It makes sense you'd want to sanitize the area as much as possible, but I don't think you'd see A-10s operating in areas with heavy radar same threats. I think the most they would push would probably be short range threats like the SA8 or SA13, maybe an SA15 if it's known where it is, the A-10 could work near it but certainly not against it
It was updated pretty recently! A lot of those should be fixed. However, you can just skip the ones that are messed up. So far, I've run into about 4 of them that didn't work right, but that was before someone updated the campaign again.
Thanks RR, found the update and flew the first and second mission ok but the co-ordinates for the downed pilot in mission two appear to be incorrect, they sent me in the opposite direction. Keep up the videos they are a great help into mastering the Hog. 👍
It’s part of the Military Phonetic number system and done to prevent confusion on what’s being transmitted over the radio. Most numbers are transmitted with slightly altered pronunciation, 1= wun, 2 = too, 3=tree, 4= fower, 5= fife and so on. Not typically used much in DCS
LOL I called it persian freedom, my bad all!

Yeah, and they weren't even that useful for this mission. I may disable them in the next mission
One of my favorite missions, good execution on the mission!
Are you the famous ranger79, the developer of this fine campaign? If you are, thanks for all the hard work and hours of entertainment!
@@RaptorRising I wouldn't say famous, but yes this was my baby, glad you like it!
Phenomenal work. Thank you!
Also I just wanna say. You are an EXCELLENT Hog pilot. You'd make the AF proud.

@@SPFLDAngler I hear you and if I had a real wingman I'd definitely use them, but the AI can hold you back a bit sometimes

I'm usually pure F-16 but I have to admit, that was a lot of fun!☺

Tough mission that gives a good idea what it's like.
Yeah, absolutely action packed and lots to manage the whole time!

ace mission , loved it

Those clouds are ridiculous. Who thought to put them that low? That's not how clouds work...
The cloud bottoms can certainly be that low. More common in some areas than others.
did you ask for the manpad sweep before landing ?
Of course! They basically throw that at you every time
I have had the same issue where 1 engine just goes out/brakes. No idea why. Happened twice
In this campaign or just in general?
@@RaptorRising Mission 1 and 2 when i was playing with a friend.
I'm wondering if a random % chance of failure or some other kind of bug or setting did it then, we may have been trolled! Lol
@@RaptorRising Yeah. Will need to check the files
Hi, Is this Campaign still available, I don’t see it on the ED DCS website ?
Check the user files for it, it's available to download there.
