You really love the minor second!!!! 3:03 C# and D! Even with the Frost Giant pounding down the door and everything else in this piece, for some reason that moment feels like a focal point. I may be one of the few that find the minor second harmony uplifting. Excellent first movement! Love the harpsichord/piano/giants crashing down the walls of the castle sections. The rising string and brass melodies are amazing!!! The darker theme that comes in at 2:30 ... 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Is this a new work? Very dramatic with the drums, chimes and bass notes in the piano. Strings give it that eerie quality while the reed instrument and horns make a statement. Beautifully written and rendered, Stefan! I look forward to hearing the other movements.
Diese Komposition ist, gerade auch in ihrer Bildhaftigkeit, in der Spannung, die sie auslöst, meisterhaft, Stefan! 😊 Das Bedrohliche, das sich ankündigt, sich nähert, immer wieder seine Vorboten vorstoßen lässt, sie dann wieder zurückzieht. Zwischendurch scheint kurz ein Gefühl der Hoffnung aufzukeimen, emporstrebend, das sich aber seiner selbst nie ganz sicher zu sein scheint, von einem angespannten Getriebensein gekennzeichnet bleibt und dann in sich zusammenfällt bis für einen kurzen Augenblick nur Stille bleibt, bis die nahende Bedrohung sich wieder zu erkennen gibt… WolfgangVedral hat hier bereits kommentiert, dass es eine großartig intensive Komposition ist. Dem kann ich mich uneingeschränkt anschließen! Ein großartiges und unglaublich intensives Erlebnis, diesen 1. Satz der 6. hören zu dürfen!!!

Das Intervall ist eine kleine Sexte (ich denke du meinst die Posaunen), wobei der untere Ton um einen Viertelton erhöht ist und der obere um einen Viertelton erniedrigt; mathematisch zwar eine Quinte, aber das Blech mit seinen Naturtönen spielt ja nicht per se gleichstufig temperiert, so dass eine "schiefe" Quinte dabei herauskommt. Auch dir einen schönen Sonntag!

Mein Prof fand das doof, aber ich blieb dabei. Einer Musik eine emotionale Höranleitung mitzugeben, entwickelte sich - wenn ich das richtig sehe - erst im Laufe der Moderne im 20. Jahrhundert. Um die Musik im Hinblick auf den Komponisten zu verstehen bedurfte es bis dahin Kenntnisse über dessen Biografie (besonders deutlich z.B. im Fall Schostakowitsch). Aber die Komponisten hätten solche Kenntnisse nie zur Voraussetzung gemacht, um deren Musik zu hören. Die Freiheit der Rezeption darf in der Kunst Raum haben. Eine gewisse Kongruenz wird ohnehin aus sich heraus entstehen. Jedenfalls ist das meine Sicht.
