Did the same job on my 2015 Sonata. It had lots of tabs broken. A screw on the front, another on the back, all very secure. Just locate and drill into a hard part to secure to. Only if you look closely do you see the screws and who looks there? Excellent video.

GMC refused to warranty my broken seat side panel on my Acadia with 18,000 miles. Said it was normal wear and tear. Then wanted to fix it for $270. Thank you for your 5 minute fix for less than $1. You are awesome.
Oh, they also said I was probably getting in and out of vehicle improperly, I asked service manager to show me the directions in the vehicle manual but of course he could not.

John Hazen LOL I have to say you are so much like me it is not funny and how you dealt with the Service Manager,...your comment made laugh hard, and I have to say my friend I needed a good laugh right then, especially about the part where you asked the service manager to show you the directions in the manual how to properly get into your car..do you mind if I share this story with our many subscribers as it is so like the Stealerships to act this way :) thanks Mike

Ah yes this comment makes me think this is a GMC problem bc both side panels on my 2008 Cadillac STS came off around 70,000 miles

Never take your car to the dealership. Every one is dishonest. They charge about triple more than a local mechanic. And, frequently, they will scam you by doing shoddy work or not doing it at all! It's not as if the mechanics at a dealership go to a different trade school.

You could put a little bit of duct seal over the screw, to fill in the phillips head, and then paint it. It looks really good!

Sweet Project Cars I am really excited, hubby is out of town and I can fix this before he comes home. I think it will make him very happy! I assumed I had to buy a new plastic thing, in fact was watching videos to see what the heck it is called in order to get a new one!

I can guarantee you this, if you were to go sell the car no one would notice the painted screw head vs. the cover dangling down by your ankles. If you want perfect, then head on down to your dealership where they will replace it with the same thing that will eventually break again. Thanks. mad Mike

Irene Smith oh this makes me smile! I spent several minutes trying to figure out the part name so I could replace, and was hoping to find a video on how to replace it, only to find how to fix it. Mine is a 2007, first the passenger side went. We paid Cadillac to replace. Now I know I can fix both of them, because the passenger one is broken again, and now the drivers side! I love TH-cam for this type of thing.

I am considering a similar method.... I have to take the seat out anyway (the car is in desperate need of shampoo and deep cleaning) so I am thinking of figuring out a way to zip tie it from the back of the panel to the door frame. If that doesn't pan out i will be doing this.

This video is the closest to what I am looking for but, I want to take this panel off. My problem is a portion of the thing that snaps broke. I have a trailblazer. I have already purchased the part but, I have having difficulties getting the knobs disconnected so that I can put the new panel on. I hesitate pulling them too hard for fear that I might break them. Does anyone have an idea as to how I can get the knobs disconnected? Sure would appreciate the information. Thank you in advance.!

Here's a good idea for you my friend, run it into a Chevrolet dealership, and ask the service manager how to remove the knobs in question. 99% of the time, they are very good at helping with something like that. Thank you for watching and asking, have a fantastic week, and all the best on your project Lynne. mad Mike & team
