I did forget to mention the Agony Quad Cannons in the video, but they're a clone of the existing Phaser Quad Cannons. You CAN NOT use both Quad Cannons at the same time. So choose whichever one you like the visual of more.
lol I luv that you still have it asymmetrical. I always thought the Pilot Warship Defiant should've had an innate Battle Cloak since it's "Legendary" but it's still a beast. Adamant's Temporal makes canonical sense to me since it's Terran. The only thing I had remembered about that Jovian Raider was to me it looked like a claw. Nice video & nice explanations.
Great job Spencer! Very helpful! I really likedyour side by side comparison of stations, setup, etc and which specific builds suit each “defiant”. Also, thx for commenting on value vs jovian.
This ship is alot of fun. Between the Battle Cloak and actually being able to use Rapid Fire insteat of CSV and feel good about it. Decloak in the rear arc and cannons away! Awesome vid!
Great vids as always.....I'm a defiant nut so I will always get any new version they drop. That being said the LEG defiant and fleet t6 are my favorites, they crush targets in either CSV or CRF.
Great review. Especially appreciate the explanation of the console mechanics. On the less elite side, I think it will be great when breaking right on a PUG ISA with a BO/CRF build - target the transformer, activate the console and the nanite wotsits plus the cube and spheres should all start popping whilst you pump 133% damage on the transformer.
Good stuff! Great, simple comparison of the two Defiants… now, if they would only release that Legendary Bug ship, for that sweet, sweet Go For The Kill account unlock (passed on the Mudd bundle, myself).
Quite the ship, I gotta say. As far as appearances go, I did notice the clipping issues. Seems to be a problem with a lot of the newer ships, though I found that the adamant nose goes quite well with the Valiant hull and nacelles.
Thanks Spenec.. another informative Vid.😎😎.. I had a stack T6 coupons just waiting for something worth getting/ I liked in the zen store.. So I got this 1 & the Sci ship to play around with
The ship is good, but I prefer my pilot warship because It can give and take a punch. I do however use the experimental weapon for space barbie, since they're the closest thing to the quad quantum torpedoes from the show.
Ive been enjoying your videos for some time now. I love your mathematical approach to the game. Im quite new to pushing your ship to its limits for dps. And ive been wondering: Ive got the T6 Prometheus(Hestia). Its been serving me pretty well and i love it, but id like to know if it is objectivly a good ship? And if the multivectormode is viable or not. Obvly i dont expect you to calculate it, but rather to judge it by your experience. Either way. I wish you a good day, sir. Live long and prosper!
the console is nice. broke my record by big margin from it. the inertia buff is game changer on my lego vorcha. that was main issue with lego vorcha sliding away transformers out of flanking or on rare occasion sliding into my heavy plas torps . i tried to make terran trailblazer work as torp boat but dont have much sci experience. looking forward to your take on it. was thinking the sci stuff might out dps the lego vorcha but i couldnt make terran trailblazer work.
So I have one of these, it’s great for surgical strike builds. Also I changed out the experimental with the hex canon from the Achilles until they nerf it for now it hits like a truck!
wonder how it would stand against the t6 tactical escort( defiant not legendary). I could not justify the legendary bundle's price tag when I had t6 versions on what was in that pack already.
The Adamant should beat the standard T6 Defiant. Many years have passed since the original T6 was released, and the standards for the stats c-store ships have is much better nowadays.
The first T6 Defiant they released has it, the "Valiant" sto.fandom.com/wiki/Valiant_Tactical_Escort Alternatively, you can also get the Quantum Warhead from the Legendary Defiant in the 10th Anniversary Bundle.
It's got some great boff buffs and an awesome console so you'll get a little more oomph out of your weapon slots over the legendary prime variant. You'll also see enemies around your prime target melt with the console at once every 2 minutes which is a super niche ability at best given the long cooldown. It's not so good a ship for mines as its got only 1 free aft slot so cannot instant pop advanced tfo tac cubes with mines like the legendary prime variant. Also it cannot launch runabouts (triggering cold hearted) like the prime can either lol. So for flavour and performance reasons, I choose the prime defiant.
Scatter Volley can certainly do well on the Adamant if that's what you want to do. I generally don't push cloaking too much when showing off a build as most are not on Romulans, so the cloak has minimal impact for them. But if you have the boffs on your Romulan to take advantage of the cloak, then it'll certainly help this ship vs the Legendary version.
The Adamant has a battle cloak integrated right into the ship. Which was what I said in the video... The prior versions of the ship could get a cloak by slotting a console, and a battle cloak by slotting a 3pc. Whereas Adamant doesn't have to do any of that.
I still feel that the adamant is lacking weapons should have least 2 aft weapons I always run one mine tho eh I like the black out blade mines now just need black out blade torpedo yea I know better mines out there and I don’t notice any black out effect from the mines after shot down as they approach
Howdy Rick, I have an example Phaser CSV build over on the Inquiry here: th-cam.com/video/qtzb2zhAWfs/w-d-xo.html I'd say a good chunk of that should easily transfer over to other ships. Will be doing a proper guide at some point in the future, but will be some time.
@@CasualSAB Thanks, I was primarily looking for a build for the Legendary Defiant. That's my go to ship. I don't use to many others. I've tried them all pretty much, but I always end up back in my Defiant.
I have the adamant. I think it loses too much damage from just being 5/1 . 5/3 is your best bet if you want a high dps build. It will still do advanced content. Even though it's a bit squishy if you take on too much at once. The experimental weapon doesn't make up for losing 2 rear weapons which are usually slotted with 360 weapons and get all the bonuses of your abilities. And yes it might get flanking bonus damage....but sto is such that by the time you fly around to someone's arc if you haven't luckily landed on it, someone else has killed that ship. Hahah. So the flanking bonuses are nice but... escorts over all becoming kinda useless with all these new things which fit canons Like battlecruisers. Might not turn good but they don't need too and with enough power to engines you can get most ships to 24 speed which gives you the max defense rating from speed. The defense rating built into escorts just doesn't counter all the cool stuff cruisers get.
Legendary Pilot > Terran Adamant Yes the console is great (broken) but the devs are patching that soon. Agony quad cannons are a nice to have but not vital at all.
As I said in the Video, per what Borticus had said on Twitter last week, that is how the console already worked. It was just a matter of updating the tooltip.
So follow up comment...the console from this ship is OP AF!!!!!!! I smell major nerf. Pretty sure it stacked with another team member on the run....holy crap!!!!!!! Thoughts?
The fixes that were supposed to go live with the last patch seem to have not. But yeah, the console is insane, and should still be very potent once fixes go live.
@@wargodsix its an experimental weapon slot. The valiant is 4/3 weapons layout if i remember correctly. This vid goes pretty in depth about the tradeoff of the weapon slots you mentioned in your comment, you should watch the vid.
wow 1 bil for a lockbox ship now? shit kinda glad I am happy with my ship when I log in every now and then I got my must slot carrier traits and some dicking around ones and I guess I am just done with anything that isnt a story update

Thumbnail is great! The comparison was cool too
Very nice video I enjoyed the comparisons between the two defiants
im using this ship now for my Reman toon with decloak bonus and BO build, pretty happy with it.

I'm with you! I picked it up one of those times it came out cheap but it means I can only ever CRF on one toon.
The Adamant is a near-direct clone of the ouroboros temporal raider.
i like the adamant for the heavy weapon it come with it looks like its fireing dual torpedoes like the one in the ds9 series does
Awesome vid Spincer

I agree the pilot warship can put out damage and take it. The Adamant can put out damage but is very squishy when it is under fire.

that's funny because the t4 and the T6 came with a cloak so no you're wrong it's not the only defiant class to come with a cloak on the Zen store
