As someone who is living in nyc in their 20s too, I personally feel like sometimes we miss the beauty of days when we accomplish nothing. A healthy balance should to be found between looking for the next thing to chase and marinating in the joy and peacefulness around you when times are tranquil.

I completely understand what you're saying as I approach 30 and see all my friends and family getting married and having kids. Even if you feel stagnant I just want you to know that your content and this podcast series has brought me a lot of comfort and brightens my day.

i love the flirting(?) from james LOL and the way sarah responds back cracks me up. like when he’s like “you’re a Chinese delicacy” and sarah goes “oop- ” or he says “like you” when she talks about the egg yolk being thick and dense, and she’s like “thank u” 😹🤚🏼

I love this episode! I have struggled (and still am) so much with feeling lost in my 20s. My life turned completely on its head in the past 4 years. I spent 6 years in college, only to learn that I don't actually want to be in that profession at all. I've been testing on new paths, but its been rough. I question my pursope in life -- I often get wayyyy too exisitential about it lol. Some moments the freedom and flexibility of this part of my life can be exciting and fun, however, most of the time its overwhelming and confusing. Feeling lost is hard, because no one has the answer for what you should do to truly feel like you've found your footing. Its something you can only find by stumbling through the darkness and banging you shins on random crap along the way lol.

hiii,n so i have been watching your podcasts since the third one came out and they're truly the highlight of my week. Surprisingly, I was unfamiliar with you as a creator, and I love that I found such a genuine and cozy corner of the internet to share with you! Thank you for keeping me company during one of the hardest transitions in my life, and for your takes on prevalent conundrums in my own personal life as an asian american in their 20s. It can be easy to bump into influencers and youtubers that fall into speaking about the same stereotypes that are widespread for every asian american young person usually, but its rare to find people bridging that surface level connection with vulnerability and allowing themselves to be honest about how they feel and how theyve navigated things. Its an awesome thing to come across. Thank you again sarah!!

I found this podcast not too long ago and it's really highlighted a journey I've been taking. I'm only 22 soon to be 23 in a couple months but I've noticed a gnawing feeling of that "being lost" idea. The thing I'm realizing is that we spend so much time rationalizing our goals, feelings, and actions that we lose sight of actually doing things. What's worked for me is "doing". I can spend as much time in my head thinking of solutions but since I struggle with anxiety that's always a double-edged sword.
For example, I feel lonely = I go to a bar or walk or basketball court or meditate
Another example, feeling aimless = listen to music or read a book or go to a state park
At the end, taking action isn't as easy as it sounds and that's the journey I've been on. Letting go and taking action

omg the moment James says movies about being young and lost, i literally whispered to myself pls say Frances Ha and i'm SO HAPPY that's one of them!! it's a north star, it makes people feel seen and liberated i promise. Also before trilogy is so iconic and it's interesting which series people pick in the trilogy actually says a lot about the personality ahaha, my friend constantly argue between sunrise vs sunset cuz we're so different. Talk more about movies James PLEASE!!! 🥳

I finished watching the worst person in the world and just finished crying from it 🤧 Dont want to spoil anything but I was pleasantly surprised with the way indecisiveness was portrayed in the film and was hyperfocused on the dialogue chosen when talking about specific topics. Thank you for the rec! Hope you keep them going :)

It’s always reassuring to know this is a universal feeling, one which I have definitely felt for several years now. I definitely agree that being kinder on ourselves, viewing life as a marathon and not a sprint, and generally enjoying the process of day to day life seems to help alleviate the existential dread we’re all feeling 😅 I haven’t watched any of the movies, but I’m looking forward to them! Thanks for the insight as always and here’s to enjoying the process 🧃🍷

Thank you so much for the video. It really feels like divine timing to see this right now.
Sorry if this is kind of ranty but I honestly don't have much of a support group I can be honest with besides my husband right now.3
I do feel quite lost in my 20s right now, which is funny since I'm only 21. I'm pretty happy with the direction my life is going overall. I married the love of my life last year and now we're expecting a baby boy a year later. He is in the military and we recently moved across country (literally). I left my job as a licensed insurance agent due to moving and now it's been almost 3 months since we moved to the new state and I don't want have a job. I've been looking on an off, but haven't really committed since I'm still getting the house together. I'm also nervous about being 7 months pregnant and it feels weird starting a job then going on maternity leave right after. I'm so grateful for my husband and the support he is giving me. Encouraging me to just focus on keeping myself, the baby, and him healthy. It feels nice to not have to worry about sales goals and such but I also miss the extra income.
There's so much change going on in my life so I feel kind of lost with everything right now. I really needed this video Sarah and I'm so grateful for the amazing thought provoking and inspiring content ❤️
To anyone else who is feeling lost YOU ARE NOT ALONE! We'll make it through this life and each find our path to success in our ways❤️❤️

i really love your podcast and i think you could improve it so much with a bit of editing or being more concise. i would never be able to start a podcast, let alone one as successful as your is considering its very early in your journey and you should be so proud of yourself for coming up with unique perspectives so consistently.
