Graphically the n64 was far more powerful than the ps1. It just didn't have the storage space to hold game data. The ps1 had large capacity discs but it was much slower than the n64 carts.

N64 was an entire generation ahead (64bit compared to 32bit) double the ram (4mb compared to 2mb), which doubled again (8mb) with expansion packs.
PlayStation could draw one hundred eighty thousand textured polys per second - N64 could draw *one million*
You're absolutely right about the real difference being format and not hardware 🍻
On top of that N64 emulators are quite a lot harder to run than PS1 emulators.
My favorites are Retroarch,Reidream,AetherSx2 and Drastic are my favorites
Should also mention redream for the Sega Dreamcast! I think it has one of the best UIs out of Any emulator out there!

Redream wont work on fold 4 maybe its my android version
Redream free only gives you one save state and it's prone to crashes on certain phones. You may get weird slowdowns or issues with certain games(like a perfectly smooth Soul Calibur and Last Blade 2 with hiccups and a perfectly smooth again SF3). But that's emulation fro you. Limiting save states suck though.
For anyone struggling to find original console BIOS files, there's open source versions of BIOS files for popular consoles too that are easier to find. I've used the PS2 one and the emulator accepted it without any issues.

PS2 games can be large in size although the type C usb drive idea is useful but you would still have to keep to the essential games to keep the size down, I'll probably look into that
I jus put the extras on my Samsung t5 ssd
I have a 128 gb phone and the file sizes of are like less then 2 gb so it never is an issue for me

heres a tip, vimms lair is the safest site for roms. i have even downloaded games without antivirus on one occasion. there are other sites with more platforms but they are all dodgy as hell

Call me crazy but it seems like we are starting to get to a point in time where it will soon become a cheaper and higher quality option to just buy an old mid-range to flagship smartphone at a steep discount, and then use that to run an endless amount of emulators on it from multiple consoles. Rn I’m trying to decide between picking a vita or a 3DS to homebrew but they are both roughly $120 on the cheaper end to pick up and they aren’t necessarily in the best condition on top of being limited to what it can emulate. You get yourself and older flagship android tho and yeah it might be a bit steeper rn but it’s going to be able to emulate EVERYTHING with what will likely be a considerably higher quality. I do genuinely think the future of PORTABLE gaming is on smartphones and we are creeping ever closer every single year and it lowkey excites me. I think it will get to a point where it will force gaming companies to push out considerably higher quality portable consoles at the right prices for a chance to compete.
Old flagships are awesome and can run pretty much anything you throw at em, and you can keep them up to date with custom roms

Do you use any cooler for your phone while gaming? I'm using my previous phone with a controller for emulating psp ds and other platforms. The battery temp also reached 40 C when using for gaming for 2 hours or so. Do you use any cooler for the phone? How do you face it? Thanks

Drastic emulator is my favorite emulator for Android.
I am in love with these GBA, SEGA, SUPER NES games. I was a kid right as classic NES was popular but never had the chance to enjoy SEGA games as only a handfull of kids had those and never even played GBA games but man is it so so much better than any modern mobile game. I haven't payed any games for years because of adds and excessive hand holding in game play. I mean come on, last mobile gamee I palyed had me go through a tutorial about gun upgrades before I even had the chance to play the game and shoot the guns. Classics are just pure joy.

gamecube dolphin emulator is great! also the wii... its getting confusing for me for swing remote on phone like i played the game called: tales of symphonia (second sequel) its strange that it use for minigame called boss garuda in asgard (chapter 1), but i found the solution that i used my earphone in the 3 buttons for swing remote

Not only AetherSX2 is best emulator but honestly only one what worked for me. Also others required you to actually pay or some shit similar to that
AetherSX2 is legit free emulator what works (some games like CoD doesn't run well, they laggy or textures glitching so it makes it unplayable)
COD is shit anyway (Ponies = bite me)

Im not a fan of censoring and if I like something I go and pay for it. I also had a crack version of DrasticDS and bought the real thing afterwards to support the creator. Same with anime, I have Crunchyroll, but some Anime just aren't shown there and I can't subscribe to every service that exists, so I sometimes take the dark path.

10:46 how did you set up the shake as and actual shaking of your phone? It thought you could only map it to the standard, physical buttons of the controller
If the phone has an accelerometer, then shaking your phone will count as the Wii remote shaking.

For Ps2, Gamecube and Wii games, you can SCRUB the image-files, removing all dead data. Often ending up with just a few hundred megabytes instead of 1.4/4.4 gigabytes rom files.
Once again, google is your friend.

I dont know how to set citra , vidoes in TH-cam only shows the way they put the game but when i downloaded a game it didn't even show in to my screen
the irony is the n64 graphics was significantly better then the ps1 you can legit look at any n64 games and see that the colour gumut is richer, the polygon count is better and leading to smoother models and the rendering was smoother

the first emulator M64, i already downloaded some games still in zip format, i create new folder in Download , chuck all the zips there. but the app itself cannot add the game?
EDIT : I tried lemuroid instead and works better
Some emulators require you to unzip the files using another app like WinRAR
So when I connect the phone controller to the phone does it automatically connect the controller to the emulator

I love how he tries to shill the usb c pen drive when it's not possible to use with most android controllers. I am aware of the top bracket mounted ones. 90% of them are garbage or require a usb c connection themselves for power/data. Rechargeable ones exsist, but then you have an xtra device to charge. Overall an unrealistic, clunky solution.

I'd recommend Delta emulator but it has a lot of ads so I think that's why its not on this list.
