I just want every person under 25 to know that we did highly choreographed dances like this at prom and homecoming in the 80s. It took all week for everyone in the school to learn their part. But the payoff was magic.
I feel like Brad liked her even before her makeover, notice how concerned he was for her after she fell off her bike and he wanted to drive her home. It’s like in Pretty in Pink or A Cinderella Story when the popular guy is dating the popular mean girl but deep down wants a normal “down to earth” type who isn’t concerned with shallow high school drama.
Yeah and I also think that this movie of teen witch, it kinda has a similarity of pretty in pink a little and idk if it relates to other 80s teen movies such as the breakfast club, sixteen candles, Ferris buellers day off for example.
I don"t think she gave up magic and ancestral inheritance. For that moment, she just wanted to know that Brad cared about her without magic being involved.
But I always felt like she gave it back to madam Serena because madam Serena has given her "the last of her powers" to help with the popular spell. So she was paying it back in a way. Maybe? 🤔
Still one of my favorite movies. This scene is perfect. She wanted to prove that Brad loved her and it wasn’t just a spell but pure magic of love😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰
She wasnt confident and the amulet necklace gave her a charm to believe in. To make her think she was not powerful without it. All along the power and confidence was within her all along. She just needed to believe in herself. When she threw the necklace is was because she had the power within her. But she just wanted it not practice her craft anymore and enjoy being a normal girl. Plus without the necklace I guess she could tell if Brad truly loved her or it was all a spell.
My daughter is about to turn 15 and she had her moment nonstop watching it . It’s brought back a-lot of memories. She’s over it now but it was sweet while it lasted
yeah I think she lost everything meaningful in life (friendship, compassion) and replaced it with violence and popularity ... and then cursed the teacher by throwing the amulet at her. Am I the only one who was concerned for that teacher's safety and wellbeing once she saw the amulet and picked it up? Did anyone else scream "noooo," as a kid watching the movie, at the teacher?
Not her responsibility to fix it so I don’t see it as her ‘not caring’. Her “best friend” resented her and was jealous of her. I’m glad they never really made amends because that’s realistic and honestly a good lesson for young people. If someone is your friend, they’ll find happiness in your happiness and not worry about themselves. Friendships come and go as you outgrow people, so it’s a good lesson to learn.
+tbot182 I was only 8 when it came out, but being a pre-teen I used to like alot. I guess is for the young viewers. I'll still watch it LOL even though it has bad ratings. Did not know it made no money!
I loved this movie as a kid and loved her necklace! They have a cheap version of it online and of course I had to have it! I especially love how Robyn Lively performed the exact dance scene at her sister, Blake's wedding to Ryan Reynolds. She kept the whole thing a secret and even had the necklace remade so she could throw it to her! Such a cool sister moment 😢❤
Saw a picture of her from almost two years ago. Does she ever AGE?? She looks like she's hardly 40! She was my teenage crush when I was growing up in the 80s because I saw her one several Disney movies like "Not quite human."
*TRUE STORY:* She recreated this scene at her little sister's wedding 20+ years later. Her little sister is Blake Lively. Her brother-in-law is Deadpool.
That’s my acting coach Dan Gauthier, I’m 35, and I remember him in the 80’s n 90’s, and yeah I was a little struck too when I met him. But he’s a great coach
This movie REALLY tried to be like Dirty Dancing and it failed miserably, but i am soooo okay with this! this is my childhood right here and I will always love it.
Fun Fact: This movie was filmed in December of 1987, and released in April 1989. Robyn Lively (Louise Miller) was only 15 and Dan Gauthier (Brad) was 23 which explains the fake kissing.
The kissing looked lackluster to me as a child so I'm glad I know the reason for it now. I was still happy he ended up liking her and they ended up together so I accepted the fake kissing anyway. Haha
We've went through 2 80s mini fashion things and now an early 90s fashion thing and I'm just like wherm the taffeta ballet skirts from teen witch coming back in style 🤣
Yeah, I always get the feeling that they cut parts, because some part seems like fast or without a logical development, I thougth that was just me that have that feeling
i'm 35 and the nostalgia just hit's so hard as i get older :(, i'm a guy and i love this movie, and as cheesy as this movie is, it's still more enjoyable than 90% of modern films,
Terrae Spiritus I think he started liking her before she even got those powers it’s just those powers helped her to have the Courage to show how she felt
There has always been a debate if she actually gave up her powers when she tossed her amulet. As soon as she threw it to Serena the spotlight moved off of her. This tells me that she gave up all of her power because she felt she didn’t need it anymore.
Well I always knew her doing that was giving up her powers for that moment to see how he really felt. But I never thought she gave them up for good. Like Serena said that amulet belongs to her she belongs to it. So she just really can't get rid of it.
Two things I've noticed about this movie as an adult. One there's no antagonist. The girlfriend kust accepts Louise taking her man and second Louise gotta a ton of hairspray. I mean really how does her hair stay like that lol
Somehow I accurately predicted that the guy's name was Brad, & I had no way of knowing that😂. I feel like guys in 80s movies that look like him are always Brad or Jeff.

@@merryandjoyThe OP is joking
Lmao
😂 thank you for this! I always did the dirty dancing routine at my homecoming 🤪
WTF? You didn’t?
I feel robbed!
I can't stop watching, those outfits, the hair! The bangs, volume, and was that a side ponytail! Man, I love the 80s!
I feel like Brad liked her even before her makeover, notice how concerned he was for her after she fell off her bike and he wanted to drive her home. She said in the movie it was the source of her power..if I remember correctly.
Aquarian Chic, I like the way you see that scene. I never looked at that scene in that way before but I'm going to now.
But I always felt like she gave it back to madam Serena because madam Serena has given her "the last of her powers" to help with the popular spell. So she was paying it back in a way. Maybe? 🤔
I thought she said the symbol of her power
I think also having to take his ex to the dance and seeing how shallow and ungrateful she was for things made him miss Louise too.
one of the best dance scenes in movie history ever. how many of yall low keyed memorized the dance and hoped to do it with the love of your life?
Guilty! 🙋♀️😄
This and Dirty Dancing are so iconic !!!
mmmmeeeee!! lol
No just with my crush at that time. It changed every month. 🤣🤣
30th anniversary - and I still love this movie! go teen witch! 🧙♀️🖤🧙♀️
Yes go teen witch I loved the movie I still watch it to this day
I was so excited when the released it on bluray
I still love it as much as ever. I'm 35 so I think it came out the year after I was born. I watched it later in life and fell in love with it.

My daughter is about to turn 15 and she had her moment nonstop watching it . It’s brought back a-lot of memories. She’s over it now but it was sweet while it lasted
Man I love her look here, she looks amazing! Although It just sucks how she lost her best friend when she became "popular" and doesn't even care!

Lemur Lover that wasn’t a teacher. That was the fortune teller that told her she was a witch.
@noemistephanie agreed. I never liked how they wrapped up that friendship. How it never recovered.

I want it on Netflix in Poland! :) But we have only a little more than 1000 movies here. :(
Michał Górka that's sad. Sorry for you:(
How hot is your daughter?

Robyn Lively is so gorgeous, a real natural beauty.

A very nice send off to the 80's. My finest decade
I found out today they did a version of this at Ryan and Blake's wedding and I WANNA SEE THAT hahaha
TheRamonesFreak for real?
The lead actress is her older sister
He started falling for her during tutoring 💕
Agreed 💯💯👏🏼👏🏼 I think so too 😊
I thought it was when she stood up to their teacher
I'm a 43 year old man, and I've been humming this song for most of my life.
This is the best song in the movie I absolutely adore it.
agreed!
*TRUE STORY:* She recreated this scene at her little sister's wedding 20+ years later. Her little sister is Blake Lively. Her brother-in-law is Deadpool.
Shoulder pads stole the scene.
Can't believe she's Blake Lively oldest sister
Britta Dallas her half sister
Robyn lively i think she was much more prettier then Black lively is when she was younger. But that's just me others might think different.
Was Blake in Night of the Creeps?
And she married the guy who played Zac’s dad in High School Musicals. Also cute.
Half sister.
This movie gave me such unrealistic expectations of high school. 😆

That’s awesome!! I’m glad he’s cool! I hate when you hear that actors are jerks!! Say hi to him from Canada!!!
My favorite movie I can watch it over and over
Still can’t believe Brad married Randa in real life
dan Gauthier in the 80s
= the poor man's Tom cruise.
How did you know what his name was?
Owen Chase science channel
Do you live under an IMDB rock?
Lol! So true. He is still hot to this day!
Lol true but he was STILL hot either way
I think he would have had a big career if Tom Cruise made it to the seminary.
He is SO gorgeous!!
It's 2023 and I am still in love with this !!!

This is so cheesy and wonderful. I love it
I never saw the whole movie but I remember it being on tv a lot when I was younger.
I love this movie I didn't know which date I watch this for the first time
Always loved the ending. The music, dancing, plus that dress made it a great scene to watch.
Haha I actually had the dress made for my 18th in 1994 lol

The way they strut. 😂
I remember the first time I saw this movie and they kissed.. tonsil hockey action and I thought it was rated R 😝
Sigh, I love this movie way too much
Mr weaver is dancing with madame Serena.
Woke up thinking of this scene. Going to go watch this movie for the umpteenth time. 🤪
1:07-1:12 when you haven't brushed your hair in 6 months
What do you supposed happened to Randa during the dance? She just faded into non existence
Danielle Godwin she is dancing with another guy. 🤷🏾♀️
@@volgirl2477where is she dancing with another guy ??? Lol
I like this music brad and Louise perfect couple also belong each other
Louise got to be happy while her friend who looks like Howard Stern got tossed aside
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
😂😂🤣🤣
Has anyone done a fashion analysis for this movie because it certainly deserves it. All the costumes are top notch ❤️💖🌸
best 80's movie , for teens
Their last dance low key reminds me of the last scene between Johnny and baby in dirty dancing, love the 80s
She was so beautiful and still is
He’s so handsome. 😌
Omgoodness this is so cheesy and corny and I love it lol.
I wish this song was longer. Its my favourite from the movie
Robin Lively. Rusty Griswold's sister is cute in the Blue dress. As Louise, she did good winning the guy's heart natural without her power. Way a go!
Her hair is so beautiful❤
In an alternate reality, where four years of "Dance Class" is required to graduate.
Yeah I feel like they were missing some parts!
Yeah, I always get the feeling that they cut parts, because some part seems like fast or without a logical development, I thougth that was just me that have that feeling

The true ones would know Madame Serena is Tangina from Poltergeist
Tom Cruise but in a different font

Johnny Castle 😁😁😁😁

Eighties clothes, eighties hair, eighties dancing.
Being Blake Lively older sister you can tell beauty runs in the family
So it took me 3 decades to figure out that "Teen Witch" is actually "Pippi Longstocking!" FML!🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Omg she is!!! Lol
It was a different girl that played Pippi Longstockings
Nope! Pippi was played by Tami Erin. That's the amazing Robyn Lively in Teen Witch. 🙂
If you guys listen to the teacher's voice she played Mrs krabappel on The Simpsons
Had a huge crush on this guy and that walk lol
This was my favorite
I remember thinking Robyn Lively had the most beautiful hands I’d ever seen when I first watched this years ago.
I wanted this song played at my wedding reception.
They cut the very beginning of the song 🎵

A real stretch from her dorky character in Karate Kid part 3.
