AS A PROUD 11YR MAG VETERAN... I don't know if she's the most underrated WarFrame ever, but I've certainly seen some very hilarious assessments of her power. She's been fantastic since her 2nd Rework, she got better recently even... She somehow keeps winning. She's kinda busted. And I love her to death.
Mag has been outstanding in all phases ever since the previous round of shield changes four years ago. She can heal, she can defend, she can CC, she can defence-strip, she scales exquisitely, she doesn't care about nullifiers and she laughs in the face of Eximus units. I love her proactive, engaging playstyle and her ability to turn underappreciated weapons into war crimes.

Just came back to the game after 3 years and Frost was always my favorite warframe. Thought he would be outdated now, but turns out he is lowkey incredibly strong with some mods that have been updated/added to the game in recent times. 30k+ Overguard for the entire team, 130% armor strip and 200% crit chance/damage to your weapons on frozen targets all in one ability. Melts high level content in one hit whilst providing great survivability.
@fuyukiryujin3723 Speaking as a frost main since 2013 he is super underrated and has no bad mission match ups. He can do anything. I agree with both of you completely.

I love Mag, and I've always been a huge fan of her since I started. There's always something so cool about controlling what's essentially a force of the universe. Mag was always so squishy in my eye's. After the heirloom skin I gave her another shot and OMG she is amazing! I can not believe how tanky she is and her tool kit is amazing. Definately slept on her for too long. Have to say my fave is still Kullervo as wiping rooms on SP enemies with a single melee heavy makes me giggle maniacally every time :D
I started using Mag for her funny interaction with the Steflos, but she quickly became a favorite. Dropped some cash for a Tennogen skin immediately to get her looking fancy, and I use her all the time in Steel Path. Excellent frame.
Mag was my go to frame when i used to play my daughter pick her as starter and loves her ever since i think she get madsed over because she doesn't have one button game play she actually requires you to pay attention which the cod kids cant do
aznvasion made a pretty good mag video recently too. Magnetize focused build that helminth's out mag's 3 (honestly without scaling the strip from polarize is VERY meh in SP) for garuda's altar. Pull mobs in, magnetize something, blood altar it = magnetize pulls for its entire duration instead of just a few seconds cause your magnetize target usually insta dies. Its *amazing* to play around and you still have all the CC from pull, the tankyness from mag's 4 (don't even need the augment for her 4 honestly).
I have not played Warfram in months or a year, but Mag is my Main and will always be my starter. With it being so long, I don't exactly remember the details, but I have 3 Mag Primes, each with a notably different set of builds. I love her near versatility, even against infested. As of this post, cross-save is fully active, and with that, I will likely come back swinging. Love this refresher on Mag and get a glimpse of what is now available in the build space.

QOTD: Personally I'm a huge fan of playing the support. When I first started playing I b-lined straight for trinity and soon after trinity prime. Lately there are a lot of support options but my two favorites to run with friends are 1) Nourish Styanax to provide infinite energy and overguard to allies and 2) Gloom Banshee as it provides monsterous CC, Healing, and damage to the team within like 25-30m
I love that you added the shield update changes, most people seem to forget that would help some (if not all) squishy frames. I personally don't have shards unlocked but I can't wait to get my girl, Mag her gems.
According to DE's statistics, Mag is not very popular beyond starter MR, but the few veteran players who play her play her a LOT. I am one of those players, having mained her from way back in the Shield Polarise days.
She’s been my starting frame for the 3 months I’ve been playing the game off and on, haven’t gotten my hands on a prime frame yet but I’ve tried a couple other regular frames and always find myself coming back to mag, love her move set and play style can’t wait to have her prime great video 👍🏻
Mag was my starter frame too and I loved her. The real problem with her wasn't base squishiness, it was the energy economy or lack thereof in the early game. This is one of the biggest early barriers to new players and it really puts a hard stop on the fun space magic fantasy. At this point Warframes should just have a passable base energy regen. New players having to pray for an energy orb before they die is one of the last remnants of a dated game design, and new game content is designed under the assumption that you have at least an R0 Arcane Energize off a clan mate. Even the Duviri mainline quest has energy dispensers so the starter frames aren't as gimped as they were in Vor's quest, so clearly they are aware of the problem.
So one of mine would be Revenant. He has just had one of those kits that is generally good and can, for the most part, always be taken into any mission to use. I have always felt he was really strong ever since his release.
I'm glad to see more ppl coming to their senses. Mag was my first frame, and Mag Prime is my fave. Your build is spectacular, though. If i hadn't been away for so long, I could imagine mine being similar. Thanks for another great vid.
Ever since her big rework, I have loved playing this frame. She can kind of do it all, and the fact that she has bonkers interactions with weapons makes for a very entertaining sandbox. And then they buffed her to have full-room armorstrip, which sent her damage through the roof. And then Archon Shards solved her cast speed problems without needing Natural Talent. And then they buffed shield gate, which she specializes in refreshing. And then she basically scales infinitely too if you add in Breach Surge Helminth. Mag was already a strong frame, now she's completely cracked and easily one of the best in the game for Steel Path.
The "Level" build you showed off with no Augments at 3:30 is what I've been running on my regular Mag, the difference being Equilibrium squeezed in there and no Vitality or Redirection (though they should be lol). Also no potato or forma! Just Steel Charge for the capacity boost. Threw the Zenurik Lens on her I got from War Within and running 1-4 Sanctuary Onslaught is a quick way to get some early focus leveling in if you don't get paired up with a nuker like Mirage or Saryn. Bullet jump + hold aim glide and pressing 4 to get the most amount of enemies crushed can get some silly results. Pair that with her 3 to strip then crush if you have the energy and you'll be carrying for your teammates instead. At 5+ if you don't have any squadmates to carry you its not worth jumping into, but 1-4 gives good xp and decent focus for how early you can finish New Strange and War Within. Even if you aren't going for Focus, just the leveling xp (with no booster even) is crazy.
I think a lot of the old frames in general are overlooked... But I'd say my favorite of them is Nyx. She has just always scaled to any content with little need to change anything.
@@Yuiichiiro oh she totally is like most old primes just gotta figure out the right build to really make them useful I always use ash prime with his augs
@@Yuiichiiro I wouldn't call her 'meta' but she can certainly do the content just fine. There are more tools now then there ever were in the early days.
@fuyukiryujin3723 I still think frost can get a little buff because Icy Avalanche seems promising until you read 60 overguard per ennemies that got *frozen*, sure biting frost is one of the best dps but again, only on frozen ennemies. Maybe I'm wrong and DE should just change how the Cold status operates?
I had a moment yesterday where I said to myself, "I think its time to play mag again" after years of not doing so, so this video was quite the welcome surprise!
Mag was my starter. I was happy that when they buffed the starters. Didn't think to try anything like what you showed here but now I've gotta try these (even without the topaz shard). Cheers!
People on Reddit called her a bad starter frame and I heavily disagree. She's a really good one because you can shield gate without any augment. Not only that but she can also strip armor and shields and group enemies with her pull. All of which are extremely useful as a new player. I picked her on my new player account that I had for a while. And really the only thing I struggled with was energy sustain. But I very quickly jumped to just using pull because that ability alone was really helpful
I chose Mag as starter warframe new player people I met says grind for new Warframes but I actually enjoy her and feel no need for a new frame anytime soon and a fondness for melee usage I make it work out 😊
Blood alter mag makes the best use out of most of her ability except the fourth. Honestly over the years - she changed so much that the investment thrown into her is comparable to Mesa.
Man I wish we can play all 3 starters in WF 1999. I love Volt and Mag. All I'll say is that there's like 6 fashion-frame customization slots on my Mag. Powerful, fun caster, and sick fashion. My TauForged shards are on Volt tho. My personal take is Ivara. Although understandably (since her playstyle is very different from all the other frames). But she is pretty strong. Crit damage + headshot damage makes great numbers for most decently-modded weapons. And with all these shield changes and archon shards, sometimes you forget how good invisibility can be as a survivability option. She's like The Predator of WF.
I slept on Mag for my first couple of years in Warframe, then just decided to give her a go for Mastery points at first, little did i know i was letting myself in for. Fell in love with her kit there and then, and shes been my main BAE ever since. i havent got all the mods or the components that you have Tactical, but what i have got makes going into missions fun. Mag is a very active frame in which you are constantly spamming her abilities to keep control of the areas that you are fighting in. Shield gating was a game changer for me, it meant that Mag could tank with the best of them, as well as great crowd control and scaling damage with Polarize and Magnetic bubble. Admittedly she's not an ideal starter frame as it can take a bit of time to get her up to a decent level of power, but if you stick with her she can hold her own in solo and squad play. Love using her and can always count on Mag for a fun time in missions.😍
It's funny how I started investing in my Mag again and I see a video coming out about her. I've been having a lot of success with slapping her with two green shards for armor strip and subsuming Hydroid's Tempest Barrage and using her magnetize to get everyone in a nice little group.
I love Mag. I got her rather late into the base game, but even though Wu is my go-to for ezpz mission completion, Mag and Saryn and Frost all have a special place in my heart. (NO DE. I'm STILL not forking over the cash for their heirlooms).
not mentioned on the topic of Breach Surge subsume: Magnetize and Breach Surge have an infinite damage loop, if enemies inside Magnetize have Breach Surge on them it'll scale up the damage until Magnetize expires or all the enemies die. with a bit of duration it's easy to hit the the integer limit
Excalibur was my starter, then saw that mag could obliterate the whole corpus tileset with her 3, way back when, and started trying her out. Been my favourite ever since. I like her simple design too.
I always look at tier lists with confusion when they list Loki as a low-tier frame. Loki Prime has been my main Warframe for years, since well before even the Plains of Eidolon, and while he's only really excellent when you're doing spy vaults, he's never BAD. Irradiating disarm gives him room-wide crowd control, mod him properly and he makes back enough energy while invisible to just go invisible again instantly, the decoy never lives long but is cheap, spammable, and has WAY more aggro pull than you think, and I have gotten to so many tricky caches and statues and whatnot via switch-teleporting with my decoy. Plus, none of his abilities care about power strength, so you're free to slap Overextended on him without a care. Give him just a few good weapons and you'll see.
Without getting too much into spoilers, we have confirmation of exactly what the deal is Arthur and Aoi is through Albrecht's lore fragments through defeating the Whispers, in addition to the bonus information in the Netracell vaults themselves if you take a look around.
Can't limit it to just one frame but Mag was my starter frame back when Warframe was early access on steam. Mag Prime, Mirage Prime, and Styanax are my favorite frames atm
I'm all caught up on quests now (did Whispers this aft), and when I was doing Tempestarii I decided to get Mag back out since she rocks vs Corpus. I've always loved her, but playing her made me miss Shy's Warframe content. I'm still getting used to the shield changes, but she's so powerful. Valkyr is still doing most the grunt work for me, though; there isn't much she can't power her way through, even without leaning on Hysteria (I prefer a War Cry build).
Frost tbh. He had such a massive glow up without DE even giving him any kind of a rework. He just got really good because DE reworked the core game mechanics. (And ofc the crit augment also helps. But it's not necessary to make him good)
Dude Squshi/underrated, I don't know. I've used Mag in Kuva Survival Steel Path for 2-3 hr runs, she a beast! This was a yr ago, before we got the new shards for buff etc. Personally, Mag is a great Warframe. Just got to know the right set-up per your own play style. Thanks for the video bud, keep it up, and Happy New Year to everyone!
Zephyr Prime. With my trusty Secura Penta. The projectile velocity she gives makes all launcher weapons feel completely different and amazing. Oh and also, she can fly and summon tornadoes.
Had no idea she was that underrated, though I guess it should be obvious with so few players I run into. She's one of my most used frames even after 10 years.
She was my starter almost 10 years ago and while nova has taken over significantly too much of my playtime i will go back to mag regularly and enjoy the magnetize mayhem
About to start leveling Mag for the first time. My main and also my favorite that Iv been using is Ember. She absolutely annihilates everything so I’ll see how the compare
I think chroma needs another rework. And the way I think that they need to fix him is to turn him into an actual infested dragon. Get rid of his first ability and only have elemental ward, vex armor, and 4th ability. And replace the one ability into a dragon rage mode (something similar to sevegoth’s 4th ability) Having more damage taken by enemies would fill up his rage meter and then unleash his dragon that you can control, and all damage and armor can synergize with his elemental ward and vex armor. And/or have his dragon with its own abilities. I think chroma would be a more powerful dragon character if he has a lot more offensive abilities.
I've had Mag since 2013, back when enemies scaled insanely and games went for 3 hours. She's literally the only frame that could scale to any level. Nothing can kill you if nothing can hit you.
Thanks for the video! Mag's great! I really gotta say as far as underrated frames, I see nothing but hate for Yareli and she's really quite good in the right situation. I've seen a lot of people act like picking her at all is trolling your team and that's ridiculous
I’ve been loving using Excalibur with wrathful advance and my lostvayne Nikana zaw along with violet crit damage shards that just destroys anything and everything in its way
I used to main Mag back in 2014. One of my favorite frames to use at the start. When her abilities changed after her rework, she became a powerhouse, especially when dealing with the Corpus. She ain't bad against the Grineer either.🥃
I slept on mag, went from volt to nezha to garuda as my mains. And i do love those frames, but Mag is my new main, shes perfect for solo grinds and just general gameplay
Yeah I play Mag occasionally but after you get the hurdles of her being squishy at the start of your Warframe journey, with all the changes, she can out live a lot of people in squads. Just like Frost, her strips are free so why not use it.
@@glitchvariable5336 yeah Nyx needs love and attention when moding/playing her and get use to not seeing the full potential of the madness she causes when playing with a squad
try mag bubble plus tenet arca plasmor (headphone users beware) has to be tenet, its the *infinite* body punch through AND the richochet working together that makes it do the funny may also crash your game if you catch too many enemies in your bubble, it's hitting each one 100's of times in a split second afterall
Vauban doesn't get a fair shake anymore but he actually has 2 infinite scaling damage abilities and arguably the single best crowd control ability in the entire game. He also has built in armor stripping, very strong low level survivability, and one of the top 5 passives. Just a hell of a kit that is only really missing solid energy generation and high level survivability. If a helminth ability that provides that survival tool he's looking for then I think he shoots straight to S+ in a heartbeat.
Mag and frost are my all time favourite warframes, I used to love experimenting with Mag’s magnetise and different weapons to get the biggest damage and explosions, it’s a while since I’ve played though
Mag was my first Prime Frame, I still own that ORGINAL BUILT frame, she has been up and down and all around great, but she is very Mod depended unfortnally lol
Ngl when first stated playing warframe over 4 years ago i thought mag was one of those frames that sucked but now me being a late game veteran who has all the star chart unlocked got them useful mods and now have a full understanding on how said frame's abilites works and ways to utlizes thier kits in missions and enemy types and thier weaknesses now interested into investing towards mag prime and tbh she seems more fit/a problem towards corpus enemies
Nidus is completely underrated he is an absolute beast at tanking, and has an easy to use cc aka larva. His gimmick with mutation stacks also makes it so he is basically immortal in the rare cases your health reaches 0. And by the time his stacks are taken, you have already profited like double what you lost in high density missions. My one issue with him is that it’s kinda hard to work with teammates. He’s a great pick for solo players though!
Mag is one of my favorites. And I do not have any shards or helmiths stuff installed. Just 230 power strength and augment. I guess a basic powerful Mag. It works well for me in Steel Path.
The most super underrated frame is gauss yeah hes been talked about but not talked about enough i have nuked so hard getting thousands of kills each game equilibrium plus how easy it is to get efficiency while having good duration like 170 plus the archon shards plus the arcane that increases duration i get 60 seconds and then 40 or 30 seconds of nuking and invincibility hes the true definition of op like at 7:49 all those enemies are gone for him hes great at everything
My my nickel, most underrated is 100% Ash. He is *the* space ninja in the space ninjas game, he can (especially with Savage Silence) pretty much delete anything he looks at, he's extremely mobile, and even surprisingly good at taking a punch even as a stealth frame. I almost never see anyone else using him, but he's absolutely in my high rotation list.
Happy New Year!

Firing a nataruk in mag's bubble feels great. If your projectiles have infinite punchthrough, they will persist until the bubble pops.
Plus she’s super fashionable and she abilities are very helpful
Fascinating, i've never known she was even playable to the current meta.
But I very quickly jumped to just using pull because that ability alone was really helpful
i love the silliness of 5 amber cast speed shards on Mag xD it's hilarious how fast you can spam her skills but yeah she is really strong
I chose Mag as starter warframe new player people I met says grind for new Warframes but I actually enjoy her and feel no need for a new frame anytime soon and a fondness for melee usage I make it work out 😊
Picked mag in the beginning and it helped me get by so much.
Top frames
1 Mag
2 (tied): Nidus
2 (tied): Grendel (Pre and Post rework)
as a fellow mag main, i have to say i fricking love youre videos!
M8 that topaz blast shard is nuts. I know people who went lvl cap with 1 with octavia, and literally just stand there lol
Definitely enjoying this build variation thx. Changed up the arcane blessing for augmented just to ramp up the damage a bit
She was my starter, and every time I see her in random games, she always crushes
I love Mag. I got her rather late into the base game, but even though Wu is my go-to for ezpz mission completion, Mag and Saryn and Frost all have a special place in my heart.
(NO DE. I'm STILL not forking over the cash for their heirlooms).
I mean, you literally couldn't now anyway ;)
Love this. Since I merged all account I got mag prime back and I’ve been in love with her ever since
not mentioned on the topic of Breach Surge subsume:
Magnetize and Breach Surge have an infinite damage loop, if enemies inside Magnetize have Breach Surge on them it'll scale up the damage until Magnetize expires or all the enemies die. with a bit of duration it's easy to hit the the integer limit
He does need a touch up imo
Without getting too much into spoilers, we have confirmation of exactly what the deal is Arthur and Aoi is through Albrecht's lore fragments through defeating the Whispers, in addition to the bonus information in the Netracell vaults themselves if you take a look around.
Can't limit it to just one frame but Mag was my starter frame back when Warframe was early access on steam.
Mag Prime, Mirage Prime, and Styanax are my favorite frames atm
I've been using Mag a lot recently because of the event and she has been great
I'm all caught up on quests now (did Whispers this aft), and when I was doing Tempestarii I decided to get Mag back out since she rocks vs Corpus.
But it's not necessary to make him good)
Mag's bubbles + Incarnon Latron is just stupidly good.
Putting aside Mag’s potential, your fashion is awesome! I love it so much.
Zephyr Prime. With my trusty Secura Penta. The projectile velocity she gives makes all launcher weapons feel completely different and amazing. Oh and also, she can fly and summon tornadoes.
Yeah, that Topaz shard was a stroke ofTater genius...
That beat though!! Love it!
I think chroma needs another rework. And the way I think that they need to fix him is to turn him into an actual infested dragon. Get rid of his first ability and only have elemental ward, vex armor, and 4th ability. And replace the one ability into a dragon rage mode (something similar to sevegoth’s 4th ability)
Having more damage taken by enemies would fill up his rage meter and then unleash his dragon that you can control, and all damage and armor can synergize with his elemental ward and vex armor. And/or have his dragon with its own abilities. I think chroma would be a more powerful dragon character if he has a lot more offensive abilities.
Funny enough, mag is the ONLY STARTER that I would use in steel path without any helminth. Helminth is just extra
I’ve been playing for 8 1/2 years Mag has always been a favorite of some of the new frames I love protea and wisp
... For reasons unknown, I imagine Shy creeping up behind you with malice during the making of this....
Nyx feels underrated as does Lavos.
Nyx is heavily underrated, tho much like mag without the right mods she's hard to get into
@@JC-ex3gp I do agree helminth has been very kind to Nyx ^_^
@@glitchvariable5336 yeah Nyx needs love and attention when moding/playing her and get use to not seeing the full potential of the madness she causes when playing with a squad
@@JC-ex3gpgood thing both Nyx & Trinity are getting reworked this coming December when WF 1999 drops
try mag bubble plus tenet arca plasmor (headphone users beware)
has to be tenet, its the *infinite* body punch through AND the richochet working together that makes it do the funny
may also crash your game if you catch too many enemies in your bubble, it's hitting each one 100's of times in a split second afterall
I love Mag. And I use her in Steel Path all the time. I collapse bubbles and nuke enemies.
I think you mean forgotten at best. Mag has always godly and will likely remain there for the foreseeable future.
Started useing her after getting that 80 spuds skin. Pretty fun
I remember the old bullet attractor and Javelin nuke build, i have a lot of builds for mag
I've been waiting a long time for this video.
Im looking forward to his new augment. Going to be ace.
wait, new augment?@@shaydonwoolstenhulme4436
What´s the sentinel build and weapon?
Wdym no lore tato? She had a pretty intriguing appearance in whispers of the wall
I play mag as a trapper. 2 and 3 with ensnare and 1 to pull big groups. She cleans in duviri
