Hi everyone, thanks so much for taking the time to watch. Please leave a like and comment letting me know some of the things you would like to see in the future. Have a beautiful day ❤.
As a long time van lifer, nomad, and traveler I love your content. What I love most is that's it's genuine, nothing about it feels forced unlike some creators. I can tell you know how to live in the moment and let the little moments speak for themselves you have life figured out. Keep being you! Much Love!
ah, figured you must be a fellow Canadian. :) and you had me with the loons. I’ve been away 20-odd years now and they’re still one of the things I really miss. great video, +1 sub, and thanks to Alex at Bushcraft Adventure for the recommendation. 👍🏼✌🏼🖖🏼 ps. BEAUTY drone shot at sunset! really captured the night vibe of being out there. I guess I miss that too. 😉
Just a comment about paddling solo in a two person canoe. Trust me, this is not a criticism or a right vs wrong sort of thing, just something to try for yourself. Spin the canoe around. Sit on the front seat, but face the back of the canoe. This will put you a little more towards the center for balance, but not exactly in the middle. It provides a little more stability and control. Plus, it’s a little easier on the knees! I’m closer to 50 than I am to 40, I’ll take all the comfort I can get, 😄👍 Also, nice call starting the fire with flint & steel even though you had a lighter! Always good to practice that stuff when it’s not critical. Psychologically,, now you have the ability to say “I’ve done it before, I can do it again” Awesome video!
Thank you so much! I definitely need more practice with the canoe...sitting in the bow facing the stern is a great call for sure. I'll give that a try. The wind was blowing me around pretty good even with a light breeze. I'm going to keep practicing. Thank you for taking the time to watch 🤗
@@MistyMountainGirl, great video. Unfortunately, the flat bottom canoes tend to have the downside of tracking issues when the wind is strong. They are super maneuverable though. I have found that keeping the bow lower in the water when soloing helps.
You did a really good job with your video! You are right, the sound of the Loons is very relaxing. With all of the cut logs, is someone going to build a cabin? Thanks for taking the time to put the video together for us to enjoy! Take care!
Thank you so much! There is a lot of deadfall on the island, looks like someone put some time into building a wind break with it all. It was nice to see that only dead trees were purposely cut, as I came across another spot nearby where someone had cut a bunch of live trees. Maybe I’ll build something at some point ☺️
Good morning amazing lady, good job of being aware of you surroundings, and on your choices in campaign and survival, you have a blessed day and week camping and having fun ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@MistyMountainGirl Yes I have ..a lot...I do 1800's primitive stuff...Bow drills take quite a bit of practice...ferro rods spark at approx. 4000 degrees - flint steel about 2000 give or take...so ferro rod and back of your carbon steel knife....very successful...lots youtube info on that....work in bad weather as well. better than flint and steel as far as that goes.....good luck and have fun with it all!
Always good to get that tent set up before the weather comes and if you don't good to get a fire started to warm up and a coffee LOL. It's great to have the stove as a back up as well especially because the wood is wet and sometime difficult to get going. Now watching you do the flint and steel you are getting very proficient with that skill that's awesome. The sound of loons is one of the most soothing sounds in nature I believe. Now the crackling of a camp fire is pretty relaxing too lol. The look on your face at 9:00 was like , "this ever going to stop" LOL That sunset around the 18:27 time frame and the loons was absolutely awesome, I'm not as keen as hearing the frogs LOL. Looking at a fire can be very hypnotizing and it is so difficult to get somewhere to relax now with the fast pace of modern life. Thanks for taking us along.
I was very happy to have the stove for quick coffee! I absolutely agree about the loon calls, they are such a special sound and I always feel so lucky when I get to hear them 🤍
Wherever you are, nice loons. None where I'm at, but my buddy and I did see a cormorant on Lake Ontario recently. As for what I'd like to see in the future, more foraging please. And you really could be on Alone, it's about time a Canadian woman wins it...
Dear Misty, Lovely to watch again. Watching the fire in silence and just being in the present moment is so wonderful and priceless. I learnt things the hard way working 70-80 hours a week for many years as an emergency doctor and GP till one day I had a heart attack and a near death experience which I see as a blessing in disguise. Beautiful priceless experience, and Vipassana Meditation saved my life. This story is in my channel in a few videos. Today is actually 10 years since that experience in 2014- August 28th. This is my new birthday, when my real worthwhile life began. So I feel very happy Misty when young people like you live life rather than postponing to live after you retire. You have to live every moment deliberately and intentionally being aware. Living in nature and embracing the wild is such a beautiful thing. Well done. Thank you for these beautiful film creations. Much love, Peace & Metta, 🙏, umesh :)
Dear Misty, Thank you for sharing this beautiful creation. It brought a great burst of joy just watching your video. I simply love your honesty, humbleness, positive vibes and spirit, simply the beautiful human being who you are. Well done, Well done, amazing videos, 🙏💛☺️, umesh :)
What a great video. I can not beleave you brought in that large cutting board and griddle, but it made for a great meal, "set before a queen ", nice. I enjoyed the flint and steel fire build and the drone sunset😊. You now have a new sub. I will catch up on your videos and hope to see more. Thanks for taking the time and effort.
