    Wow this is nice to see. My car is wrapped and really grimey from not washing it like I should. I thought it was a lost cause and I was ready to pull the wrap off but I may give this a shot. Tire marks are way harsher than my stains

    Wrap cleans up perfect with brake cleaner, I've never had any issues with the wrap on my race car and it comes back covered in rubber and scuffs after every race! Also minor scratches can be removed with gentle use of a heat gun. Great video but seems a long way to get something so simple done, and don't get me wrong - love your work!

      bro i have some minor scratches on my vinyl wrap.When u say we can remove them with the use of a heating gun u mean to just warm up the vinyl and we hope to stretch so the scratch will be gone? i really want your advice if u have allready done it to yours.Thanks you!

    3M makes a specialty adhesive remover that won't damage the finish of paint or Vinyl. It would melt that rubber off in 10 seconds and you'd be done in less than a minute.

    A video on how to deal with interior plastic scratches would be a godsend. Not the deep scratches but more the tiny fine white scratches on textured black plastic. It’s driving me nuts. My weekend mx5 nc has the softest plastic interior I’ve ever owned.

    You should do full polish on freshly wrapped car, and show before after shots, that would be amazing. I hate gloss wraps as the gloss level is so low on them.

    Hey Larry. I am doing vehicle wraps for living for over 10 years. I have several certifications also. While the polishing worked out great in your case I wouldn't recommend polishing vinyl ( in most cases). This is a race car so who cares but if someone has a car they got wrapped and trying to keep it pristine for years then its a big no-no. It might look half decent now but I can assure you the wrap will get "sunburns" where you polished it in half a year or so. If someone decides to polish their beloved car that was wrapped just 1 year after it was wrapped they will slash the life expectancy of the vinyl in half at least. Vinyl does not have the same clear coat as cars to cut into. Even if it's laminated its totally different than clear coat. If there is so much dirt on the car that washing won't take off you can use some compound but only apply it by hand and be very delicate with it. Only a couple passes by hand should take off the nasty dirt that accumulates on the wrap. Been there, done that. Especially don't recommend polishing metallic vinyl wrap. Meaning polishing like a clear coat with the tool and trying to bite into the non existent clear.
    EDIT: reading the comments I'm keep shaking my head. If you polish your wrapped car regularly for shows or whatnot your wrap won't last 1 year. I have tried to polish scratched vinyl and it did not help one bit. I did polish faded vinyl that was probably never washed and it did look slightly better but it still looked faded and probably faded back real quick. And once it starts cracking good luck taking it off easily. Larry if you want you can do some research of what lamination these materials have. How thick it is and does polishing truly help. One thing you can only test and see yourself is to get a piece of vinyl and put it on something and polish 1 of them after a year and see how they would come out after. I might actually just do that myself.

    • @eidrag
      @eidrag 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      As I understand what Larry did is just remove rubber marks (and some of the vinyl itself) which the owner maybe can decide to just hold on to this vinyl one more race, for economical reasons?
      But for daily users, do you think it's better to not polish it frequently?

    Hi Larry, funny that you post a Wrap polish video, last week I was polishing a GTR and the entire car was wrap! The client offered me to try to remove marks and swirls on the protective film, wurst first experience, try with the 15mk2 with 3-4 different compound and polish and the solution finish to be: don’t heat the vinyl or the product will stick to it. If you have some advice for me and people I’m welcome to know it. Thank You

    • @mlg6992
      @mlg6992 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, but that's extremely overkill. A quality wax should last for months on end. The only thing that could cause damage from waxing, would be from using a dry or dirty applicator.
      If you really feel you need to add that extra shine after each wash, consider using a quick wax instead.
