I could see Kareem not giving Lebron props for his accomplishments. The NBA isn't tough like it was, so Kareem had reason.
Kareem had genuine resect and appreciation for Bird. But these modern day players like LeBron?? He doesn't have any respect for them at all. The 1980's was the most physical era, while today's NBA is unwatchable .Keep Bird in your mix bro.

I turned the NBA off a long time ago ... then after that the NFL ... haven't even thought watching a Superbowl in years . There has been a major degradation of all sports .
Now the same mindsets are destroying college football .
They are trying to sit things up to shut out everyone except for the biggest universities from even being able to get in these new 12 team playoffs ... Big 10 and SEC wanting to each get an automatic 4 spots each is pure horse manure . If they do it ... I don't know what day it will be but I will turn CFB off but I won't watch a sport where the outcome is 90 % decided by rules and automatic bids in a fake playoff
Pro sports used to be pure passion, in 2024 this is gone, I miss true competition.
Kareem has and always had a great appreciation for Larry Bird and his abilities. Larry's widely regarded as "unathletic", as mentioned by several people in this video.
At the end, when Kareem says "chubby white guy" it looks a little out of context. You can see a cut in the film where they had edited something out, and that particular description of Larry was just simply a reference to him not being a muscle bound track star. It wasn't disrespect in any way. I always viewed it as a huge compliment from another really great player.

Bird was FAR tougher than Kareem. Kareem wasn't "testing" Bird's toughness. He was just losing his cool, as he always did. Just having an anger management problem doesn't guarantee that you can back up your bluster. Bird would have absolutely kicked Kareem's ass, and Kareem knows it.

Kareem Was Making A Joke Saying "Chubby White Boy". And I Think The Reason He Didn't Show LeFlop Any Love Is Because, He Didn't Like The Way LeFlop & The Sports Media Think LeFlop Is The "King". Also, Kareem Knew That LeFlop Didn't Have To Play Hard For Those Points The Way Kareem Did. Kareem Didn't Like Any Players Sucking Up To The Sports Media And For Sure The Way LeFlop Does It. Kareem Wasn't A Hater He Just Didn't Respect Some Players. Really The Celtic's Got Into Him & The Other Lakers Mind. Because He Wasn't Ever Like That To Bird Before Or After. It's True They Both Respected Each Other Very Much Back Then & Still To This Day. But They Didn't Become Hanging Around Kinda Buddies At All. Until This One Time Kareem Let Them Get Into Head, Which Is What Kareem Was Saying. But Kareem & Bird Were Not Dirty Players & Especially To One Another. They Played Hard And Yes A Lot Of Players Would Get Hurt Back Then BUT Most Of It Was Never Really On Purpose. They Knew When It Was Done Purposely, And Then It Could Get Into, It's Go Time. You Should Look Up These Two Video's Of When Bird Really Got Hurt, One Has A 5-Times & The Other Is About 4-Times. And Their Both Different Kinda Hurts. Some You'll Think It Was On Purpose & Some Was Just Accidents.
