So what he did as a 3 point shooter was even that much better. He said man you a dumbass, Bird had the 3 point line , I said yes, in the NBA but not something he worked when he was younger cause as that time there wasn't one. Anyhow I say this because today's guys work on 3 pointers before they even have the strength to get it to the goal. Makes for bad form but still they was working on it, like a Curry
I knew how good he was but didn't know where he came from and the struggles he and his family went through! Strong physically and mentally and carried his past with him and took it out on anyone who dared guard him! I was a huge basketball fan and I loved Larry. He was always exciting and you knew that any game he played in that was close near the end was at Larry time and the opposing team had better hope that Larry didn't have the last shot.
Nolan Richardson is a phenomenal storyteller- you should all check out his entire HOF speech; it’s amazing!
I have, and it is
Surprisingly I find a lot of those HOF speeches entertaining. I really enjoyed Shaq's induction speech.
@@hubertsumlin9697 Shaq was hilarious!
Oscar Schmidt's speech is worth the watch as well.
I concur with you emphatically, pally! I have watched his Hall of Fame speech in full and it ranks right up there with the Oscar Schmidt Hall of Fame as a couple of the best I've every watched/heard! Because of how much I agree with you I gave you a GREAT, BIG, HUMONGOUS "thumb's up"!!!
The only white basketball player I've ever seen that to my knowledge has never been called overrated even once by any of the great black players he played against in the NBA. As a matter of fact, among the list voted of the top 50 NBA players of all time, Bird went against no less than 18 of them. They may have hated hearing that trash talking when they had to face him on the court, but these days many of them are in videos like this giving testimonials and paying homage to just how special Bird's game was.
Rodman called him overrated, followed by Zeke doubling down on it. If you knew NBA history you would know this as this was a very huge deal.
@@blowc1612 I'm a Pistons fan and yes they did call Bird overrated because the Pistons had to go through them in 86 and got smoked. Rodman was young and dumb back then if you were to ask him I'm sure he would say different. Zeek always respected Bird but had to support Rodman as a team leader.
@@89DrFunk yeah I'm sure the older Rodman would agree Bird isn't overrated but still, it doesn't change the fact that Bird was called overrated by a great Black BB player
He's a bad man......he deserves the honors!
I remember back in the 80’s Larry Bird had the entire NBA in fear….
Go chiefs. Rich Eisen is a knob.
Hahahaha Really !!
Who fear a goddamn bird 🐦
I only subscribed to your channel and liked your videos because of Larry Bird. Thanks for all these stories. Brings a lot of joy to an old man such as me.
Oh, boy! Larry Bird's stories. What a thrill!!!
Dennis Johnson was on point just so sharp. Rest In Peace DJ!
Larry Bird is my all time favorite player, and I’m a Piston’s fan.
53 in Boston. My favorite sports icon of all time. Great video. Would love to thank Larry in person someday for the memories. GOAT.
Larry bird trash talking just made the game funny and entertaining, you have to remember that when you trash talk and can back it up it is no longer trash talking.
Here are PART 1, 3 & 4 of Larry Bird's Greatest Stories!

Can't get enough of Bird. Let's seem part 3 and more
You're awesome man. Legit my favorite player of all time. Crazy how you dropped this right after I just watched part 1 again 🤣
Glad you enjoyed part 1 man!
I've been waiting for part 3 for way too long already
Definitely More Please!!!... I could watch this every day
Please make a part 3! This was great. I’ve always watched and loved Bird 🦅
Thank You NBA... Thank You 80s Teachers and Greats... THANK YOU LARRY BIRD... BOSTON CELTICS 1980S and 90S... Glad that I learned about all of you and enjoyed all of you since I was a little boy !!! Y'all inspired me..😃💡💞
Nick Smith NBA’s LEGEND status is already established…this further cements the legacy quite solidly. Well done once again. Thank you for your efforts once again. Cheers to the fruits of your labor! 🍻🍻
Much appreciated
Thank you for all your hard work putting this together .
Really appreciate the work you put in, Nick. Thanks for the uploads, I was hyped to see the part 2 at the end because I would have clicked on part 1 again anyway.
Appreciate that!
Absolutely brilliant editing. Well done!
I never realized that Larry and DJ were so close.
Hes in my top five GOAT. He was that good. Always underestimated. He and Magic saved the game no doubt. Would love to see a pt. 3
Always have time for a Larry Bird story.
Thanks for another list of great Bird stories.
BIRD ,BIRD , BIRD...WTF is BIRD...
Damnnn ! That brotha can play ....
Awesome video love to see Larry's unbelievable play
Definitely a Part 3, i though i’ve seen most bird stories but there was a lot here i never saw.
that 65 footer never ever saw that shot'
Good work this is the best video I've seen really showing all of the stories, many other cut them short.
Bird’s biography should be titled “That F’ng White guy can play”
Among The GOATS
That's racist AF.. why he gotta be that white guy that can play? So we allowed to say that about Black QBs in NFL or would that be racist? Why he have to be a white bball player? Why can't he just be a bball player? I'm sick of the blatant, acceptable racism towards white people in today's society
@@oldmansportsog2514 it’s a direct quote from Charles Barkley. Is there a double standard? Sure there is. All the crap we give black people, though, they can have this one.
Mercedes microphone??

I see Larry bird I click play 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Hope you enjoyed
Could listen to super stars praise super stars all day good job.
I know I'm late for these but I love them! Great compilation of clips & very well put together! Thank You!
Respect to the great Gary Payton too for his version of this 👏
Good stuff! I have seen most of them before but they never get old! Thanks😊
Dude these videos are always a great watch keep em coming!
Thanks Jon
No problem man! Idk if it would work or not but maybe use this same concept as these videos but with teams or duo/trios, like magic kareem lakers any of the good Boston eras, Detroit in the 80’s golden state and Miami in the 2010’s!!
I don't think that the game will ever see that again. There is talent but not the Charisma ..I re-watch these wonderful posts. Thank you
These are stories I haven’t heard before. Stories like him busting a shot on Xavier McDaniel are repeated non-stop (still great). These are fresh. Nice work.
80s NBA trash talk was for fellow players, not camera, crowd, referees and talent agents
@@earlpipe9713 There are people who, when hearing these stories, wish that Bird had been mic'd up. 🤦🏻♀️
Bird wasn't talking for publication.
It was game talk, "table talk"
He would never have agreed to a mic. I doubt any of them would have in that era.
I am sure its alot of time involved putting something like this together. Great job 👏 there's a lot Great players in those interviews.
Very much! Thank you. Yes, please, #3.
Will do!
Nothing better than these. Keep it going, 3 would be loved
Nick thanks for the excellent videos ! I have always been interested in stories about Connie Hawkins. He was selected as 1 of the greatest players of all time, when the NBA 1st came out with the the greatest ever list. Now it seems as if he's dropped down with the most recent list. His skill was phenomenal. Take a look at his story.
Larry Bird has always been and will be my favorite ball player of all time, no one else will ever touch him.
Great video. Some parts I never seen. That's hard to do...he's my favorite.
I grew up watchin Bird play, the Golden Era of basketball without a doubt! As a 50 year Nuggets fan, I couldn’t be happier now watchin my Nuggets and The Joker play basketball, truly poetry in motion. The greatest compliment Jokic has ever been given is from Pop, who calls him a 7’ Larry Bird…This video has not only reminded me of Bird’s unique greatness, but also helped me appreciate just how good Jokic is right now. Highly suggest for anybody who hasn’t spent time watchin Nikola play, if you like Bird, spend some time watchin The Joker, I promise you’ll enjoy your time! Again, thanks for reminding me of “back in the day” Larry certainly is a Legend
Great episode, good job on your format, I just can't understand who is in charge of the ranking of NBA all greats players but Larry Bird is definitely in the top five with that killer instinct that defines a greatest player that is willing to destroy your whole entire team and could actually do it. Hat's off to Mr. Larry Bird.
Top 2, him and MJ.
@@raymuniz113
True that!
Definitely do a part 3 pls. I could listen to 80-90s ball all day
Bird was an amazingly gifted man
Nick you're dope as hell man! I've been watching your videos 5-6 years! Always a worthwhile watch, I appreciate the hours of content! Hearing the respect/admiration/love from all the colleagues and witnesses of the stars of your videos paints a vivid picture to who these stars were.
To someone who wasn't alive ,but respects the history of the sport, your channel is a dictionary to history!
Selfishly I'll be waiting on the next video. You'll forever have a fan in me, thanks man.
Nobody better EVER. NOBODY. 👍 ☘️
I loved the Celtics my whole life, but when orlando got a NBA team, I was 50/50 soo good to see you Dennis Scott!!!
Part 3 please Larry is that dude
Working on it!
