Nearly thirty years since this performance and it still sounds as powerful now as it was then, a shiver down my spine and a tear to my eyes. July 2021❤🌏🙏🇬🇧
What always amazes me is the diversity that Moya possesses She sings the most haunting songs in a storytelling mystical fashion then goes on tour with Schiller. There is nobody in the universe like her. A band that revolutionized Irish music. A new sound for a new age.
Moya's voice, the instruments and the atmosphere they create, and it is live......just incredible. It gives me goosebumps and brings up so many emotions. There is no other band like them! So glad I grew up discovering this music as it has become part of me!
Such haunting tune and lyrics. An amazing song from one of my favorite films - "The Last of the Mohicans". Some of the most beautiful music and cinematography ever made.
She's wearing the Celtic sword brooch I gave her at a Clannad concert in Kentish Town in 1988 or 89. I've seen her wearing it in photos but didn't think she'd still be wearing it 4 years later. I'm very happy.
Here you are, bring tissues. It's Clannad in recent years performing this in a cathedral which results in one of the most otherworldly and stunning performances possible. th-cam.com/video/G0np-5xbkus/w-d-xo.html
A wonderful song from one of my favorite movies - "The Last of the Mohicans". What spectacular cinematography and amazing music this film has, A truly epic film.
not power as in volume, shes always one of the most over-dubbed singers,,my daughter was national champion at singing, making the point powerful singers hurt your ears, thats why they used to sing on a stage without mics
I truly enjoy the CD I have. Brings me memories from the 80s TV series The Adventures of Robin Hood. Robin the Sherwood. I fall in love with their music and fallow them.
If you've never seen The Last of the Mohicans, you MUST. Don't get the edited one missing the Clannad song and drawn out fort battle. The soundtrack really adds to the atmosphere of the film. It's a great movie, really.
An inspiration, I dedicate this with love to all who have brought joy and love into my life, I am eternally grateful and will never forget any kindness's. And also to the others.
well, mourning song after Uncas dies protecting the woman he loves and she intentionally follows him to the "Happy Hunting Grounds" rather than accept a life being raped repeatedly and doubtless painfully by Magua, who is written as a viler beast than any Wyandot (bka Huron) warrior not so insane he'd probably be shunned by his tribe! By the way, James Fenimore Cooper, the author of "Last of the Mohicans", made the first mention of "Happy Hunting Grounds" in an earlier book about Native Americans! A modern indigenous scholar denies any afterlife concept translatable as that was part of indigenous culture and it was something dreamed up by white people! There were plenty of Mahicans long after the Hurons went hundreds of miles off their turf to help their allies the French in their war against the English (the French settlers had a massive fur trade with many indigenous nations long, long before the Brits got greedy, thanks to a couple of French traitors named Radisson and Grosiliers) The loss of one warrior of the fictitious Uncas or Chingachcook's stature, would doubtless have mattered, though dying in battle defending his people was held to be heroic - but Mr. Cooper was exercising extreme literary license regarding their extermination! Their descendants are reviving the Mahican language these days, despite it becoming extinct in the 1930's when the last person who learned it from his parents as a toddler died! One last bit of weirdness about all movies and TV series based on the book - the Pathfinder's real name in the books, Natty Bumpo, wasn't thought nearly romantic enough by Hollywood. But I digress - this song regards Chingachcook missing his son and promising they would meet again when Chingachcook died - presumably with Uncas joined with the lady who died with him. I've never heard of afterlife residents in ANY culture being thought of as having children unless they were worshipped as gods - so no half white grandchildren, methinks!
Im going to see them next March in Edinbrugh ^_^ I actually cannot wait!! LOTM is a favourite movie of mine from when i was a kid, I remember i was 4 the first time i seen it. I think it was then I became obsessed with Indigenous history! Moya Brennan 'Enyas sister'' what a voice x
The woman that I have loved for the first time I saw you. I will find you again! I dreamed of you last night, no matter where you go , I will love you! We were from different worlds, mine rodeo and you society! I will find you in my heart!
A great soundtrack to a great film: the haunting Soaring vocals match the beautiful natural expanse of the visuals so well. Thanks for cleaning up the sound Too. Some real garbage here as to sound quality on TH-cam sometimes.
Wow. This is the Voice of an Angel 😇...here on Earth ..... Stunningly Beautiful..... Ethereal...Sublime ......😔😔😔🙏🙏🙏🙏
😢 I miss you my son, my warrior. You left so soon. I'll find you if it takes forevermore 💔
EXACTLY
the sense of this song... NOT a love song by the girl who already joined her hero, the warrior Uncas!
Moya Brennan has such an incredible voice, the whole family are amazing. It would be great to see Enya and Moya on stage together again.
The Last of the Mohicans is a powerful story! The soundtrack is just as powerful! 30 years later! 12/03/23.
😢❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Mad but I have never watched it but going to tonight..with my girlfriend movie night quality time..
Have Kleenex ready
Remember now, it's a film. Some historic facts, but fiction written in a screenplay. It ain't a documentary.
Don't say irrelevant and stupid comments related to this song....be sympathetic and understand the Irish struggle to be free from the English/ British
The Irish have such a unique form of music absolutely fabulous.
Paul thanks you
Go raibh mile maibh agat a chara! Xx

Moya Brennan has got the voice of an angel
Have you heard her sister?

My god this is beautiful and I loved that move - The Last of the Mohicans.
This will have been almost to the hour I was born. My birthday, July 9th 1993, late at night, and what a song to enter the world to
Nearly thirty years since this performance and it still sounds as powerful now as it was then, a shiver down my spine and a tear to my eyes. July 2021❤🌏🙏🇬🇧

Awesome!
I missed it. I'll regret that for a long time
They are playing a one off concert in the Royal Albert Hall in October 2024

@@pamelamoncada7047 you are wrong! Sorry where is ear Miss Enya. Can you tell me? Thank you🇵🇹
@@pamelamoncada7047 she is not Enya, is your sister, your name is Moya Brennan.
I feel like every feeling of love and loss and time and joy in all of the 18th century is inside the song..... It's like from heaven!

Also the acting from all the actors...outstanding
I was just a kid and couldnt even comprehend film, but the scenes and music...i still remember.
