My 2 year old son & I dug our first water hole in yesterday. He was super helpful throwing dirt and sticks back in the hole😂😂 will have some good pics on the memory card.
Oh Jeff, u got my brain going again. I didn’t have this problem when I was in school. I guess there should have been a whitetail class then I would have paid more attention. Thank you
Great info once again Jeff. Ive slowly got my neighbours on board with setting up some food, cover etc on his AG property directly behind me. Now im not only working with my own 10 acres but now also working with him to set up some pockets on his 120 acres behind me. Fingers crossed we can set up a decent herd between us that we can grow out over the next few years to be able to have a consistent hunting parcel.
2nd yr switchgrass weed control- IS IT TO LATE TO SPRAY? Our soil temp is 51 average. I'd like to spray if ok yet. *Please advise * Thanks for your valuable help and continued expertise Jeff!!
On 2nd year, you only spray Simazine before spring greenup. Then, I would mow when the switch is several inches high and then spray 1.5 pints per acre of 2-4 in June for broadleafs, or 6 ounces of quincloric for Foxtail
Turkey, sheds and mushrooms and planning yourself some kinda habitat solution will have to do. Don't forget to fish also if you're into it. But yes...I hear you man!
Any other suggestions for spreaders outside of earth way? Bought 2 lat year and one already has a rip and ones handle broke in what I would call normal wear and tear.
Hi Leo, we don't...not yet anyways! We have also been in contact with Earthway. They changed the design and it made it unusable to us. So at this point it's kind of frustrating... We are searching!
Man I look forward to every one of these vids. Can’t wait to get in the bush this weekend. Your the man Jeff! Can’t thank you enough for the steady stream of info

That young fella will never forget that hole with his dad!
Good job..keep em out there in nature.
When you talk about a buck acting and thinking on his own you are spot on. I’ve witnessed this many times now on my plots.
Happy Birthday Jen!!

Awesome content, do you have specific info on how to create whitetail habitat on previously stripped/mined land?
Thanks Peter!! That's a tough one. Int resting to see what is already growing there
Yknow… all these hunting videos coming out in spring just make me want to will winter to come faster 😂

Get a SOLO spreader. Its white hard plastic. I have used mine many years.
Do you count small shooting plots in the woods on your transition as part of the reset for depth of cover? Still have the core space for buck bedding.
Hi Jerry! Not too much but typically they are off to the side of the cover too
🦌😁
Ha, very fast!
It Dosent take much!!!
Not much at all!
