    That's what I imagine my smokers' lungs look like on the inside. I'm surprised that fan didn't catch fire years ago. Good job. Just perfect for your workshop/garage!

    I thought you were going to have to break out the chisels with all that bunker on grease. Great job!

    I'm sure you at least had dish washing soap in the kitchen... It was hard watching you struggle like that.

    Well this was an unusual restore cleaning thing job, so interesting then to us, looks to be from a professional kitchen a restaurant of it is this dirty high usage we are thinking. As head machine shop chef here at AA cooking is something I must perform daily says Lance.
    Came out really well materials in the kitchen can be suborn you re-purposed for your shop really cool thing to do.
    Thank you, Lance & Patrick.

    The acetone was eating away at your latex gloves, that's why they were falling apart. And you should have soaked all the parts in rubbing alcohol that would have dissolved all of the grease and gotten in to all of the cracks and crevices that the acetone didn't. Just trying to make your job easier😁😁😁

    • @yarimasu8760
      @yarimasu8760  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. I will try alcohol next time. 🙏

      I'm wondering if degreaser would work as well. At least it wont start dissolving plastic (and gloves).

    • @aviohebshalom3392
      @aviohebshalom3392 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah degreaser might work as well but it won't eat away at the grease as fast as the alcohol will do the job. And no degreaser won't eat away at plastics or latex gloves

    • @aviohebshalom3392
      @aviohebshalom3392 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't forget to soak it in the alcohol😁😁😁

    And for all of you guys that are a fan of Yarimasu and his work, here's a little big of trivia for you. If you were ever wondering what yarimasu means, it's a Japanese very that basically means to "do". Like in the phrase " watashi ga yarimasu " which literally means " I will do it ".🙇🙇🙇🎌🎌🎌

    Brush with acetone, then wipe with hot water. Easier, no need for double gloves. Even dish soap with hot water might have worked instead of acetone.

  • @garymucher9590
    @garymucher9590 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Don't know where you are from, but if you have access to a produces like Purple Power or Super Clean, you could have cleaned all of that grease off using those cleaners and mere water. Acetone works, but can also dissolve plastics and such. A serious degreaser and a water hose outside would have made short work of that cleaning. JMHO

      @yarimasu8760  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think he is in Japan 🇯🇵 - this style of extractor fan is mass produced in China and used throughout that part of the world, the only thing I don’t like about it is the overly exposed impeller - must be installed high up/out of reach. The kitchen that threw out this fan hopefully installed a proper commercial extractor hood with grease filtering 😉🌟

  • @paulorth2251
    @paulorth2251 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have to agree with the other people who are wondering why you didn't dissemble the fan not that clips keeping it together, but you did clean it up okay. A better job could have been done by taking it apart and spraying it with hot water to soften it up. Good job, to much work on it.
