Me and my friend were there at Terre Haute for our week of Indy leading up to the 500. I remember watching the flip and like most wild accidents you see live, it felt like slow motion when it happened. What was concerning for me in the moment was, after the wreck and the majority of the safety team went out of the track to take care of Brady, there was one ambulance sitting in the infield that wasn’t dispatched. Then about 7 minutes or so after the accident happened, that ambulance then started driving out of the speedway to the scene and my heart dropped and I thought it wasn’t gonna be a good result. Thankfully after 10 minutes of fear and praying, they announced he was ok and I never let out a bigger sigh of relief in my life.
Need to do the zeb wise fire crash , the billy wilburn crash and there was one from loud pedal where the car breaks an axle and goes into the fence at a track in Cali it was nuts
I have crashes for you if you make a part 3. 1. At Knoxville around 2000, Billy Wilburns flipped about 2-3 times. The crash took a strange turn as Wilburns was unconscious and his foot was still on the gas pedal. His car would spin violently until it stopped after slamming into the embankment. He would be taken to a hospital and he was alright. 2. Around 2014-ish, Markus Niemelä would spin out entering turn 1 at the Oval Nationals. The car would flip until violently tankslapping the fence. After he hit the fence the crash stopped and he landed on his wheels. The roll cage actually CAVED IN on him and he suffered a concussion from the crash. He was okay. 3. In 2021. Zeb Wise would slam the wall with the back end of his car in turn 3 at BAPS Speedway. As soon as the car hit the wall, the car burst into a fireball. The car would flip on his roof. Thankfully, all the fire would be extinguished immideatley after his car stopped. He had no injuries and was okay. [EDIT: I never noticed that he already made the video and notified everyone about it 1 day before I made that post. So I guess these are suggestions for part 4..??]
After 20 yrs. of racing sprinters wing/non wing, dirt & asphalt knowing and competing with so many of these guys. I must say you've probably done the best crash videos (of which there are many) commentary and mostly to those who didn't survive with utmost respect to their families & friends.
Thank you it means a lot!!! I always want to respect those who have lost a loved one in this Motorsport, I know if I had anyone in my family who lost their life in a crash I sure wouldn’t want to see it online
I don't know if there is footage of this but at a usac east coast race in Delaware driver Tim buck Walter flipped and got hit mid air. The cars frame was mangled and cracked all around the head.
And to think, nost of these videos were done at Knoxville Iowa, some cars had been known to flip out of turn 1 and 2 to go out of the track and onto Hwy 14 just outside of the track
Next video should include Alex Bright from this past Sunday 7/23. Worst wreck I've ever seen in person. Happy to say he is alright but it was scary watching his hand and head go limp on the front stretch
I was at the speed palace in 85 when van may wrecks and remember the fire and the chopper landing. They had a wreck at a start of the feature that a transformer blew and all the front stretch lights went out and all you hear is metal crashing.
i forgot when you post a another part on sep 2 there was a sec car crash one almost flew out the track and 2 just flip and both drivers went too the hosptail
I know very little about sprint cars...but in the last clip of this video, why are they investigating why he hit the wall? I would think that guys hit the wall all the time....but could they be looking into why the fuel tank ruptured?
th-cam.com/video/UFiIJWiNP-U/w-d-xo.html this one is from the perth motorplex in western australia the driver suffered a broken shoulder when his seat broke after hitting the pole and traffic light
Great work! The only person I've ever heard tell the 1985 Tuscarora crash story better is Van himself. 👍 Not sure if you're interested in other "sprint car like" cars as well like midgets, silver crown and stuff? But I have a photo series from a wild one in 1969 of a Super Sportsman flip (also called a 30x90 car, Bug, or Super Modified) if you are. My grandfather was on the crew of the car and got these pictures for my dad when he was a kid. The driver was thrown around during the flip only held in by a lap belt, his arms and legs outside of the cage most of the time (circled in red in the clip). He suffered a broken arm and severe concussion but survived. I can get my dad to give a more detailed version of events. th-cam.com/video/DGaqRZi61vI/w-d-xo.html
Thank you!! And I could possibly make videos like this in the future for other types of cars like midgets and silver crown, so if I ever do in the future I’ll let you know! Just seen the video you sent and that would be perfect for a future series
I'm not an authority on the Macedo wreck but the way the car cut and turned it almost makes me think a front torsion bar stop came off or stripped out or the bar broke. Maybe not the case but seen several cars hit exactly like that after losing spring tension on one side of the front axle. Donny had a similar wreck during hot laps a few years back and it was a torsion stop. th-cam.com/video/LlO0GH9xfCE/w-d-xo.html
I've been trying to find video of a 410 sprint car crashing through the fence at manzanita speed way and the engine landed on a car in the grocery store parking lot and what was left of the sprint car was scattered in the intersection
Really enjoy how you mix it up with older videos and newer videos.

Kim Mock & Curtis Boyer @ Knoxville Nationals! Happened right Infront of me on the back stretch. I can still hear the carnage from that wreck

I’ve seen that crash before, it’s even more terrifying knowing what happened to him after. Didn’t he die a couple times and was resuscitated?
