Thanks Troy, Really needed this this morning, so over whelmed and this took my mind of it all until i remember i need to put the Rival back together! and yeah of course it's not a race buggy, but dude that thing handles well on track, some tweaking, i bet you're up there with the pack.
Good run with the Kaiju at the track. Very interesting because I plan on getting one soon. Track set up to make it lower to the ground would be cool. Where you running 4s or 6s that day? Great video👍
So where did you feel you were losing time vs the faster vehicles? Looked like speed through the corners and punch for the jumps, but I am not sure if that was vehicle or driver? Also, did you get a transponder in it that worked with the track timing system?
Yes, I had a transponder in the vehicle to get the times. The truck is just heavier and taller than race-spec vehicles, and the general alignment is not set for race conditions. I was slightly slower everywhere.
I'm tempted to start racing. Been buying my parts from a local club manager and he wants me to start. I have a team magic seth slightly longer b8. After watching this I'm going to try a car I know rather than buying a race buggy. I love the raw videos bro. Keep them coming. Team magic probably built this car. As they make many for red cat
@@RoadsideRC Thank you for your quick reply I like those tires and wheels very nice! I ordered a set of the front upper arms off Amazon got them on the way too. Appreciate all of your help. The Kaiju EXT does need some assistance with the links failing but that suspension feels dialed in right out of the box. Seems like a very nice truggy overall
Nice vid, I love both my kaiju, they may not be arrma tuff but once you get the kinks worked out there like a blast… I mean stuffing a real 6s 8th scale power system into a rig that comes in almost a pound lighter then a max has to be fun! I just got my free replacement set of tie rods with the right metal from redcat. I hope the teething pains don’t hold back an otherwise promising and expanding platform. The kaiju fit a nice slot bigger and faster then 10th scales and smaller, lighter and more nimble then a full 8th scaler like a kraton
I’m a newbie but what advantage do these tires have over stock? I have the same truck and I got a more aggressive set for mud and snow but I feel like the stock tires would be great for this
With all of my Redcats - it seems the steering never self-centers quite right. I have not tested it, but I wonder if a transmitter and receiver upgrade would help.
The strength of an RC is only determined by how you use it. If you use an RC the way its intended to be used you shouldnt break anything like you just showed. its only when you push it that things start breaking, as you said you were able to get into the 21sec a lap range if you pushed any harder to keep up with the faster RCs you would probably have bought it home in pieces and as anyone will tell you "its impossible to have fun with a broken RC".
@@RoadsideRC I have been on and left many forums and FB groups where people continue blame the manufacturers for their RC breaking and in some cases, yes that is true as you pointed out in another video about this truck it was in fact a manufacturers error that was causing breakages. But I have found that in 9 out of 10 cases it comes down to people doing something the RC wasnt designed to do.
@@dirtdevilrcmotorsports I have to blame the manufacturer because I have the original Kaiju, v5 6s Tyhoon, Slash, TRX Bronco, Bigrock and Bezgcar 1/12 scale and have not broken any of them. The ext has half the range of my Original Kaiju and it loses reception peridocally and other times takes off on its own. I updated to a DX5C CONTROLLER and it continues to act up. None of my other rigs do this and it is obnoxious becsuse it ends up plowing into curbs and breaking the whole front axle and arm. It is not my driving it is the machine. Like you said, it is fun to drive when it works. Out of the box I hit 63 mph which is faster than the Kraton and Maxx but it is a shame it has these issues. The pinion gear periodically grinds as well. Not sure what the deal is but I got a defective one because the original has been phenomenal, an absolute tank with zero issues.

Glad to help!
Awesome video and Rc brother
Excellent run and camera work
Thanks for sharing my friend
Happy New year
Have a good one and stay safe
👍🥶👍
Thank you!
Happy New Year!
lots of family fun racing Troy looked like it stood up well to the test
*left a like👍Au👍full watch*
Thanks Billy!
Looked like a lot of fun with that big car. Great video 👍🏼
Thanks!
Looks like a lot of fun, very cool vide 👍
Thank you!

I was using 4S - that is standard for e-truggy racing.
Looked like good fun.. Id run that all day with no problem at all
Yes! I'm not winning any races...but I'm having fun!
That seems to be a cool truck . i have a e=revo back there bunch of upgrades . needs motor
I bet it would be fun at the track also.

Very fun video!

You might be right!
Go give it a shot. Even if you don't win, just have fun!
Fun experiment Troy 👍 Maybe if it could have been lowered more that would have helped. You have been having alot of fun with this Truggy!
Yes! This truck was VERY tall compared to the competition...and that is with the suspension as low as it would go...
Did you change or check the differential fluids? Any recommendations for oil weights? Nice video! What tires and wheels are those?
All shock and diff fluids were still exactly as it comes from the box - no changes.
The tires are these: amzn.to/3JSiRIl

I am very happy with it for sure!
Looks like it would actually do pretty well with some more suspension tuning. Seems a bit too stiff in this vid.
It is too stiff, and too high. It would need a set of springs at minimum.

I agree 100%!!!
This truck really is under-appreciated. It is a SOLID design and great performance.

A proper set of race tires makes a HUGE difference around a track!
You have any problems with the steering ? I can't seem to get mines straight

I have a traxxas slash 4x4 that I converted to a backslash so it's now a 1/8 scale e buggy I want to c if it can be raced
Depending on the track organizer, I think they will let you run it in 1/8 buggy.
Good luck!
@@RoadsideRC hopefully they will I race 1/10 off road carpet 1/8 off road dirt is new to me
Amazing how you drive that Red Cat. Still like the broken down Kraton if you're getting rid of it.
Thanks!
Very impressive run Troy. Were there some nitro car sounds in some of the shots ?
Yes! The last place nitro still exists in RC - the racetrack!
This is the same thing I'd like to do with a Revo 👍
I've had the same thought!
Well you can race just about anything, being competitive is a different story.
Yes! 100%
I really wanted this truck but it cost almost $1000 dollars here in Canada with battery and charger 🤯 most of them do
That is rough.

Good vid but on bored cam not so much thumbs 👍
I'm surprised! Folks normally love the on-board shots!
I' like to see the car on how it handles that's my opinion do what you do still like watching stay safe
Cool video you have to subscribe right away.Cool channel just
Thanks!
It's slow, pretty unstable, too heavy, it lacks punch but yes: Can be raced... Somehow.
Dang. It isn't THAT bad.
I hear nitro
Yes - the racetrack is one of the few places where nitro is still commonly used!
