  • The Nest Wifi Pro. Better, because it's Pro! Wifi 6E speeds bring the same but more. I'm not sure if the upload speeds were actual gains or just weird speedtest results but if it's the former then I'm actually quite impressed.
    Good to have a Thread Border Router downstairs. The Nest Hub 2 is upstairs so that means good coverage of Thread Border Routers? I guess I'll have to wait until I have Matter devices to control to find out.
    The ethernet ports are 1 Gbps which is a bit disappointing.
    I am looking forward to the updated Google Home app though. It still does feel a bit dated.

    Hi so basically this is a device to help boost your wi fi ? I’m in a new build and struggling massively with sky broadband with wi fi issues to my console upstairs.

    Fingerprint Maganet... How often do you handle your routers?

    Your internet connection will be your bottle neck when testing with just single client wifi test. I would get a NAS that can go 10Gbps speed and see how fast you can transfer a file from your computer to NAS over wifi.

    Hi, does the Nest Wifi Pro support the Homekit secure feature?

    Did you ever have issues with the old one going offline frequently? I'm experiencing that a lot and considering upgrading to the pro.

      No I had no issues with the old one.

    Openspeedtest is what you want. It'll test the throughput. Not ya isp

      You still need a NAS or a computer and set it up as a file server (smb).

    What wall Router are you using?

      @hometechvids  ปีที่แล้ว

      Was a Draytek but I'm on FTTP now so it's a modem provided by BT.

    The new Nest Pro supports WIFI 6e which the newer 2022 phones all support that's alot faster. I have gig1 from Virgin media but only getting around 500mb/s. I imagine with this router I would get closer to the 1gb/s speeds. Its just too expensive for me to test so hoping to see a video uploaded with these parameters by someone else soon

    • @hometechvids
      @hometechvids  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wish I could test this! Unfortunately Virgin aren't in my area.

      Fact:
      "I do have the one set from COSTCO (4 pcs.) & the 3 different colors set from Best Buy, and I will tell y'all that it is freaking SLOW, even though I have 1 GIG internet with GOOGLE FIBER, period."
      I called and sent feedback to them since Friday, and it's a freaking SLOWWW!!!
      I can only get 100 - 150Mbps with my new iPad M2 & Z FOLD 4, that have WiFi 6E modem, and even with wired to my Mac & Windows computers, I can only get 400 -500Mbps, but when I unplug it and use the NETGEAR ORBI WiFi 6E, I can get the 950Mbps - 1100Mbps (wireless & wired).
      The FASTEST MESH ROUTER in the market now is still the latest NETGEAR WIFI 6E ($1500 - $2000).
      This is another BAD product from Google.

    I have Google Fiber I get 1 gig up and 1 gig down for $70 a month. I got and email from them to move to 2 gig up and 2 gig down for $100 a month. With all the devices in my home I’m thinking about upgrading.

    • @hometechvids

      It does! That's unfortunately the highest speed I can get. My only hope is 5G coming to my area. FTTP is all around us but not in our Mews.

    Here are the FACTS:
    * SLOW CONNECTION (wireless & wired), even with Galaxy Tab S8 ULTRA, iPad Pro M2, Z Fold 4 and PIXEL 7 PRO that all have the latest WiFi 6E modem
    * The hand-off from the main router to the satellites is NON EXISTENT, even I'm far away from it, as it will still hold on to it, rather than the satellite router that I'm 1 foot away
    * WiFi CALLING is NOT working properly, as it keeps dropping our calls
    * There's NO WAY to do a MANUAL software update
    * The customer service/technician (or whatever you call them) are ALL clueless, that I've called and chatted with them, and that they don't know NOTHING!
    I've tried over and over, using wired to my new MAC PRO, and latest Surface Studio computers, and I can't go over 400Mbps, even when I connect directly to the modem, I can reach 1000 - 1100Mbps of internet speed (I subscribed to 1 Gig (Google Fiber).
    Only LIARS will say that theirs is working properly, as I called Costco & Best Buy, and they told me that even they only selling it since last week, there's MORE RETURN than people keeping it!
    Do NOT BUY, and WAIT for GOOGLE to FIX the hardware & software, period.
    Have a great day to y'all!
