I just bought an iPhone 12 mini as an cheap way to test the waters and see if I would prefer to stick to Android or make the jump. I was originally looking at the 3rd gen SE, but the lack of a 1080p OLED display killed it for me. If I like my iOS experience with the 12 mini, and the 4th gen SE steps up from that lackluster display, I'll certainly look into moving over to the new SE.
As a mid-forties iPhone user from Germany, I've had experience with several models including the 5s, 7plus, 11pro max , 13mini , and 14plus . Through these experiences, I've come to believe that Apple should offer a more pocket-friendly model, perhaps one focused primarily on camera quality(single lens) and basic functionality without all the bells and whistles. Personally, I primarily use my phone for calls, WhatsApp, SMS, and various banking authentication apps. I prefer to keep my device strictly utilitarian and avoid using it for entertainment purposes such as watching TH-cam, Netflix, or browsing Facebook. For those activities, I find larger screen devices like iPads to be more suitable within the Apple lineup. In essence, I believe there's a market for a simpler, more compact iPhone model catering to users like myself who prioritize functionality and practicality over entertainment features.

I’ve been looking at the 15 Plus as my replacement because I want the larger battery, but I’ve never been a “big phone” guy and really like the form of the 6.1” size.
I would prefer an XR/11 chassis with smaller Face ID. The iPhone 12-14 edges are too sharp. Either way, I reckon it will be a recycled chassis with the internals upgraded (camera, chip, ram etc). That’s what they did with all prior iPhone SE’s and that’s fine by me. 😊
If Apple is going hard on the Vision Pro then I would think that they would want the 2 camera in-line set up on EVERY new iPhone (no matter what the price point is) to be able to shoot 3D Spatial Videos. I think they just might surprise us with the 2 cameras.

tbh releasing se4 as modified iphone 14 would be a backstab for apple. the only way i'm seeing it is xr chassis (as been said previously) or iphone 12/13 mini. I don't understand this though... That means Apple would essentially be selling a modded iPhone 14 with either a iPhone 14 or faster chip for like $400... Idk how that makes sense as it would make all other iPhones redundant? Or maybe I'm thinking about it wrong and they would reduce ram and cpu or something.

Why wouldn’t they just reuse the 13 mini chassis? I use my phone for phone things. If I want a larger screen and power I go to my iPad Pro. I don’t want a bigger phone.
Summary: Apple will be selling us an Iphone 14 with a usb c, single camera, notch and call it SE 4. Such innovation will blow your brains out.
I would be interested if it just has the same home button on the front as the SE 2/3 even if they slightly change the size or add dynamic island or notch. JUST DON'T TAKE AWAY THE HOME BUTTON. Im not interested in swiping to close out apps and get to the home page
You're living under a rock.
Well your in the minority, the se is severely outdated and it needs to be updated, if you don’t like the home button you honestly need to suck it up
Update everything on the phone just keep it small and keep the home button
@@evanfalls5332
@@evanfalls5332 then don’t buy it? I use SE simply for the home button
Will it have a SIM card
I love the 13 mini, and would definitely buy the SE4 if it uses the small form factor. will be very disappointed if they use the iPhone 14 size :(
I really wish I had gotten a mini.
SE could be rebranding as SMALL EDITION im full in love of mini form factor and im wishing mini phone got dynamic island
FaceID sucks, at least give the option of a digital fingerprint access if they are going to remove the physical home button
I hate notch, punch hole and the dinamic island as well, so tempted to buy the SE 3 before it's gone.
I wish they would use the iphone mini’s chassis..still using my iPhone 12 mini its still functioning really well in gaming and still takes good photos 🙌
I would love to have that smaller iPhones. I think the 12 and 13 mini failed because the prices were too close to the bigger 12 and 13s.
5:02 not to hate but why was it screen recording?
Probably for another video he’s making or another segment of this video. Haven’t watched the full video so I don’t know.
SE is meaningless without the home button, the small size and the LCD screen! Many people love these three features. My late husband loved the SE - he couldn’t get used to Android and the larger format. I know people (still alive) who are like him when it comes to the SE being the best phone of the world!
For my part, i have a wonderful iPhone 12 Mini even though the 60hz hurts my eyes 😢
I like it except for the battery… in 2023 it’s abysmal
@@tree-cy1qn really? My SE 3rd gen battery lasts all day... but then again I am not a social media addict.
@@Cute_MaxiOh.. yes u are‼️ You're making a comment on TH-cam. That's technically social media.
Btw, I love reading these comments on TH-cam, when I'm about to watch a video that I've seen in article or that I'm looking up. The comments make me laugh, to think of how stupid u lot are. And videos like on these phones happens to come on to my YT homepage all the time.
Will the SE-4 still include the physical SIM card tray, or will it be removed and only have the eSIM capability?
Oh they'll absolutely remove it.
Probably esim slots for USA while 1 esim 1 nano sim for Asian markets.
@@CometFire2010 and in it's place will be a useless block of plastic that serves no purpose except to take up space that could be a headphone jack if they could design their phones right.
Is SE3 going to be the last small iphone?
Is the SE coming out in 2025?!?! 😅 EVERYWHERE IT SAYS THAT BUT YT VIDEOS ALL SAY "WE ARE HOPING FOR 2024" WTF
Some of us are delaying the SE3 purchase or 13 mini bc no official word from Slum-Lord-APPLE-Head-Honchos
LoL 🤣
I was just at the Apple Store and I was so tempted to trade in my iPhone 14 Pro for the SE because I love the form factor and I miss the home button that bad 😂
I really miss my 4’3 razr i xt890 nowadays I can’t handle with one hand anymore
I’m still rocking an XR that I’ve liked very much, still operates well. The battery is at 81% and is borderline needing replacement as it drains quickly under heavy use. I’ve been looking at the 15 Plus as my replacement because I want the larger battery, but I’ve never been a “big phone” guy and really like the form of the 6.1” size.
same i got the XR but its not that good anymore
I would prefer an XR/11 chassis with smaller Face ID. The iPhone 12-14 edges are too sharp. Either way, I reckon it will be a recycled chassis with the internals upgraded (camera, chip, ram etc). That’s what they did with all prior iPhone SE’s and that’s fine by me. 😊
I feel the new SE should be like SE3 with 4.7 inch display with full screen. Or they bring back SE 4 with the mini model. Would be excellent
Bring back home button! I use iPhone SE 2020 because of it…
If Apple is going hard on the Vision Pro then I would think that they would want the 2 camera in-line set up on EVERY new iPhone (no matter what the price point is) to be able to shoot 3D Spatial Videos. I think they just might surprise us with the 2 cameras.
Thays not happening. they want people to have the fear of missing out which pushes them to go for the more expensive iphones rather than just the se
@@StarStudios.mp4 Then, why bother with the SE at all? Just to get the money-conscious people who aren’t susceptible to FOMO to buy into the Apple ecosystem? It doesn’t make sense to put out a product that you don’t want people to buy.
@@StarStudios.mp4 Especially when you’ve got this expensive brand new “ground breaking” product that you want people to desire launching soon. If spatial video is a big selling point You’d want Everyone with a new Apple phone to be able to make that content, no?
There's a reason they only put the Spatial Video feature on the iPhone 15 pro. It has a better camera system, along with the LiDAR sensor. The LiDAR sensor helps with depth information. The 3D videos wouldn't work without it is my thought on this.
@@aayushtarhalkar4233Spartial video will prolly also work on the regular 16s which wont have LIDAR sensors. its just the vertical camera alignment. it has nothing to do with the 48mp. if apple wanted to they could put it on the older iphones with a software update but they wont because thats bad business
no home Botton? no mini?
Up about mini size ! No more tiles in my pocket !
They can easily just move the home button to the side and both parties are happy. There was no need to remove it completely
tbh releasing se4 as modified iphone 14 would be a backstab for apple. the only way i'm seeing it is xr chassis (as been said previously) or iphone 12/13 mini. SE always was much smaller than the others + the production line of 13 mini was closed very recently, so maybe they just switched to se4 production (because if apple really wants to release it in march/april they probably have some test models already produced)
if the “SE” is 6.something inches taller, I’m just gonna go and grab the 3rd gen SE refurbished/on sale wherever i find it at this point…
I have a iPhone 12 Pro Max I just brought a few weeks ago I really didn’t care about going for the newest models this phone has the same size screens as the latest ones but not the same battery life or processor but I still think the 12 (all models) is a good phone but the last upgrade I’m getting is probably the 13 or 14 pro max
Iphone 11 chassis, I don't think they'll use the recent design
Touch ID on the edge wouldn't work well with a case. What about LCD vs OLED?
Honestly I prefer it with the iPhone XR style with updating processor and call it a day.
I’m honestly expecting the iPhone 12 mini‘s design
Looks like Apple wants to use the same strategy of Apple Watch SE: more affordable, but aesthetically very similar to the most expensive model. I think they want to appeal to those who usually purchase used iPhones. It’s more similar to XR concept than old SE
as far as price I kind of doubt that it will have an oled screen making the price at little cheaper so I would think that be around $489
Is the SE coming out in 2025?!?! 😅 EVERYWHERE IT SAYS THAT BUT YT VIDEOS ALL SAY "WE ARE HOPING FOR 2024" WTF

I'll pay six 😂bills (600$ maybe more) but that's IF it came out April of this year 😅
About to purchase a SE3 but not pay 429$ I found open box item but new phone for 289$ on eBay so I dunno 😮 😅 it does look new with the initial screen tag for removal ready along with warranty until end of 2024 so maybe 🤔 i pull the trigger my finger itchinG 😊hairpinTriggaFinga playyyyaH
I’m using 2nd Gen SE. I love the small size, simplicity, wireless charging and the fake home button. Enough. Making SE bigger is just a dumb move. Keep it small and simple
i think the se sould use the iphone 13 mini design, just a little bit bigger tho, 5.8 inches for example. It would be great.
I bought my SE2020 in Oct of 2020. It is now Jan 2024 and it does NOT update past 17.0 and is constantly dropping out and glitching and SIRI is USELESS. Why ?
Apple usually have they phone’s updated at least 6/7 years
Only thing missing is SIM card tray. Really need that and keeping me from upgrading
How would it be possible ?
SE 1st Gen --> 2016 March
SE 2nd Gen --> 2020 April
SE 3rd Gen --> 2022 March
SE 4th Gen --> ? Maybe 2024 April🤩
I just want a small phone from Apple! Still holding on to my SE 2022
iPhone SE 4 will use iPhone 13 mini form factor. You need to remember the purpose of SE models, smaller phones with the latest chipsets.
I’m watching this video from my IPhone SE 3 with huge edges and I don’t have any problem with its design. I like how it is and I like the fingerprint reader more than face id 👍🏼
You buy the SE for the home button and smaller screen..... why bother with the 14 chassis. Face ID is annoying and finicky if you have to use a mask in a darker setting.
Just wait for a price cut. Everytime I bought a SE the price goes down by a lot. So this time around going to just skip it.
I hope it will be mini too 🙂
I would like to see a 5.8" body. I would definitely buy one.
I had the iPhone 15 plus then switched to iPhone 12 mini and I actually really like it if the iPhone SE 4 have iPhone 12/13 mini size I most definitely may get it
I do have an iPhone 14 in purple. I also have SE(2) in white as backup iPhone. I also have iPhone 8 in silver grey. The battery sucks on it. SE(2) is still a good iPhone. I used it a little bit over 2 years before getting iPhone 14. The SE is just a little bit smaller than 14. I saw iPhone 13 mini and that was too small for me. I went to my carrier to looked at the iPhones on display in early October 2022. I liked the purple color on the 14 plus. I also liked iPhone 14 in blue, too. My 3rd choice was iPhone 13 in pink. I even gotten 3 cases for the 14 from Target that was for the 13. The cases both fit 13 and 14. Now these days iPhone 15 will fit in the same cases. I’m thinking of the 15 as my next iPhone. I still liked the pink or blue or yellow on the 15.
I was supposed to buy iPhone se 3, but when I went to apple store, I found out iPhone se 4 is going to be releasing. so, I will wait 😊This April ?
if they can make the SE form factor as 13 mini with slightly longer use battery then im sold!
iPhone 13 Mini will continue to be my daily drive and battery change over will be a real thing then it is needed.
I bought the 13 mini already 😢
The iPhone SE 2 and 3 both got the iPhone pro chipsets in them at the time.
I want the mini 13 phone size
Will it be 5G?
a bit healthy criticism: your video lacks chapters or whatever its called on english youtube, this would give viewers the oportunity to skip to the parts they are interested in (in this case features). the information about the phone might all be there, but its all hidden in a 10 min long video of noise.
the only use your video has for me is that it inspired me to do research on iPhone se 24
Is this new phone going to be the size of the iPhone 14 if so they can keep it😊
i have small hands, i can't hold an iphone 14.....
The only problem I have with the SE3 is that it overheats and shuts down in the summer when it's 90F outside.
What version of iOS do you use?
@@Glen7011 Currently, 17.1.2, it is asking me to update to 17.2.1 though.
I was hopping that the iPhone SE4 would take the chasis of the iphone 13 Mini... SE should be a smaller iPhone, ideal for day 2 day activities not for Social Media consumers...
Im a a social media consumer and yet my 13 mini is perfectly fine. If i need a big screen that what my ipad air is for
Your prodoction value is fantastic
and the 48 mp camera is a little much! remember that this is still has to be cheaper than the base iPhone! I can see something like 20 mp at the most!
This would be a total failure. The reason I brought the SE 3 was for the small form factor and touch ID. I have tried face id and it sucks.
2:42
Yes, please do. Oh, but you can’t.
I want two distinct abilities of being able to look at my phone and unlocking my phone.
If the new SE has a seriously good camera, 128gb, better screen, dual sim, face ID, usbc-c, quality case accessory, it might tempt me away from the 13 mini, I said might!.
I NEED it to be 13 mini body
I’m against it because I actually prefer the Touch ID feature the SE models offer and hate the Face ID …..it’s why I got the SE in the first place 1:53
Touch ID has never worked for me!
