Tamed my first level 100 Mosa on the back of a strong Baryonix with an ascendant crossbow and extraordinary kibble. No trap, 160+ tranq arrows. It was hairy, lots of eels trying to get involved, but I did it!

Tbh I love the mosa, it looks so cool and it's huge and strong and all.. but I can barely make myself use a shark, let alone a mosa. Anything besides a basilo I don't really have interest in because cnidaria hide in the darn walls of caves and I feel like they just get on top of me even when I'm paying attention. For a massive underwater-giga/rex equivalent to be brought low by some stingy bois just feels bad.
May be a bit late but pretty sure mosas can't get cnideria shocked

100% this. "Who would win : the Rex of the Sea, or one stingy boi?" For me, the only colossus of the ocean I will spend my time on is the Tuso. They can grab Mosas (even alphas,I believe) and are immune to cnidera... And they do just as much if not more damage than Mosas, and have just as monstrous of HP pools.
@@suddenlysarablog Now if only they didn't take chip damage above a certain depth and didn't require me getting past my Thalassophobia to tame ,_,
@@Boredom_Incarnate I don't think they take chip damage if they're tame... I tame them all the time and I've never had that issue. Can't do anything about the thalasaphobia tho, sorry 😔

I had to do testing for the easiest trap that could be replicated with the least effort... there were some doozies in testing :P

Well, this is useful considering im currently doing Arks story on a PVE cluster, but not transferring any dinos or items as I want each map to be fair. The island is my current goal on completing, I'ma kick the Overseer out of existence, but first tames and artifacts.
Oooh, underwater taming pen. I just play merry-go-around with my bary when taming mosa. Simple, easy, and very high risk since there are sharts and nessies and all other fun things down there that want to eat your face. :D And of course once the game of merry-go-around turns into a game of tag, gotta make sure bary has some extra movement speed or you're gonna lose that game hard, turning that game of tag into hide-and-seed. Still, having very high quality harpoon launcher or crossbow helps tremendously.
I do the same and it's so much easier tbh. At least in my opinion. One time I was doing it while there were two sharks and a Plessi on me as well. None of them could hit me due to the bad turning radius. A Bary really does make life easy at times.
I just take my basilo and I don't even ride him I just put him on passive and tame the mosa by swimming around em with a crossbow

I play on mobile with the settings of survivor and easy so things rarely get above level 30, I'm doing a water only run where I survive out in the ocean as long as I can, I tamed a Plesiosaur, as well as a Mosa, level 7 and 4 each, my tame was the very first ichthyosaurus I tamed pumped up speed, stamina, and weight, with a few points into health, I used a primitive crossbow with tranquilizer arrows.
Found a level 270 in the northeest artifact cave on the island super excited to try this hes been glitched in the wall enough to not agro on me with multiple runs for crates and artifacts so I'm hoping I can agro him out the wall then spend the next 5 minutes spamming traqs lol

Yes, Phlinger, mosas are pretty much the gigas of the sea. Except tamed ones don't suck.
lol, when you said there are 2 or 3 along that shelf i almost died. i wish youtube could post pictures because i have a snapshot from my save file of at least 100 of them right in that area. thats my usual starting base, right along the beach where the C is at the bottom. i dive into the water there and there was like 4 or 5 alphas surrounded by between 50 and 100 regular mosas. might be exaggerating a little but there are just soo many i cant even count them all.

For soloing the ark are all the maps that you have single player or is it a server where you can transfer your things. I mean can you transfer between maps on a regular single player? I thinking about getting scorched this Christmas.
Yes. You can transfer between singleplayer worlds. It just a lot harder to do since you HAVE to do it at the obelisks or terminals and aren't able to do it using the supply drops.

Used a sarco and basilosaurus, basilo for clearing the area from jellies then sarco for tranqing, i got it stuck at a cave
Sooo the mosasaurus only eats kibble? Or is the food bar needs to be completely empty??? Bc I’ve waited hours n lots of biotoxin to get it halfway down in the food bar but he still isnt eating??

How did you get your cryopods to work? Every time I try releasing mine, it just crashes the game. So now I just have them stored in a cryofridge

do an abcs of coel and sabertooth salmon and other fish basket tames mine always die and idk why I've put glass over them so they can't jump out of the water gave them berries and made sure they ate and they just start taking damage and dieing for no reason

first time i tamed a mosa it was a lvl 180(max) i was on my sarco and shooting with basic crossbow. just swim around it and it can never hit you. it was really easy
Mosa tame is easy. Just build a trap and lure in in. I used a sarco to tame mine. Faster then mosa and u can fire off his back so u don't run out of stam underwater. If u build the trap correctly can also be used to tame dunk and please
Yellow I got a lev 19 sarco and a lev 3 mosa I found and I've been planing to ta.e it with 40 tranc arrows with cross bow and 56 bio toxin I'll update yellow if I do it ps I'm lev 45

I just tamed a mosa, was 85, but im taking it. I litterally face tanked it with my brave Baryonix named Barry lol, i just shot it with my ASC crossbow till it went sleepy sleep, then dumped about 30 prime meat on it and stood watch :)

Ye i think the biggest nerf to these sea giga/rex is not being immune to those stingy bois n eels
My favorite thing about Mosas is they have enough health for me to hop off and take my time killing any jellyfish it runs into. My least favorite thing is that it's just as weak to jellyfish and eels as anything else

Can you build a mosa trap on a mosa?
Maybe? you can't place behemoth gates on a platform saddle so can't use this sort of trap, might be possible to extend the platform out with foundations then build a pen out of regular gateways to exploit the mosa's ceiling by getting it as high up in the water as it will go then get underneath it to block it in, I've seen another youtuber do this using a megachelon so should be possible on a mosa
I've been all around the islands ocean and not once have I seen a Mosa or Tuso.
I’m Lvl 71. Should I tame a mosa?
It all depends on your equipment and skill. Like Phlinger said you will need a really good crossbow and a "good" mount to tank the damage of a high level one. Getting a low level mosa is cool and all for training to tame a high level, but you can't last that long in a fight with lets say an alpha tuso. I only tame level 120 and above then make sure to breed and imprint one if you really want to rule the ocean.
My 700 oxygen should serve me well in this time

Hey so there are no mosas, teusos or gigas spawning where they usually found on my single payer game on the island. is my game busted or something
Gigas and tusos are super rare and sometimes they don't spawn

Mosa is as hars to tame as megalo. Just swim on frog or sarco and keep shooting. If u in danger swim up and mosa will stop folowing you then come back and keep shooting. Just to mention problem is a time. 150 mosa need about 60! kibble on official 😂
If not for jellyfish these guys would be more appealing. I’ll stick with basilosaurus.

The mosa is like the rex of the sea, which is no match for the giga of the sea. That's the tuso by the way.
Feel like there is no giga of the sea just yet, tuso is somewhat of a "yuty of the sea" in power level imo.
A giga of the sea would be say, something that can take on 4 basilos no matter the saddle... and it'd probably be completely immune to shock.

King of the Ocean until some shocky little itty bitty comes along. Also, the attack hitbox is crap.
I run deep sea loot crates with an Ichty for speed plus a Basilo in my pocket, in case I need to clear s spot or decide to visit a cave.
Mosas have no place outside the Moeder fight imo (pve).

I wouldn't recommend this guy in caves...
Jellyfish & Eels are way too frequent and annoying.
A mosa's bite radius is large enough that if you're paying attention, you can kill Cnidaria before they get close enough to shock you. And if you've got a high enough level mosa, eels are just annoying, not deadly. We always use mosas in the caves.
@@DualKeys The issue is the jellyfish swarming you (big annoying turns) or being just around the corner. ONE shock is gameover, especially if they "sink" into the mosa.
Eels are annoying because you deal drastically lower damage when shocked, which is less than ideal for such dangerous areas.
