Shankar sir you are just exceptional. While i thought and felt you would be sharing the few or most of same books which others have shared and looked as part of your content earlier but no, you proved me wrong by just sharing gem of master pieces from the lot of thousands and lacs of books... Your recommendation not just proves your hard work with an eye for detail, which as always you do for equity market or MF, it's further strengthen different pillars of my faith which has made you as my 1st and a leading choice of educator and a guider... Kudos to you, pls keep up your good work.. many thanks
Hello Ashish, I am happy you can see value in the work I do. I read somewhere that what contributed to the success of Buffett, Marks, Greenblatt etc. is the novelty i.e. they weren't oft-used investing methods of their time. But now these have been copied sufficiently that it starts seeping into everyone's way of investing thereby losing some potency. It was an important point because I felt this should be the case with books aswell and its the non-popular books where the next secret is hidden. I try to pick one unusual book every 6 weeks and even if it gives 3,4 thought-provoking ideas, I feel the book has done it's job. Thanks for keeping the faith in my content
Currently reading "All I want to know is where I'm going to die so I'll never go there" by Peter Bevelin. It is about life and investing lessons narrated as a conversation between a wisdom seeker and Warren & Charlie. Some really good takeaways from Charlie which will stay with reader forever. R.I.P Charlie.
Few other good books suggestions are 1) Five rules for stock market investment 2) Warren buffett portfolio 3) Coffee can investing 4) The essays of warren buffett 5) Thinking fast and slow
It's always good to hear you.... Definitely going to read the books. I have started reading The Intelligent Investor and see it as a beginners holy grail. Keep up your distinct work.
Thank you very much Bikash ji for your support and patronage all through this channel's life. I see that you've also subscribed to the newsletter -- and thank you for the introduction (my three questions)
I have never heard of these books though I know the most common books you have mentioned in the beginning. Exceptional content. I always go through the comments section of your videos and they never disappoint me as some have suggested some other books here. Thank you for the high quality content.
Very informative video sir. i already have 'when genius failed' and 'Reminiscence of a stock operator. Definitely buy the remaining books soon. I recommend that you read Nassim Taleb's books, particularly 'fooled by randomness,' if you haven't read it yet. It provides great insights into randomness, luck, chance, risk, probability, nonlinearities, skewness, asymmetry, and other important concepts about markets and life.
Excellent post again. Against the Gods is one of the finest books I have read in the recent past. Only one book in this list describes how to sell the stocks. But I doubt there are very few books or educational materials on how to exit a business. At least in my case, it is kind of Abhimanyu's state in Mahabharat. I know how to enter Chakravyuha but not get out.
RIP Charlie Munger. 2 other books I found interesting are what works on Wall Street by James o shaghnessey and quantitative strategies for achieving alpha by Richard Tortoriello.
Hello Shankar, Nice video. Thanks for showing us the gem. I've read 2 out of 6 books. Currently reading the same book as you. In your last video on CANSILM you promised us part 2 of that. Hopefully you will get around to doing that video soon. Many thanks to you for book suggestions.
Hi Shankar, Can you give some info on what is happening to the debt and future prospects in turnaround companies like suzlon in you third eye series or your newsletter ?
I'll post one in the next 3-4 days. The first 1.5-2 months will be sporadic as I am to improve it functionally and fashionably. By mid-Jan, the newsletter will be weekly
Thanks for sharing the info. Does these books still valid? People mindset changing with raising Social media content. Still FOMO, risk adjustment, herd investment etc are there but we are learning fast before falling deep into these traps/fails.
Namaste Shankarji- Basis your experience, please rate these sub-asset classes from ‘risk-reward ratio’ perspective (descending order) I.e. 1- Land in suburbs 2- mid-size green patch in rural (near proposed highway) 3- smallcap direct listed equity 4- apartment in any A-city (like Bangalore, Delhi/NCR etc) 5- mutual funds/small cases 6- REITs/Invits 7- Unlisted stocks 8- Commercial real estate?

Why to use fake images on the youtube cover videos
Curious to know - how did you conclude this is a fake?
