That was really good. I'm pretty tired on the train home and I didn't really follow what was happening with modules and clips and why this was a good way to store knitting needles but the narrative drive carried me through and the little details made interesting moments.
The panels not fitting reminded me of your woodworking inspired video. Wooden cabinet makers typically leave a lot of tolerance around the floating panels in their doors. Not just for fit in the moment but for thermal and humidity expansion through the seasons. Because of the anisotropic nature of FDM you might find pieces printed at different orientations relative to each other expanding and contracting differently in different directions.
@@AndrewHelgeCox Next project I Will get these things right! 😃. I have had My fair share of troubles in My projects but wheter it's good or Bad i have another box project in The making (and some other stuff too)
@@AndrewHelgeCox Thanks. I really appreciate it! Im still kind of trying to figure out what format would be best...doing smaller or larger projects or something else. I do prefer larger projects but they take too long to make...so perhaps both.
@@Thingsbydesign I just discovered your channel. I'm new to 3D printing and I don't like large prints - they take time to print, sometimes I even print parts of them which seem likely to fail (large bridges, overhangs). But it's quite good to see design decisions and design flaws and fails of others and iterative design process to know that I'm not the only one who suffers. Because designing something like box with snap-fit lid is a bit challenging, then it works with PETG, but it's too hard printed from PLA or downscaled. On the other hand downloading other peoples STLs is not "fun".
Love the process, and your willingness to show the struggles. I think it's inspiring for others to see things don't always work the first or second time! Not going to lie when you were pushing that first panel down by hand I held my breath! I was so sure something was going to pop! Lastly, what filament are you using? I really like the colours!
@@richardhobson7724 thanks! I bet many creators feel the same. Creating new things is not that easy. Even when i have done these projects for so long, it's very rare to get it right in couple of tries. Im using bambulab pla matte latte and dark brown fillaments

Gonna watch you on my train home from work
Thanks. Hope you enjoy it :).

@Thingsbydesign I'm subscribed. I'll do the bell thing now to not miss it.

@pavelperina7629 welcome to The awesome hobby! 3d printing is fun in a way that you can do whatever you want and you dont need much to so. 🙂
