  • Join Ian (and sometimes Miles) as he attempt to set his home and his body on fire in the name of cleaning out old rubber from broken motor mounts. He'll also get a new CV boot installed and take the #rxfx for a proper shakedown.
The awesome new 3D printed polyurethane motor mounts are from Nick at pahlsperforman... who is aprovider of fine goods for 4age powered vintage Toyotas. Many thanks to him for cutting us a deal on mounts for the FX and for the #RXAW11 that we will install in a video very soon. We'll be torture testing these marvels of modern technology to see if they stand up to the beating that only the OIO crew can provide.

Try a drill on inserts like that next time.

I’ve heard this.. just drill all around then knock them out. It sounds right but.. the fire made a good video 😂

In currently doing the same thing to my fx16 gts and I can’t get the damn joint off I bought a 27$ 4lb sledge and still nothing😂

Ball joints are jerks. See if oreilly has a separator or a whole kit to rent. I’ve had good luck with the type that have the fork on one side and the arm on the other with a big bolt running through that you hammer down with an impact. Good luck!

Hey men how are you what type of coilovers you have in your fx16

They are just ground control threaded collars and some 6in eibach springs. The strut inserts are kyb gr2. Nothing fancy.

Yeah.. I know man.. I know.. I really need to get a vice in that space.. and use hammers way less. I blame having a cold and also not WATCHING youtube before I MAKE youtube.

@@oioracing My personal experience is: "that never turns out well." Even just one direct strike on a spline cost me hours with a file to get them to go together again.
Get a hardtail vise from Fireball 😉 Wife can only kill you once, you know!

@@randyc4959 Luckily the splines were lined up and it was the clip that was being dumb. I wouldn't do it this way again because in the end.. the hammer was pointless :)
