My grandpa served in the Navy in WW2 and was stationed aboard the Langley. She took a Japanese bomb right through her deck and was falsely reported sunk, my Dad was in class when it came across the wire the USS Langley was sunk , you can imagine my fathers fear hearing that, thankfully it was not true.
Just started the game a couple days ago and unlocked the langley yesterday, I only wanna play carriers and this video is perfect timing for me ^^ thanks!!
I know it's T3 but nicely done. I really need to play Carriers cause I play the other ship types but man, I just don't enjoy playing them. Think this is a good series though and will probably help lots of players who do enjoy Carriers. No doubt it would me too if I could get interested in playing them. Good video Ghost👍
Fun Fact: The nickname of the Langley was 'The Covered Wagon' given that the flight deck covered the superstructure of the ship. After the creation of the Lexington class, she was converted into a seaplane tender, basically a carrier that resupplies and repairs seaplanes like the OS2 Kingfisher and PBY Catalina. She was sunk in 1942 by Japanese submarines. Naturally I first started on the US carrier line when I was inexperienced and didn't know the specific ins and outs of different carrier lines. Then I started focusing on the German line. Edit: On a humorous note, I DID once get a Close Quarters Expert in her when being pursued by a destroyer. He was brave but unfortunately (or fortunately) he was in poor health.
Cool story but the Langley was not sunk she was badly damaged and taken out of service but not sunk by the Japanese, sunk by the Americans on purpose by the USS Whipple 75 miles off the coast of Tjilatjap.
Man these planes seem stronger than Saipan's. Those are made of wet napkins.

Hosho is way better than the Langley, you just need to use 2 torp damage inspirations to deal massive amounts of damage to those poor ships

As soon as you seen that Kuma i new it was an instant citadel. There's two ships that i can always hit a citadel with and that's number one 😂
Honestly love this because it’s hard to find updated videos on the lower and mid tier ships, when a lot of our time is spent grinding those TT ships
