- Monkey Wrench Mike continues trying to get his Mercedes 560SEC back on the road. This time, he’s replacing o-rings, fuel injectors, and more! Does it work or not?

Re: stalling. Few easy/small things to do while in there. Cold idle should be 1200 rpm, if not, I would check ICV using a 12v battery while car running to confirm changes in RPM. Check/clean EGR valve/tube. Check CIS temp sensor that's the connector to right of the ICV. Check the plunger mechanism, and check your cold start valve. Cylindrical object at the front right of the engine your "9th" fuel injector. Take it out and spray it inside with carb cleaner. See what kind of gunk comes out. Spray until clean and reinstall. You did double check the firing order on the plug wires and cap, just in case? Run a bottle of Techron and do an Italian tuneup. If nothing up to now, swap the EHA valve and fuel regulator at side of your fuel distributor (FD). Worst case, a new FD.

In future, when replacing o-rings that slip into a recess, try lubing them with a film of grease or, in a pinch, Vaseline. That will help them slip into place without pinching and possibly tearing.
Mike, if I'm not mistaken, that 560SEC is a 1990 model, which means that it is 29 years old. So it is old enough to legally smoke if it wants to. But you went to so much trouble to see that she would not smoke any more, that I am sure that old lady will thank you when she breathes easier as she runs down the highway smoke free. So this is a win-win today! Congratulations to both of you... 😁🏆

I'm going thru all the same stuff on my 88 560sel with 134k miles on it. Smoke test shows my intake plenum is leaking too, in addition to a few injectors.
I just changed that and rebuilt the fuel distributor. Not too difficulty
Now we know when you are going to be doing some real work, the Velour shirt comes out!!

Mike when I pull out old injectors with dry O-rings, first spray with WD-40 and wiggle around some. When you went back in with the new O-rings did you put a little oil on them? Always remember a little lube makes everything work better. Another nice video and by the way the engine sounds very good.

Thank you for giving Randy a hand with his Mercedes disguised as a Chrysler! Was causing him much frustration! Congrats with fixing the smoking issue with this one as well! (Of course, Chantix pills in the gas tank, and a Nicoderm patch on the engine might have helped it stop smoking?)

What if you soaked that injector holder with Aerokoil or something similar first? Any tricks to replacing the two large side vacuum hoses? How about the hose that runs between them? Any opinion on simply having the injectors serviced? I've got a guy who does amazing work. Like to do all 8 of mine.

When replacing injectors, all injectors, holders and o-rings should be replaced at the same time due to the age of this vehicle.
Ohhhh that’s probably my problem even the old ones looks good still but I don’t know I replace one now all of them expect 3 are misfireing now I put alittle oil on the ring and that problem why I hope not cause now it’s even worst no one can help me
Overall, how is it running at this point? Are you happy with the idle quality or do you still need to make some improvements?
Still almost stalls when I press the accelerator. Then when it’s about 2 inches down, it’ll rev up

How can you tell if they are bad even the bad ones still looks good I have a bmw and I replace one that was bad now 3 of them are bad and now the car shakes hard asf like it about to blow

@@MonkeyWrenchMike if you bend hard, this will broke, then you go to Autozone, and buy fuel line and install. New fuel line with regular clamps is just fine. I just did on mine.
