Well.. this was a surprise. Thank you everyone for being here and being so nice! I'm gonna try to respond to every comment but it's hard to keep up lol. It's refreshing to see such a cool fan base in the metal scene. UPDATE I might have to throw in the towel for replying to every comment 🙁 But I have been reading every single one and am blown away by the "Masters and Princesses" support. You guys are a very dedicated and fan base and it's real cool to see.
Welcome to the fandom. And although the energy of that could’ve been the finale, it was just a setup for the song “Play,” which might be a fun follow up for you. And yes. They play just like this, every song, every show, every single time
No sweat, Plexatri! We’re pretty good at entertaining ourselves (if you haven’t noticed.) Just chip in whenever you can! We’d rather you spent more time exploring more BAND-MAID songs than responding directly to us. (I think I can speak for the MAIDIACS on this…?)
I don't know much, but I DO know these two things: 1. Band-Maid is the best, most complete band that I have ever experienced. 2. Roger doesn't sleep. Welcome to the party, Plexatri! 🕊
Our MAIDs just celebrated their 10 year anniversary and toured the US in 2022 and 2023. Yes, all their performances are like this ;) . Every song they have is a "lot of fun to listen to".
@@Plexatri. So many have gone before you in the same way,These ladies are the real deal, check out,,From Now On,,mv,its a an instrumental,,they have several,,its a masterpiece, enjoy.
That's misleading... all of their shows are NOT like this production-wise... the big production concerts are usually saved for special occasions and are usually streamed live and recorded for later dvd/Blu-Ray release... performance-wise, yes, all of their shosws are like this.
@@motley22crue Lol .... some people just live to correct others. Have you seen them? I have ... more than once. Venue size does not matter. BTW, I said "performances", not "production". If you want to make that leap kindly do it in your own comment.
Yeah, the only thing they have in common with BABYMETAL (who I also love) is that they are female, Japanese, and have an unusual visual aesthetic. Other than that, they are two different worlds. The female Japanese rock and metal scene is a very rich and very deep hole, faaaaar more than just BABYMETAL and Band-Maid. LOVEBITES, Nemophila / KOIAI, Hanabie, Aldious, Trident, Hagane, Fate Gear, Bridear, Gacharic Spin / Doll$boxx, Lonesome Blue, East of Eden, Broken by the Scream, Otoboke Beaver, Scandal, Passcode, and many others. Every one of the bands I just mentioned is on an elite virtuoso level that leaves the majority of their western counterparts in the dust!
This song was the 20th of a 21 song set (the maids generally play between 22 and 24 songs at a show). They play everything from ballads to metal, and acoustic performances, not forgetting their trainee Geisha alter-egos Band-Maiko. You really have to watch a minimum of 10 songs performed live to really get an idea of what these ladies can do. Happy watching!
I found Band-Maid last Thanksgiving and wondered the same thing. How have I not heard of them before? Now I recognize that they are a premier rock band and it's a crime our music industry has ignored the Japanese rock scene. Band-Maid has a ton of great songs and a great and passionate fan base that I am so happy to be a part of now. Check out their recent live videos Hate? and Don't You Tell Me from the 10th anniversary at Yokohama Arena. My other favorite live videos are Real Existence, Moratorium and No God. I hope you like them as much as we do and thanks for checking out the Maids.
Here's some opinions and facts: •Bass solos are more likely to happen than not •Guitar solos are shorter, far shorter, than you would like them to be •Unless you are superhuman you will not/cannot be able to pick up everything they're doing to make that song great on the first listen. •Genre? Genres?? We don' need no stinkin" genre! •Youlike this rocker crazy fast tune? Well how about it done as a slower acoustic version? •April Fools Day 2019 As a joke they record a redo of Secret my Lips with traditional instruments andcwith lyrics in a Kyoto dialect. MV is stunningly beautiful. •The linchpin member of the band gets the least notice/praise. The founder/lead singer steps back to make way for a new more rock vocalist. They want her to hold a guitar so she does and learns to play on the fly, performing all the while she's learning. So the person who willed the band into existence, who is the primary lyricist, the only member who sings and plays an instrument most of the timegets the least comments from reactors. Oh yeah she has her own signature model guitar from Zematis. •There is no "I" in BANDMAID. Well ok there is one "I" but my point is the songs are written by BandMaid. Not just Kanami Tono. The highly innovative bass and drum lines are created by Akane and MISA. There are no George songs and John&Paul songs. There are only BandMaid songs. •10 plus years with the same line up. Think about that. •More hooks, riffs and motifs in many songs than most bands have on an album. Check it out. No hyperbole. •Use of puns, wordplay using homophones between Japanese and English are not the exception. They are typical of Kobato's lyrics. •Despite the fact that their LIVE videos are superior to the official studio MV"s the latter are excellent. Funny, graphic, innovative and stunningly beautiful works of art describe what you get with BandMaid's official MV's. •As close to the Beatles in terms of unique persona of the members as any group since the Monkees. MISA is quiet and drinks. Akane is happy and eats, Miku is klutzy and CUTE, Kanami is an airhead who crushes on Saiki and Saiki was the Ice Queen. But the Ice Queen has thoroughly thawed. See Yokohama's Endless Story! Their image is carefully crafted or spontaneous or both. •Many songs have catch phrases or singalong sections to engage the audience. Many songs are in English and Japanese. Most songs are full of joy as well. •They're having a ball. They enjoy performing. They enjoy the fans. They enjoy each other. •Make no mistake, this is not a regular band.
Congratulations you made it to stage three of being a Maidiac on your first view: 1) The bass player is killing it or the drummer is insane, 2) this band is tight, 3) I've got to see this band live.
You are so fucked. You are forgiven for mentioning babymetal but in revenge you are hooked on the maids for life unless you leave the Internet and never see another track from them. Particularly avoid "Hate?" that is seriously bad voodoo. 😂 @@Plexatri.

Roger strikes again! Thanks for the reaction and comments. These ladies are FIRE!!!!! Arguably the best live rock band on the planet. Definitely check out Hate?(official live video) at your earliest convenience. You won't regret it. Cheers!
Their shows are indeed all “like this”. It’s a fscking blast live. Seen them twice (here in the US) Thanks for watching, check out a more recent performance of “Hate?” Live.
Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po! Yes their shows are all like this and they play at this level for 2+ hours! (A recent concert lasted 3.5 hours). I flew from the UK to Japan just to see them live. I saw four shows in nine days and they blew the roof off every time. And they didn't play the same set twice.
You may need to walk back the "I'll respond to every comment" - as of now you're up to 173, but hey if you want to.... YES, they are this good live (I've seen them 3 times) and the experience is beyond description. Massive amount of crowd participation and they have a way of making their fans think they're singing/playing just for you. They are supremely skilled on their instruments, phenomenal songwriters and give off dopamine like nobody's business. They are the best addiction you can ever have. And the more you find out about them as people, the more you'll realize how hard they work, how great of a songwriter Kamani is, how utterly insprirational Miku (aka small pigeon) is, how inventive and awesome Akane is (drums) and how MISA's skills on bass are stratospherically incredible. And there's Roger - turning the world onto Band-Maid one reactor at a time!!
The Maids toured the states in 2022 & 23. I saw them 3 times and I'd see them tomorrow if I could !! Three of the best shows I've ever been to by the best rock band on the planet.......no jokes !! 😏♥️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘
Band Maid are some of the most talented rock musicians to come out of Japan. The band Hanabie is pretty talented as well (especially their lead singer/guitarist). You should check them out as well.
Join the rest of us American guys who have become totally mesmerized by this band. I have seen them twice in Houston, once in Austin and once in Dallas and they were the 4 most enjoyable concerts I have been to. Check out Play Live from this same show. Tons of Audience interaction
These Rock Goddesses are the real deal, ten years of incredible talent, creativity and undeniable charisma. BAND-MAID will blow your mind, while gently stealing your heart and giving you a rock and roll punch worthy of Tyson on his best day. Enjoy the journey you won't regret it, what a fcken band and Onya Roger 👍🍻
Roger Chance, only Santa Claus spreads more joy around the world! It's always so much fun witnessing the birth of a brand new Maidiac! It may sound weird or hyperbolic, but many people note a marked improvement in their lives after their intro to these AMAZING ladies. Hopefully you will too! Thanks for the great reaction! 🤘🤩🤘
Hey Plexatri, you may be way late to the party like I was but catching up is soooo much fun. Check out FROM NOW ON and all will be right with the world. With a catalog of over 120 songs in their 10+ years together there will be no shortage of Awesome music to enjoy. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Peace. 100
Welcome, Plexatri. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 200 million YT views plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (130+ songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: th-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/w-d-xo.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Hate?, Shambles, Influencer, Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, Bestie, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Sense, Glory and Unleash!!!!! (from their own Anime MV (series?)): th-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/w-d-xo.html) And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYUJI concerts: 2023 Yokohama 10th Year Anniversary Concert “Endless Story” th-cam.com/video/Za1y-RRVd70/w-d-xo.html ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” th-cam.com/video/nAdWnIRjGak/w-d-xo.html Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (February 14, 2020) “Domination” th-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/w-d-xo.html ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” th-cam.com/video/-qQnKILR5u0/w-d-xo.html Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD. And some of the better quality fan videos are excellent. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. Band-Maid dominates again!! This is typical of a Band-Maid live show. Watch the latest live videos from the Band-Maid channel, or really anything else. Big, big music catalog. They don't miss!
Kanami (lead guitar) is just a genius songsmith. Add to that Miku's poetic lyrics and backing vocals, Saiki's hypnotizing voice, Misa's intricate bass lines and Akane's imaginative drum patterns, it's all GOLD. Looking forward to more reactions! Po! 😎🤘
Thank you for reacting to the best rock band on the planet. I saw them live last year twice on their u.s. tour. You haven't seen the depths of their musical talent yet.
Sad that so many in the West are not aware of arguably the best rock band on planet earth 🌎, BAND-MAID. Metallica, Foo Fighters, Muse, The Warning, Jinjer…these are their peers yet so few still don’t know the Maids. Thank goodness for Roger and us Masters & Princesses spreading the word; the Maids deserve every recognition they get and should be playing stadiums everywhere. As you continue your journey down the “Pigeon Hole” 🕊️ you’ll undoubtedly come to agree they are one of the top bands on the planet and of the last 10 years. Next - “Hate?” -official live video - “Don’t You Tell ME” - official live video - “Bestie” - official Music Video - “Shambles” - OMV - “Why, Why, Why” - Official online live video - “Manners / Black Hole” - official live video That’ll get you started! Enjoy the journey! Take care and rock on 🤘🏼🔥🎸🥁🎤🎹🎺🎼😎✌🏼
You’re not slow, a large percentage of reactors miss the connection between the band’s name and their outfits. Band-Maid’s groove makes me move, chorus is always memorable, Miku’s lyrics are poetic (Saki’s can be harsh), most of all I feel uplifted and cheerful listening to their songs. Looking forward to more of your Band-Maid reactions
Plexatri , Welcome to BAND-MAID , Enjoy your journey down the Pigeon hole , MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin , I've saw them live twice , there shows are Amazing .
I believe this song is number 23 out of a 26 song set. Most of their one man shows are 2 to 3 hours long. Mixed within the set, the maids interact with the audience (the masters and princesses). Miku, the rhythm guitarist and secondary vocalist, has a special segment about halfway through the show where she talks with the audience and has a call and response with them. It's called Omajinai time (Magic Spell time). This gives the rest of the musicians and the lead vocalist a short break. And recently, the lead vocalist has taken on this duty a few times, and Miku finally gets a break.
This concert was just about the last thing before the pandemic shut down Japan. They're fun! Last November they had their 10th Anniversary concert. Check out "Hate? (Live)" from that show and enjoy the fun burns in the captions. :)
Hiya GG, this was the same tour i saw BAND-MAID when they played London in 2019. It was the last concert i got to see before the UK Lockdown. I saw Metallica just 2 days before as well so at least it was an awesome weekend.😁
Their shows are a blast--absolutely levitating. I saw them in DC nearby and travelled to see them in Minneapolis, Chicago, and Charlotte. Worth every second. Worth every cent. Cheers!
By my math there are a minimum of SIX Roger Chances out there. I assume there is one original and five (or more) clones. There is no way only one man is responsible for all this BAND-MAID promotion alone!
Yes. Their shows are all like this and better and always fun! 120+ great songs to do 😂. And don't compare them with Baby Metal 😅 These ladies are masters at their instruments: Kanami (composer and lead guitar), Akane (drums) and Misa (bass). Then there is lead vocalist Saiki who is perfect for the Band Maid sound and Miku Kobato (rythm guitar, pure energy, most lyrics, fantastic backing vocals and harmonies). Miku wasn't able to play the guitar in 2013 when she founded the band: You may later want to watch the wonderful documentaries by Ohrenje! I don't know of any other band where the fans' playlists differ so much. So, this is just a quite random selection of songs: For some very special live videos try Freedom, Play, Real existence and Endless Story. With Moratorium (Live at Zepp), Rinne (MV) and Dice you can hear more hard rock while more catchy songs are Choose me (MV), Bestie (MV) and Alone (MV). And if you want to hear some ballads then maybe About Us (MV) and Daydreaming (MV) are good picks. But don't miss some of their instrumentals like From now on (MV) and Onset (Live). And finally a very special live performance is Manners/Blackhole (Official Online Live)🍌 And there is more: For example the songs with Miku in lead, their christmas acoustic concert and the 'cover band' Band-Maiko ;-) But if you want to start at the beginning of their career (2013-2017) then go with Thrill (MV, their first video), Real Existence (second video), Alone (MV, first own composition), Freedom(best LIVE performance), Choose Me, Play (LIVE!), ... Some other band recommendations? Then try "The Sixsters" from Ukraine (Pick any song) and "Gacharic Spin" from Japan (song: "Mindset"). Have fun... Po
I am in mid-Missouri and flew to Chicago to see the last gig on their 2022 tour. 100% worth the effort, they crush live. Also big fan of the female metal bands from Japan, especially Nemophila, Hanabie and Lovebites.
Saw them in concert last summer here in Salt Lake City. They are amazing in concert and as a guy in my seventies, they are the best band I have seen in over 30 years. You leave that concert after 3 hours, just trying to piece together what you have watched. It really is spellbinding. It took at least an hour to come down enough to handle the world again. I am not exaggerating - they are that good. Thanks for Band Maid who has given me back joy in modern music Thanks also to Roger Chance for introducing another reactor to these incredible women. I have subscribed, because I like the way you let the music play out and then reacted and they are now in my head with so many songs. Looking forward to traveling along in your musical journey with you. If possible make your next Band Maid song "Hate?" from their Tokyo concert last November.
They don’t travel with a full concert production yet but, damn it, they’re the best shows I’ve seen ever! Same feeling when I discovered them; different song though.
@@Plexatri. It was Band-Maid's about Us. It was my sort of music prior to Band-Maid. You'll see once you listen to it. It's definitely different from Domination and their other Hard Rocking, Progressive sound. :) HANABIE., on the other hand, is Metal!
"From Now On" instrumental by Band Maid. Plexatri, im 60 years old and these ladies are far and away my favorite band. if my internet connection failed i would probably drive six hours just to watch From Now On on a 12 inch black and white tv. yeah i know,, i got it bad. peace to you
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band. Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. Poker shark and horse racing fanatic. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Definitely eccentric, possibly insane. Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors. A sweet, motherly woman who turns into a beast when you hand her a guitar. Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Completely unflappable. Frequently snacks between songs. Has been known to sign her banana peels and throw them to the audience. MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls. Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. Regards her band mates, especially Kanami and Miku, with bemused exasperation. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
Welcome to the party. They have two new live videos that shred: Hate and Don't you tell me. You should also check out Freedom live if you want to see an epic drum solo and Real Existence or Play live. Always choose the live version.
You just listened to the best band on the planet. And yes, their live shows are a blast. Welcome to the pigeon hole… every song is great. They have 120+ songs to go.
As soon as you said new band suggested from the comments, I knew it was Roger Chance! It's always Roger Chance! I suggest Band Maid all the time! But do they listen to me? No! (Ok, sometimes) New strategy: Instead of getting reactors into my favorite bands, I should get Riger Chance into my favorite bands!😂
It’s amazing how the universe sends the right band at the right time ; Band Maid like Guns and Roses in late eighties came at the right time when a lot of metal / hard rock was getting stale , over produced and lyrically vacuous Another great band from Japan is Lovebites Check out live Hammer Of Wrath it’s fucking killer
Now you know why some people fly, literally, around the world to catch their shows, and why on their last US tour some folks went to 2, 3, 4, or more, of their shows!
thank you for your comment. I think this group is currently at the top level in the world. Japanese rock has a unique feature that is different from normal rock'n'roll in the codes it uses. All members of this group have world-class playing ability. Over 130 songs are my own compositions, and there are no bad ones. Please enjoy.
Sugoi! Imho, they're the best rock band on the planet, regardless of gender. I say this with having attended rock concerts for 55 years. I've seen them twice live, and they are not to be missed! Arigatou! 🤘🤘 #SurrenderLove #ShareHappyLetsDance
Yes all their live show are all like this! Great try “From Now On” for official MV or “Hate!” Live from Yokohama. Please review more the Party has been going on for 10 yrs. They toured the Midwest in 2023 and will again! 🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
@@Plexatri. Yes...pick any song, if possible, live. I know a guy who went to seven shows of BAND MAID in US and Europe and he is a musician and rodie from...UK. He cannot talk about them without getting deeple emotional. Very crazy. He told me that he was not the only one doing this during the tour like 'pilgrims of rock' ending every concert in 'trance'
They've just past the 200million view this month. FYI their last song of the show is Endles Story, you can check the least live version released few weeks ago. Check any other song and you'll be hooked.
My reaction too when I first heard them. My first two songs were Play and Choose Me, both live. Recommend them, and Wonderland live for the vocalist, Freedom live for the drums. All of these are from several years ago. They have continued to just get better. Try Hate? live or Endless Story live for more recent concert performances.
Plenty more where that came from! Hate? (Official live), Puzzle (official live), Warning (OMV), From Now On (OMV), Onset (official live)…..then every other thing they have recorded…

I thought Rock and metal had died. I didn't know that it had gotten a Visa and moved to Japan. There are so many all female bands, rock, hard rock and metal in Japan right now that will melt your face and you will never recover. Try Lovebites. The song : Holy War These ladies are as metal as can be.
I'm also in the Midwest, I've driven to Chicago and Minneapolis to see them multiple times. Also flew to Seattle, Dallas, and Charlotte to see them. Absolutely worth it every time! Here's hoping they come back to the US next year!
Check out their more recent "Hate?" ("Official Live Video" on their channel). They toured the US in 2023. I don't they'll be back this year. Maybe next year.
I am glad I saw them live in Sacramento in August 2023. Best concert I have ever been to in my 58 years on this planet. I was also fortunate to see Baby Metal in October 2023 in Los Angeles. Would I see Baby Metal again ? Probably. Would I see Band Maid again ? Hell Yes. If I can afford it, and can get available tickets (after Roger Chance sells them to the world), I will go to every one of their concerts on the West Coast. Their concert performances (known as servings) change every show by varying the setlist, and the Maids are much more fun, and outgoing than Baby Metal.
Damn bro, welcome to Japanese female bands! What's your flavor, rock, Band Maid, Speed Queens, Lovebites, Growl metal, Nemophila, and many more I'm not mentioning.
Just wanted to note that the "40 million views" that was mentioned is for views of reaction videos only. The band's channel itself just recently celebrated 200 million views. Not that views mean quality, but in this case they do. Looking at your channel you seem like a metal fan. While Band-Maid don't really go metal (especially not modern metal) they do go a lot harder and heavier than this, especially in recent years. It's cool that you seemed to enjoy the catchiness because I know that puts off a lot of fans of harder/heavier music; they often say it's too poppy. By the way, this isn't in my top 70 Band-Maid songs, no exaggeration. So in my opinion you have a lot to look forward to. Oh, one last thing. Don't feel that you need to have subtitles on. In recent years Band-Maid's music has become a lot more intricate, which makes it difficult to take in everything even if you're not trying to read at the same time. Translation between Japanese and English is one of the most difficult in the world which can make many translations feel awkward. This is especially true in songs, and in Band-Maid songs in particular because their lyricist (the rhythm guitarist/secondary vocalist) writes lyrics that are metaphorical and full of esoteric subjects. For example one of their songs is named after a Turkish bomb guidance kit; other songs reference ancient Russian customs and early 20th centry Japanese children's literature. Trying to take in everything in a song like "Giovanni" and figuring out the lyrics at the same time is nearly impossible.
“That was sick. Damn! What the fuck?” A typical first time reaction! And it’s so much fun to watch as it happens. Welcome to the wonderful world of BAND-MAID! You have just experienced “The Gap.” Miku’s idea to dress the band like angelic maids but then play like demons possessed. What you see ain’t what you get! Next songs to listen / react to: Hate? (Live) Manners (MV) (very bluesy for B-M) from now on (MV) (a blistering instrumental!) Shambles (MV) Secret Maiko Lips (MV) (an April fools present to their fans released on April 1st. A 😂“Maiko” is a young geisha in training.)
Yep, they are the REAL DEAL ... That's only a tiny little portion of the Band-Maid experience. Somehow organically, these girls came together because of an 800-years-old Pigeon's (Po!) dream of mixing Maid Cafe culture with hard rock & metal! To be fair, you try saying 'No' to an 800-years-old pigeon!! (True Story ... yes, really.) The most consistently great output of any band EVER ... and they absolutely love their fans (or 'Masters & Princesses' as they call us fans ... or 'Maidiacs' as we call ourselves!) I know, I probably sound like a 13 year old fangirl ... but I'm 67 and grew up listening to the greats of Rock & Metal ... These girls are something VERY special.
Check out their music video for Shambles. Yeah, you've only scratched the surface of their 125+ tracks. Saw them in ATL last year. It was totally worth flying the family from Orlando to see them.
Thanks for reacting to the greatest hard rock band in the world. They're extremely talented and just amazing people. They are unbelievable live, I've been privileged to see them live twice and am waiting impatiently for them to return to the States. Roger strikes again!
You struck gold finding Maid Rock!! I was pleased you praised singer Saiki first...she's my favourite female rock voice since Pat Benetar (and more better songs too 😁). Hope you journey on and enjoy the sheer variety they offer...maximum effort into creating and playing evety song 👍👌💪🤘🤘🤘
Welcome to Band-Maid! They are the real deal! And if you keep reacting to them we will be here watching it with you! You can never go wrong with a live video, like Freedom, for example. But some amazing studio MV are Dice, Shambles, and if you want to see how technical they are, From Now On! Enjoy the pigeon hole!😊
Well.. this was a surprise. Thank you everyone for being here and being so nice! I'm gonna try to respond to every comment but it's hard to keep up lol. It's refreshing to see such a cool fan base in the metal scene.
UPDATE
I might have to throw in the towel for replying to every comment 🙁
But I have been reading every single one and am blown away by the "Masters and Princesses" support. You guys are a very dedicated and fan base and it's real cool to see.
Welcome to the fandom. And although the energy of that could’ve been the finale, it was just a setup for the song “Play,” which might be a fun follow up for you. And yes. They play just like this, every song, every show, every single time
@@MusicMike747 (Psst.... bro.... "Play" was the song before "Domination".......)
No sweat, Plexatri! We’re pretty good at entertaining ourselves (if you haven’t noticed.)
Just chip in whenever you can!
With any other band, saying that every song they have is fun to listen to would be a ridiculous claim. It's unbelievable. But absolutely true.
That is crazy to me and am now looking forward to diving into their library!
Best rock band on the planet. You've barely touched the surface. Watch REAL EXISTENCE live and get your socks blown off.
This is exciting, I love discovering a new band with a respectable library of songs!
That library contains 130+ songs, l😂
Here's some opinions and facts:
•Bass solos are more likely to happen than not
•Guitar solos are shorter, far shorter, than you would like them to be
•Unless you are superhuman you will not/cannot be able to pick up everything they're doing to make that song great on the first listen.
•Genre? Genres?? We don' need no stinkin" genre!
•Youlike this rocker crazy fast tune? Well how about it done as a slower acoustic version?
•April Fools Day 2019
As a joke they record a redo of Secret my Lips with traditional instruments andcwith lyrics in a Kyoto dialect.
Definitely hit a few different waves of emotion while listening to this song 😅
You are so fucked. You are forgiven for mentioning babymetal but in revenge you are hooked on the maids for life unless you leave the Internet and never see another track from them. Particularly avoid "Hate?" that is seriously bad voodoo. 😂 @@Plexatri.
You forgot the "I wasn't expecting that"

Oh it's definitely on the list, you guys are crazy lolol. Thanks for being here!
First people landing on Mars will find that Roger has already been there, recommending the Maids.
Their shows are indeed all “like this”. It’s a fscking blast live. Seen them twice (here in the US)
Thanks for watching, check out a more recent performance of “Hate?” Live.
Been getting that request a lot it seems. Adding it to the list!
Hate? was part of the Maids 10th anniversary concert that will knock your socks off.
That's what I keep hearing lol, definitely gonna check it out
@@Plexatri.
Even though the video quality is a bit disappointing, I really
Loved the Live Lollapalooza Dice/Hate? Video a lot.
Thank you for giving me more insight to the band. I love that they branch out and experiment with different genres
Rock and Roll never died. It's just played by little Japanese girls now.
😏♥️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘
Will have to do my best to check out one of their shows then!
I followed them from San Francisco down to LA and San Diego, And I've been kicking myself ever since for not starting in Portland.
That was one of the first things I noticed was how into it the crowd was, looked like so much fun!
Best current rock band on the planet !!!!!!!!!!
Now go to one of their latest songs. 'Hate?' live at Yokohama. One of the best bands around.
Will do! Thanks!
Roger did me a solid for introducing me to their music!

Hey Plexatri, you may be way late to the party like I was but catching up is soooo much fun. Check out FROM NOW ON and all will be right with the world. With a catalog of over 120 songs in their 10+ years together there will be no shortage of Awesome music to enjoy. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Peace. 100
That is a lot of songs, oh boy this is gonna be a journey
(from their own Anime MV (series?)): th-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/w-d-xo.html)
And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYUJI concerts:

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.
Hey Tom, I hear your latest version of this will be coming out on Amazon as a 300 page novel. 😂
Band Maid is legit one of the best rock bands on the planet. I’ve seen them in four cities in the US and can’t wait until they come back.
That's awesome! I hope they come to the Midwest soon
They are SO GOOD live. You wouldn't believe it. Best on the planet!! World Domination!!
Welcome to Band-Maid, your new favorite band of all time! Watching and listening to Band-Maid will shock your sense of sight & sound.

Band Maid! 🔥 🤘🏽 Resurrection of rock by five little Japanese women
It was 22nd song out of 23 song set list.
Their shows are a blast--absolutely levitating. I saw them in DC nearby and travelled to see them in Minneapolis, Chicago, and Charlotte. Worth every second. Worth every cent. Cheers!
They are rock and roll guardian angels and the best hard rock band on this planet🤘Keep an eye on them!!
Roger is ubiquitous...he's EVERYWHERE!
By my math there are a minimum of SIX Roger Chances out there. I assume there is one original and five (or more) clones.
There is no way only one man is responsible for all this BAND-MAID promotion alone!
He's like God he may even be God.
This was the same video that made me a huge BAND-MAID fan, back in April 2020. Just blown away by the musicianship, and they are even better now.....
And finally a very special live performance is Manners/Blackhole (Official Online Live)🍌 And there is more: For example the songs with Miku in lead, their christmas acoustic concert and the 'cover band' Band-Maiko ;-)
But if you want to start at the beginning of their career (2013-2017) then go with Thrill (MV, their first video), Real Existence (second video), Alone (MV, first own composition), Freedom(best LIVE performance), Choose Me, Play (LIVE!), ...
Some other band recommendations? Then try "The Sixsters" from Ukraine (Pick any song) and "Gacharic Spin" from Japan (song: "Mindset").
Have fun... Po
"HATE?" next please. A lead/bass breakdown conversation so good your face will slowly melt on screen....probably.😏
DEFINITELY! Gary's word on it.

Great reaction. Thanks for supporting the Maids.
Seen them 11 times since 2017. Been a metal head since 83 and no one touches them live. You feel part of the show and the fans are the best.
Roger Appleseed strikes again :)
I am in mid-Missouri and flew to Chicago to see the last gig on their 2022 tour. 100% worth the effort, they crush live. Also big fan of the female metal bands from Japan, especially Nemophila, Hanabie and Lovebites.
I drove to that same Chicago show from Detroit :) . You would not believe all the BAND MAID shirts I saw at the Hanabie show in Fort Wayne ;) .
Band Maid is an amazingly talented hard rock band. I urge you to watch one of their instrumental songs like " Onset" live.
They don’t travel with a full concert production yet but, damn it, they’re the best shows I’ve seen ever! Same feeling when I discovered them; different song though.
What song did you hear first?
@@Plexatri. It was Band-Maid's about Us. It was my sort of music prior to Band-Maid. You'll see once you listen to it. It's definitely different from Domination and their other Hard Rocking, Progressive sound. :)
HANABIE., on the other hand, is Metal!
"From Now On" instrumental by Band Maid. Plexatri, im 60 years old and these ladies are far and away my favorite band. if my internet connection failed i would probably drive six hours just to watch From Now On on a 12 inch black and white tv. yeah i know,, i got it bad.
peace to you
Hell yea, that's what i like to hear!
Well done, Glenn! Excellent summary!
Roger has introduced you to the #1 band in the world today! Enjoy the ride!! 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂🕊
❤better late then never. They have 120 songs.
Wait till he watches the live of
- Onset
- Hate
- Puzzle
- Real Existence.
That face will melt online
Oh man I can't wait
As soon as you said new band suggested from the comments, I knew it was Roger Chance! It's always Roger Chance!
I suggest Band Maid all the time! But do they listen to me? No! (Ok, sometimes)
New strategy: Instead of getting reactors into my
favorite bands, I should get Riger Chance into my favorite bands!😂
Roger Chance is a real one for suggesting them to me!
i remember my first time lol you heard Hanabie - we love sweets? Another female metal band. Amazing music coming out of japan. Thee best honestly.
It’s amazing how the universe sends the right band at the right time ; Band Maid like Guns and Roses in late eighties came at the right time when a lot of metal / hard rock was getting stale , over produced and lyrically vacuous
Another great band from Japan is Lovebites
Check out live Hammer Of Wrath it’s fucking killer
Lovebites are fucking nuts. I'll have to check out Hammer of Wrath
Dude, you just discovered one of the very best rock bands out there !!!
Band-Maid is awesome!! Please check out more, thanks for the reaction.
THE best Hard Rock band on the planet. Best played MUCH louder!
Sugoi! Imho, they're the best rock band on the planet, regardless of gender. I say this with having attended rock concerts for 55 years. I've seen them twice live, and they are not to be missed!
Arigatou! 🤘🤘 #SurrenderLove #ShareHappyLetsDance
Their shows are awesome.I was at a small venue in the third row. One great song after another thru their concert.😊
Yes all their live show are all like this! Great try “From Now On” for official MV or “Hate!” Live from Yokohama.
Please review more the Party has been going on for 10 yrs.
They toured the Midwest in 2023 and will again!
🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
Hate is definitely in the pipeline. Glad to be part of the party!
Pick any song from the BAND-MAID playlist and you’ll never be disappointed…. Ever!
That is very rare nowadays. That's awesome to hear!
They put on an AMAZING live show! I've seen them twice, drove 16 hours to see them that second time 😂
Hey Plexatri,
welcome to the world of Band-Maid !
Glad to have you on this journey.
Hate seems to be pretty popular with you guys, excited to listen to more of these guys!
That was the 23rd song of their 25 song set that day!!
More Band Maid Always!!
Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
Welcome home.
Lol, you have just witnessed perfection. You might as well become a Madiac.
Plenty more where that came from! Hate? (Official live), Puzzle (official live), Warning (OMV), From Now On (OMV), Onset (official live)…..then every other thing they have recorded…
How about Don't You Tell Me? Its from their recent YOKOHAMA ARENA SHOW. New outfits bigger stage... great reaction🤘 #roger_the_great

I thought Rock and metal had died. I didn't know that it had gotten a Visa and moved to Japan. There are so many all female bands, rock, hard rock and metal in Japan right now that will melt your face and you will never recover.
Try Lovebites. The song : Holy War
These ladies are as metal as can be.
Enjoy.
Thank you, will add it to the list
I'm also in the Midwest, I've driven to Chicago and Minneapolis to see them multiple times. Also flew to Seattle, Dallas, and Charlotte to see them. Absolutely worth it every time!
Here's hoping they come back to the US next year!
They have so many to choose from... Thier latest show in Live in Yokohama Arena, checkout the song "Hate"
I got to the party 6 years ago and still feel I arrived late.
Love watching people lose their BAND-MAID cherry !
Welcome to the world of BAND-MAID.
Thank you, happy to be here!
You've landed in a good spot.
Next songs to listen / react to:
Hate? (Live)
Manners (MV) (very bluesy for B-M)
from now on (MV) (a blistering instrumental!)
Shambles (MV)
Secret Maiko Lips (MV) (an April fools present to their fans released on April 1st.
(True Story ... yes, really.)
The most consistently great output of any band EVER ... and they absolutely love their fans (or 'Masters & Princesses' as they call us fans ... or 'Maidiacs' as we call ourselves!)
I know, I probably sound like a 13 year old fangirl ... but I'm 67 and grew up listening to the greats of Rock & Metal ... These girls are something VERY special.
The lore of Band-Maid seems very interesting for sure
You are being polite, our dear Pigeon is 810!
Roger! What a surprise! LOL 🤟
Check out their music video for Shambles. Yeah, you've only scratched the surface of their 125+ tracks. Saw them in ATL last year. It was totally worth flying the family from Orlando to see them.
That is a daunting amount of songs, I love it lol
MISA MISA MISA!!!!! Roger strikes again EXCELLENT
Thanks for reacting to the greatest hard rock band in the world. They're extremely talented and just amazing people. They are unbelievable live, I've been privileged to see them live twice and am waiting impatiently for them to return to the States. Roger strikes again!
Thank you for being here, you guys are awesome
You struck gold finding Maid Rock!! I was pleased you praised singer Saiki first...she's my favourite female rock voice since Pat Benetar (and more better songs too 😁). Hope you journey on and enjoy the sheer variety they offer...maximum effort into creating and playing evety song 👍👌💪🤘🤘🤘
6 hour drive to see them - that’s nothing.
I flew from Melbourne Australia to Tokyo to see Band-Maid on 10th May this year. That’s a 10 hour flight!
