A lot of mods still work, actually. I only had to download updates for a couple of mine (fortunately the creators put those updates out almost immediately).
They could do it a bit like sims 2 freetime expansion pack - the ceramic and other artistic activities, the painting desk, and add some sort of more empty easels for clutter.
I saw a review of the other kit, and I'm kind of annoyed. Storybook Nursery at least comes with a changing station and a playmat (exclusive to Growing Together) and a rocking chair (exclusive to Nifty Knitting). It's recycled content, but at least it's new gameplay for people who don't own these already (and a kit is cheaper than expansion pack + stuff puck). What we get with this one? Nothing. I would love a drawing table or table easel, so sims could paint while sitting down (and not with a tablet), but that would require new animation. I think we should actually get an Architect Table with the Dream Home Decorator, then It could reuse that. Well... at least we could get an alternative to Street Gallery from City Living, to display and sell art. That would make sense and it would add some gameplay. Instead, I could recommend CC Pack, Art Studio My Rustic Lodge. It's quite similar.
None of the kits sans Bust the Dust adds new gameplay, though. If new gameplay was added, it would be a stuff pack. As for the nursery kit, it's not recycled stuff. Yeah, we had a rocking chair and a playmat, but just one of each and they don't look remotely like the ones in the Storybook Nursery Kit. Personally, I'm glad we got more options.

I also like the table that you can't place things on because it makes it really easy to raise up various objects to make your own clutter scene. I Like to woodworking table and everything would have been so perfect if it was a sculpture table. I believe there are new paintings as I didn't regonise the ones my sim made. Thumbs up.
Ooo I’d love an Art expansion pack! The world could be in Paris filled with theatre, ballet, drawing, painting, floral art and musicians of all kinds. That’s an idea for the “ adventure “ pack for sims4. I know it won’t happen but this kit makes me want a European themed pack 😊
I love this! I always do artsy sims and I love the paint swatches on the existing easels as well. I will like these items, but I still think it's over priced... That being said, I already own everything apart orm like 5 kits..
I never get excited for kits, but I bought this one as soon as it showed up in the EA app 😅 I mainly build and I only owned 5 kits that I felt offer an aesthetic or function not present in the main game or packs. But I also have an artist in every household I make, so this one is a necessity for that realistic workroom vibe.
Thank you for yet another very honest and blunt review! ❤ I don't care how bad the kids get because Im a modder and I do need to download the kit so I'll haveeshes so that I can mod
I wasn't that interested in this kit ... but now after seeing your review I do like it. It would be good to build attics, basements, storage sheds, garages, offices, classrooms, etc.
Unless there is a good CC version I might be getting this set! I’ve never bought a kit, but this is actually really nice and pretty much every household I have has one painter! I love playing with painting!
maybe the new pack will have zombies, I mean, it's called live and death, and the drawings that may hint something about the new pack have a set of hands that kinda look like the ones we see in movies when the zombie first wakes up from the grave. I don't know, maybe I'm just travelling
Woodworking means building your own Cabinet styles, stairways, decks, picture frames, shelving…….. and much more. …….. Jeepers. Not many do their own woodworking any more…. Sigh
i guess you can use that desk sizing down a kitchen counter. Really nice kit, when i first started sims4 the way to earn some money was painting, I still do sometimes.
I would LOVE more woodworking objects, and painting them too! I play Amish/rural life, and my Sims have to make their own furniture. The lack of objects you can create is really limiting/annoying.
I really like both of them but I really like the nursery Kit. better. First my saw that seeing that look a stroller. I thought of the stroller, but turns out it's another fascinate for a baby. I wish they would put some strollers in a game too. That would be awesome. And and baby swings.
You need to go back to the sinister posters on that wall art Satch. I haven't seen any teasers for the Life & Death expansion yet, but from the looks of 2 of those posters, we might be getting Zombies back.
if i remember right this was made by sixamcc who really does make some brilliant stuff! if you play on a client that allows for cc they actually have a cc pack (i believe it's called the rustic lodge art studio or something of the sort) which has similar items! just a little less sims 4 base game-y (by which i mean they're more stylised, they don't quite fit in with the base game as nicely as the kit). edit: my mistake, sixamcc didn't work on the artist studio kit, they worked on the storybook nursery kit, which is the other new kit. still, they have a lot of nursery/kids room cc packs! so if those interest you and you're able to download mods you can pretty much skip out on these packs entirely

I'm so excite that you are playing it.
I never get excited for kits, but I bought this one as soon as it showed up in the EA app 😅
I mainly build and I only owned 5 kits that I felt offer an aesthetic or function not present in the main game or packs.
Sigh
This ALMOST makes me want to return to Sims 4, I must say I am very impressed
Cute items ngl. Can’t wait for someone to make this into a cc pack
The muscles are wrong on the statue 💀
I’ve always said “vangoff” partly because of the doctor who episode I watched on Vangough. 😂
I often do wood working... To build the handiness of my Sims. That's about it.
I always play an artist, being an artist myself. I really wish they would add sewing or ceramics, i think it would be so fun
This kit can be used for a room under construction, too!
i guess you can use that desk sizing down a kitchen counter. Really nice kit, when i first started sims4 the way to earn some money was painting, I still do sometimes.
I have a boby trolley for my art supplies. I love that thing
You should use a smaller clutter piece to look for slots- the water bottle from the everyday clutter kit is perfect for that ^-^
I would LOVE more woodworking objects, and painting them too!
And and baby swings.
i LOVE it! just built an art studio & coffee shop tho 😅
I definitely wish there were more gameplay objects. They could have finally done something with that lump of clay in base game.
it's honestly pretty cute
One art pack portrait art really reminds me of the joker, robin, posion ivy, etc. I wonder if they are doing a collab in the future that is in the works.
That fruit plate is chef’s kiss for historic gameplay
