In today's episode I am gonna make a tour of my house which I recently rented on Koh Samui, will tell you my tips on how to find such places, and of course we'll take a ride around my neighborhood and visit the Fisherman's village!

Mickey, I've watched your videos for years not knowing if I'd ever make it to Thailand. Now that I'm here (currently in Samui too!) it feels so surreal seeing these videos. I stayed in Fisherman's Village for a couple weeks, stayed a week on Crystal Bay and now currently in Bangrak heading to Chaweng tomorrow. I was only going to be visiting Koh Samui for a week but I've fallen in love with this island! Thank you so very much for your videos, your perspective and providing me the motivation to finally come here to Thailand! I can't wait to see more of the Thailand I only knew through your channel!

Wrong time to be in Thailand tbh.. wrong season, and the place is currently not the place I know and love.. it’s dead
@@Rightbyme I liked that about it. It was actually nice to be one of the few at the beach. Not much crowd out on the road. I had a great time with my bike, not a single "maniac" on the road. I did find the food options limited but nothing to complain about. After India, Samui felt like a paradise. Everybody nice, no honking or noise pollution, not overcrowded. Etc etc.
Yes if youte into socializing alot and parties, etc. Not the place.
@@Rightbyme You must enjoy the Chinese tourist crowds from years past. It's absolutely beautiful here in Koh Samui now. I've heard so much trash about the rainy season but I'm finding it to be amazing. Less crowds/tourists, better accommodations at a lower cost and the stunning greenery everywhere. With it being post pandemic, it's still very quite here which I enjoy. I'm sorry you lost your love for it but if you're not here now I'd tell you and anyone else they're missing out on a once in a life time opportunity to see Thailand in a different way.
@@WushuTaz you need people to make any place have a vibe.. the motorcycle noise, 100s on the beach, everything open, meet people from all over the world etc etc.. I’d be depressed being in Samui like it is right now.. there’s only so much time you can spend alone 🤷🏻♂️

Your new place looks great. Usually go to Samui for at least two weeks each year. I normally go to Star Gym - which doesn't have any air conditioning. Petrol in Australia at the moment is AU $2.22 per litre. I have never been to Fishermans village there are so many other great places to go to. Glad you're taking a break and revitalising. Looking forward to seeing you get your PADI in Koh Tao. I did that a number of years ago.

Very informative! There really is no need to buy a condo in Thailand while renting is so much more interesting and affordable.
Every coin has both sides, but I agree with you, renting a condo/house is more interesting as it gives a chance to see different parts of the country/areas and to know how does it feel to live here or there

750 pounds is around 32.000 Baht;
I can easily live a month on such budget and feel very very comfortably, but everything depends on your lifestyle and personal requirements

Can live well with this money even in Bangkok, but yeah for someone it might be not enough even for a week 😅
Excellent video. Another brand which I use myself is Bushman. It has two levels of deet and does not smell or is sticky. Easy to get in Australia so not sure about Thailand.

I’d recommend get a topper to put on ur mattress. U can find really comfy one for under 2,000 baht and its a really good investment for a comfy night sleep.

They was fisherman village before 20years a go very beautiful I was visiting here but now they are changing everything now tourist market
Obviously, I had some precious time to waste so I watched your video. I was soon devastated to learn not only did you not select the location I recommended three videos ago, you didn’t select any you had us vote on. I had an emergency visit with my therapist and he was able to help me recover and forgive. Ha! Haha! Great video Mickey…great house location. I have decided to visit Koh Samui in November because of your videos.

Many years ago, on bophut beach there are many fishermens on the sea and on the beach. You can see theme they fix the fishing nets and I was laying in a hangmag behind. It was awsome. A simple bungalow cost 100 bath! p.night. But you never find a good espresso or a europ. restroom! Only a hole....Less or no infrastruktur, not many shops and you have to go to chaweng to change money. You can see the old pier on fishermens - it was very dangerous. Never been there since 2014 - thanks for sharing your vid and infos. Take care and enjou Samui!
yeah, remember the place. sitting on beach wish some fisherman, eating row shrimps with chili paste and having after each bite a shot lao khao. i miss the 80's & the fisherman too

stayed in East beach beach huts, Chaweng, for 50 baht a night 12 years ago !! $330 pm seems pretty pricy to me! I now live in Isan in own house for $500 max per month - For everything, bills, food & drink, car payment petrol, !!!!
