We have it coming next week, the video is with our editor now. In the meantime you can check out our text based review of it on our blog at go.droix.co.uk/8o6dtn It covers everything in the video with benchmarks etc. Hope that helps.
I got the 7640u model an its crazy that i haven't used it due to black screen issue i know its probably soft bricked how is gpd customer service if i wanted to bring my model in to be fixed?
I wish they would've went with a oled at 90hz refresh rate like the steam deck oled i always been a fan of the psp/ps vita build I'm glad ayn had inspiration by making the odin 2 mini look like a modern ps vita i have the steam deck oled if valve releases a steam deck mini that would definitely sell
please post temperatures at the same benchmarks of different GPD WIN 4 models. Like stress the CPU of each device by the same benchmark and show temps at 28W TDP.
If I remember right we did do a quick check of the temperatures for the Win 4, but the video looked a bit confusing due to how the thermal camera has a kind of overlay of the thermal colours, when there was four devices in shot it looked really confusing. I will check the temperature's from the footage when back in the office on Monday and reply back here.
@@DroiX_Store Thermal camera can only show casing temperatures... What I'm essentially asking for is to show CPU temperatures at the same stress test of a different models of the same device. GPD WIN 4 of: 6400U, 7840U, 8840U, HX370
OK, I got what you mean. I will keep this in mind for future reviews if we can include it. Sometimes software has not caught up with processors and does not have support for the temperature sensors, fan speeds etc.
@@DroiX_Store that's fair point. It is of my interest to have those results though: since cooling system in every model wasn't modified much, it is fair to be interested in how same cooling system would meet new CPU. TDP is not the only thing that can indicate if cooling is capable enough for the device.
I was hoping to see more 10 watt tdp performance metrics, with this battery size the 10 watt tdp is really the sweet spot on the go and other devices with this igpu do very well at lower tdp u should put more of a focus on that and less of a focus on full blast 28 watts which is less relevant on an on the go device like this
@@Inevitable_Truth1 aah cool i understand. the gpd win would be perfect for me. if it had the joystick and dpad switched up for retro gaming. the cheapest one available is the anbernic win 600! but it is kinda slow
@@davidnonya7359 You like the layout of the sticks being on the same sides as each other? That's more of the RP5 layout I heard its not has comfortable
I have the 8840u model. What stops me from using it is the 60 hz non refresh rate display. It needs to be at least 120 hz and similar to ROG screens for me to buy another one
@ I have it ordered the 2025 model. I have the 2024 model and it is great. Just wished I had the win 4 form factor with the same display as the win mini. Then it would be hard to beat in this space. Same request for the win max 2 display.
why need a gpd win 5! this is the perfect form factor. only improvement needed is a retro version with the joysticks at the bottom. or do the aya neo thing where the buttons and joysticks are interchangeable
Yeah the AYANEO 3's modular controls are interesting. It will depend how much these modules cost whether or not it will be popular. We hope to get our hands on one after the Chinese New Year to review.
It’s certainly not. If you have any device with a 7,000 or 8,000 series chip & if you have 32 gigs of RAM everything is already going to run well even without fluid Motion frames 2.0 or Lossless scaling, which can boost performance even more, especially lossless, which performs crazy feats of performance with 32 gigs of RAM. The average price is $1,300 for any device featuring this excessive overpriced chip. Forget about it. frame gen tech is the future of pc gaming. Native performance doesn’t even matter as much as it did before anyway.
Not sure what you mean? You mean the display should support higher refresh rates? If so you may be interested in the GPD WIN Mini 2025 with 120Hz refresh rate, we will have a review for it soon.
Disappointing to not see any Lunar Lake options from GPD. I know Intel has sucked for a while at this low power level but they have definitively beaten AMD this time
Thank you for the in-depth review and comparison.
Mine is on the way! I'm so excited!
We hope you enjoy it!
Please do a GPD WIN Max 2 2025 - thank you

@@DroiX_Store Thank you so much!
Hear hear well said!
I can't wait!
Did I miss any info about fan noise?
You did, at 3:07 :)
@ thanks
Can it run crysis
Maybe, get 50 likes on this and we will test it on a video :)

When will you do the GPD WIN MINI 2025 with HX 370? I hope you also do benchmarks for 10, 15, 17, and 28w
WIP on Win Mini 2025 as well, we will release it next week.

7840u=8840u :)
Yeah for games that are GPU demanding you won't see much difference as its the same GPU.
8840u is much better when below 15w. For example 7840u lose to steam deck at low wattage, however 8840u can win.

Is there any games you would like to see in particular running at 10W. Will see what we can do for a short video or update on the review on our blog
64db in cinebench?! wtf
It is the peak fan noise, you wont have this all the time. And it is comparable with other handhelds to be fair.
Is there something similar to the PS Vita Style but without the keyboard and maybe not necessarily for 1000€?
Odin2 Mini but it has android
@davidnonya7359 thanks I forgot to say that I mean PC gaming handheld only and not android handhelds

The only thing i can say about the gpd win 4 is the bezel is to thick we can at least get 7 inch screen if they remove the bezel!
I think we will see a new GPD handheld before seeing a screen change on the Win 4. They have been using the same for 4 generations now.

Better that onexfly f1 pro 😳. 3700 time spy graphics but lower Cpu????
Swings and roundabouts with these handhelds. With some power tweaking you can get roughly the same performance at the same TDPs as each other.

yeah im shocked too didnt think intel had it in them but I guess u never know!
No OLED...no buy
WHATS WITH THE GARBAGE ASS XBOX LEFT JOYSTICK
Have you seen the AYANEO 3 with modular controls? That may be what you are looking for.
go for the zotact zone 2 handheld its the best!
