Southport looks like a fun spot! Love the swan boats. That is a cute little amusement park and is a good size. I agree, the donut guy should be the mascot lol! That spinny ride that sways back and forth would need to be a hard pass for me LOL! Terrifying hahaha! Yellow submarine, so fun! Lots of stuff. Looks like a fun arcade! Nice live music. Marine Lake is great, love the variety of entertainment there and a great spot by the pier. We wouldn't agree on best resort though - Southport is great for a day but we found it lacks a bit in the evening outside main summer season. Was good to see some more of Pleasureland - Free entry is great, and entrance from seafront side is a good move too and that you could stroll round take some pics and have a beer perfect, really surprised the hungry hoss/horse has closed always seemed busy. Beautiful gardens and water features a great video to watch

Do the parks/villages next all within Southport. Botanic Gardens, Heketh Park, Victoria Park with the famous walk called Rotten Row, overflowing with flowers. The Southport Flower Show held here in August, The Fireworks Championship, Airshow, there is much to see make sure you look for it and visit! @@RipRideVlogIt

I’ve never been but it looks like a great place to visit, much more going on than I expected. Shame the vintage machines were closed but the 2p slots looked like a lot of fun. The smallest pub was awesome but the prices at the Oust House were amazing, like stepping back in time. Many thanks for sharing.

Most definitely not the seafront area, it is known Kings Gardens, that does infact run parellel with the seafront! These gardens have been renovated due to help from lottery funding-just behind you is the brilliant childrens play area, miniature golf. plus the model village. Cafeteria next to mini golf which in the height of Summer has entertainment on. The smallest pub is a good walk down if you have children in tow so the street opposite the merry go round would be wiser choice for an alcoholic drink! Where you got the icecreams I am guessing? By the way it is called Oast house (rhymes with Ghost)! Southport is built as though it is on a tier system, the seafront behind the gardens, the promenade, then the still wonderful Lord Street, then the pedestrianised shopping area, all interconnected by many small roads. Do check out Lord Street, 5mins from where you were! There are also many places within 5miles of where you were which I have listed on other sites, however if you want to booze and ride stick with where you were!!

NB The pier is closed off for a good while as it is being surveyed for necessary repairs (despite being passed approx 8 years ago for repairs that were carried out at that time)!? Also on the Marine lake within the gardens when all is up and running there is a mad speed boat that operates so if you wanna be James Bond for a few minutes book a ticket on that too! Bear with Southport they are making many - and have made - changes over the last few years! Enjoy your visits and go to Ainsdale to view your sunset, three miles along the coast run and beach much more pleasant!
Yes that was the impression we got to be fair that it's a work in progress but still we love it, easily accessible from Manchester and much preferred it to Blackpool! Ainsdale is one we'd never heard of, have to check it out. Thanks for watching!
Ainsdale is the best beach near Southport, just couple miles away, travel another couple for a huge nature reserve with pinewoods, red squirrels, refreshment area etc, walk through woods to a stunning beach where you can overlook the River Mersey/Liverpool/Wales! You understand these are places to go on good weather days - they have no fairgrounds, lol! Bad weather? Southport has ten pin bowling, cinema, undercover shopping areas etc etc. @@RipRideVlogIt
Did you another 'info type' comment and lost it - so suffice to say if you walk along the road to the right of the pier nice views plus there is a miniature railway, just past the entrance to that is a 7 screen cinema, ten pin bowling, places to eat, directly across from there (walk under the pier) there is a shopping area, to the back of Dunelm there is a great walk literally next to the lake!

Love Southport, an upmarket Blackpool without the pot 😂. I always remember the sea being about 5 miles out and aging cricket on the beach 😅
