And if you don't pick a direction, you jump backwards. Really the only useful application for a non-upgraded dodge. To make some distance to enemies charging into you.
all of these are tutorialized within the first 30 minutes of the game, if you missed any of those you should propably learn to read, also friendly fire is not a thing (maybe on supernova?)
One thing about time dilation: Don't use it with a sniper rifle. With the basic pistol or an assault rifle you can blind and/or cripple a bunch of enemies in one go, with the sniper the most I have gotten is two shots before the bar runs out. I tend to start combat from afar with the sniper and when enemies start returning fire or running towards me I switch to assault rifle and blind the ones that are shooting and cripple the ones that are running.
you can use the dodge even without having points, the 20 points unlock the forward doge only, but the backward and side are allways unlock, that's why you see the lil'thingi on the UI :)
Heres one for people wanting to do all companion quests: If you see someone climb an invisible ladder on the ship while talking to a crew member then reload a save otherwise the game will mark that companion as dead even though theyre alive and will auto fail any future quests you get from that companion.
Can’t wait to see your opinions on the outer worlds being in the same universe as fallout, seems to be quite a lot supporting it from both outer worlds and even in NV. Super interesting
funny to see that on the screen you use to show the benefit of reputation, the intimidate check is indeed lower at 100% but the Persuade check is higher.
Ok so one thing many people don't know about supernova is that even though your companions can die permanently, there is a skill in the third tier of perks that resurrects down companions by using the medicinal enhaler. AND IT WORKS IN SUPERNOVA, WHICH IS FECKIN TIGHT, BOYO

So a couple more things about Outer Worlds in case you want to do a followup video 1> When you see electricity traps spanning an area, usually causing you to leap over or duck under to circumnavigate, look around. There is usually piping or wiring connected to these things, and they lead to these spinning, barely noticeable things on the ceilings and walls. Destroy those and you destroy the traps. 2> On Halcyon, you will see these plants that look like Tentacles. Those MAY be the horrific imaginings of some concept artist, but those plants actually exist here on Earth. The Clathrus Archeri, also known as the Octopus Stinkhorn or Devil's Fingers... and their mature plants smell like rotting flesh. --> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clathrus_archeri
Ok, first video back here, after a long time away, and the first tip in this first video is *super useful*. Resub. Nice to be back man. Cheers. Off to play some Outer Worlds, looking forward to seeing what you're up to these days 😁
I kept my companions on aggressive since really theres no point in actively commanding them to attack when they have to fight anyway. My strategy was to have all my companions with specialized grenade launchers to stand at a far away safe location so that I could distract enemies behind cover and be able to shoot them without being withing their field of view. This made it so enemies focused attacks on me while companions shot them from the side. On the of chance a straggler heads for my companions I could ttd shoot them as they would move into my field of view past cover. This also helps with melee attackers that may try to get behind me but will get shot because they're in clear view of companions to blast them away. Grenade launchers are great given how they can take out large crowds, but even in closed spaces this makes it easy to pick them off one at a time as they try to go through a door with us on opposite sides to always have the advantage to get them off guard. This is my key to surviving early game supernova. (make sure to use mods when you can)
I'm curious if your initial skills have an effect on your skill check requirements not your reputation? Was 3:17 recorded in the same story or in different stories with different initial skills (Strength, intelligence, personality)? Someone brought this up to me on why 1 skill check is easier while the other is harder in your 100% reputation video.
Have you had any problems with the tinkering cost/science skill? I sunk a lot of points into science and it was supposed to cap my tinkering costs on science weapons at level 80, but it didn’t actually kick in until I maxed science to 100 (base stat no bonuses)
The reason that dodge button is always visible is cuz you can always jump backwards or side to side you don't need the forward dodge to dodge backwards or to the side
6:39 I use that chest for weapons and more then there are two lockers by the cockpit where I use one for head pieces and one for body, I will probably keep my more in that chest but move my weapons to the two fridges in the kitchen of the ship so I can have one for melee and one for guns. Point is that there is at least 5 different containers on your ship where you can store stuff not just the one in the captains quarters.
As much as I love this game, it was far too empty and short. 3 playthroughs and I still feel like there should have been way more. Here's hoping the next one takes this amazing foundation and just builds exponentially on it!
On an Xbox controller you can skip a line of dialog by pressing the X button. I assume on PS4 that'd correspond to Square. From the start, you can dodge sideways or backward, it's only the forward lunge that is gated at 20 Dodge
With the robot weakness. If you talk to Ludwig in Edgewater and ask him during his quest Die, Robot. You can ask him. What is the easiest way to take down a robot and he will tell you to shot at the blue parts. I just wanted to say where you can find the information in game.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a PC mod for one eventually. It's on Unreal Engine 4, which has a built-in third person camera. Might even be able to activate it already with the dev console.
@@jkruse05 The funny thing is when you leave the game on running for a specific period of time your character appears facing the direction you left him in and the camera orbits around him like in fallout 4 letting you check him out! So why this game doesn't have a third person is beyond me.
@@jkruse05 Thats the BIG question my friend. Will this have mod support? Doesn't seem likely to me after all this is a small game. @@Dogmaguy74 It's about right where I expected. I followed Obsidian's official statements pretty closely, so I knew it would be focused on key features and sort of trimmed down. I don't really expect official mod support, but with Unreal being such a well known engine, knowledgeable creators may be able to pull of some interesting stuff. A third person camera doesn't require injecting any new content, and UE4 supports it by default, so it seems like a reasonable thing to see eventually.
I’m enjoying this game an absolute ton. The only mod I think is needed ASAP is a color overhaul. I’m all for a more colorful world but this game looks like it was drawn with neon crayons
all of the enemies and NPC's and stuff all damage each other too. I mean this might be straight forward really, but friendly fire works for them as well. I've had bad guys accidentally kill their mates while fighting them. also you can't switch between healing items. the slots you unlock are actually to add to your base healing item. so what you do is spec the inhaler to have the effects you want, based on the items you have in your bag. the more slots you unlock, the better you can make your healing charges. It's really cool actually. I wish dark souls would do this with estus flasks next, you making different types of flasks for different fights that can give buffs and stuff, would save loads of time. it's a cool idea.
never used it, but is idle camera NOT literally just a button for the "waiting for 3rd person" type camera? I assumed it was, but never cared about it, so I never used it.
Does this use a V.A.T.S type of system to slow combat? It kind of looks like it. So, overall, is the game pretty good? I'm still on the fence about buying it.
Time slows down and you unlock the ability to target body parts pretty early on. It doesn’t function quite like vats but it’s a similar concept. I’m enjoying it more that fallout 4 in every aspect so far.
*Tig Trager* let me help you there. The Outer Worlds is a game resembling Fallout New Vegas in which you must make various choices that affect the path you take and influence the way companions feel about if you decide to bring them along. The graphics and animations are very good but give off a nostalgic feeling as if you were playing Fallout New Vegas. Armor and weapon variety is a bit lacking which is odd to me.Armor consists of various recolors of an existing one except with different stats kinda lazy if you ask me.Weapons on the other hand are your usual set including heavy weapons like machine guns, grenade launchers, plasma casters, and flame throwers with no variety and tiers in its place as in Normal,Mk2 ,and lastly Ultra which is the strongest tier.Rifles include 2 shotguns,2 assault rifles, and 2 sniper rifles. Lastly there are handguns which are 2 revolvers, 2 pistols ,and your blaster known as the light gun. There are also Science weapons which are rare and obtained through quests as a reward or found in the areas where they take place. The game is played in a 1st person view since a 3rd person was not implemented but is very possible.Basically this Fallout New Vegas + Mass Effect and it goes well like two peas in a pod! Hope this helps.
You can always use sideways and backwards dodge even if your dodge skill is 0. You can actually dodge even enemy bullets with it. 20 points in it just unlocks the forward dodge.
Very helpful, but you should REALLY think about adding a little pause between tips. Maybe a quick title card. For the first few, I didn't even realize you'd switched to a different tip at first.
The first one about the unchecked weapon data is good until you are comparing companion gear, then it has the opposite effect where a gun in you inventory that is showing lets say 200 dps due to YOUR skills will only do 80 dps in the hands of your companion. so just saying it is really only a good idea to uncheck it when your deciding your own layout and then recheck it for easier party management.
Who else kinda thinks good vs bad rep systems kinda are hallmarks of Obsidian stuff after New Vegas; they’re in both Pillars games, Tyranny, and now Outer Worlds.
The worst thing about this game for me was, clicking all of the red cross items and putting them in your inhaler slots to keep your inhaler loaded. Didn't known about how to refill it until level 6. Had to change all my health restoring single use inventory to multi- use inhaler puffs.

@@Red_Beard2798 Ouch.
You can put it in idle mode from the menu to see your character instead of waiting.
Re: weapons in inventory... I found myself identifying the weapons and armor that I liked best then broke everything else down for repairing my gear.

I like that we have a crew and go to other planets (kinda feel like being the guardians of the galaxy), if they make a sequel wish they make the planet bigger for us to explore and more planets
I love this game as well and cannot wait for the 2nd one. It is one of the reasons I'm getting an xbox over ps5
"Focus on the blue part," I cannot second this enough. Especially when you verse the BIG DADDY of all mechs i the whole game.
Shock cannon for robots JuiceHead. Short range but boy are they effective
Yeah that thing puts them to sleep quick like overdosing a baby on Nyquil
Dodgle unlocks only dodging forward if you dont dump point into dodge you can still double tap space in any direction just not forward
And if you don't pick a direction, you jump backwards. Really the only useful application for a non-upgraded dodge. To make some distance to enemies charging into you.
There is also a storage locker right beside the exit door on your ship. Very important for weapon/gear collectors.
all of these are tutorialized within the first 30 minutes of the game, if you missed any of those you should propably learn to read, also friendly fire is not a thing (maybe on supernova?)
The dodge ability can be used no matter what by double clicking space bar, the ability to forward lunge is unlocked with the dodge skill
Some of them are not really hidden for me. I always open options before playing.
Outer Worlds is great, playing for the rest of this rainy day.

Love this game. Hoping Outer Worlds 2 is much bigger!!!
Another thing about the idle camera is that you can activate it from the pause menu whenever you want
Just finished my first play through of this, and I love it!
I don’t think I’ll hit 4 play throughs for a long time, but it’s great and I’ve been liking my 2nd run.
So a couple more things about Outer Worlds in case you want to do a followup video
1> When you see electricity traps spanning an area, usually causing you to leap over or duck under to circumnavigate, look around.
Cheers. Off to play some Outer Worlds, looking forward to seeing what you're up to these days 😁
i wish i could use multiple quests at the same time for the markers
“It’s not the best choice, it’s spacer’s choice!”
You forgot to mention you can holster your weapon (I didnt find this out till midway into my playthrough)
6:15
Yeah but I collect all the baseball, I mean tossball cards.
You can “unjunk” them, and they appear in general, I think.
Glad you are doing The Outer Worlds Juice!
Still new, how do you put out the fire with those annoying prey mantis looking things that spray fire on you?
Have you had any problems with the tinkering cost/science skill? I sunk a lot of points into science and it was supposed to cap my tinkering costs on science weapons at level 80, but it didn’t actually kick in until I maxed science to 100 (base stat no bonuses)
Can you quick save on ps4? Or is it only done manually from the start menu
>has trouble with robots
>doesnt do pistol build using the revolver
The Vermin is the best weapon, hands-down
The reason that dodge button is always visible is cuz you can always jump backwards or side to side you don't need the forward dodge to dodge backwards or to the side
Woah! Very first tip is a game changer!
Let's hope they make in way better with some DLC that adds new stuff to the game
The double space bar thing is always there because you can always use it, it’s just a side dodge until you get to 20 dodge
about the robots: the guy in the hangar in the 1st area you explore tells you about their weakness.
I just wanted to say where you can find the information in game.
man...I REALLY WANT A 3RD PERSON MOOOOOOOOOODE! Is this game gonna get any updates?
I don't mind 1st person but fully understand why you want 3rd person.
Funny thing is when i first learned of The Outer Worlds i believed that it was going to be a big game as the title would have suggested you know? Overall i LOVE this game HOWEVER i'd be lying if i said that it wasn't severely lacking in some key areas...What about you bro?
@@Dogmaguy74 It's about right where I expected. I followed Obsidian's official statements pretty closely, so I knew it would be focused on key features and sort of trimmed down.
I don't really expect official mod support, but with Unreal being such a well known engine, knowledgeable creators may be able to pull of some interesting stuff. A third person camera doesn't require injecting any new content, and UE4 supports it by default, so it seems like a reasonable thing to see eventually.
0:33 Guy just chilling while getting blasted, seems obsidian caught something from bethesda
Hey should I sell or break those items that I don't plan to use?
About the Dodge skill.... You can use backwards dodge before lvl 20, it's the forward dash that gets unlocked at 20
By default, you can only dodge "backwards" without putting points into dodge. That's why it's always there.
1:47 I accidentally skipped some dialogue and reload that area. Even though it doesn't say it I found out square (for PS4) is skip
I’m enjoying this game an absolute ton. The only mod I think is needed ASAP is a color overhaul. I’m all for a more colorful world but this game looks like it was drawn with neon crayons
It's a shame they don't tell you how to uninstall fallout 76
You don't need to be told. It just automatically uninstalls itself.
Lone Courier I remember that glitch. Course I’m on Xbox and it never glitches on xbox
You guys need to realize just because you guys hates the game doesn’t mean he’s going to uninstall it
Don't save your game during the final mission and then lose your character like I did
This.
all of the enemies and NPC's and stuff all damage each other too.
Best modern fallout game so far.
@@_serds no, this is what Fallout should have been, instead of the trash we got with 4 and 76.
@@AxTheAxe exactly. Best modern fallout game. So far.
The two tips at the beginner are the best. Thanks for posting this video, and thanks for putting the most meaningful content up-front. Good job.
You can use the jump dash from the start. Just can't do forward until dodge is up
They really need to add quick save to consoles.
Those huge robots are easier than the weird spider ones since you can always see their cores
i knew most of this stuff already. the game does tell you most of the stuff. either through dialog or through pop ups.
