  • This is a new Co2 reactor, built a bit larger to compensate for the high flow rate of the Fluval FX6. Speaking of flow, I hope you enjoy this pouring video.

So cool! I’m a fish keeper & an artist so I really appreciate this. Great idea! New sub from Australia ❤️🇦🇺

Thank you, just went through the same issue with my fluval fx6 about to build the same one now the outcome 😬

Did it work? I was looking at your original video as I'm needing an inline reactor for my FX6 on a 100 gallon. Or should we just use a difussing disc with a powerhead distributing the CO2?

Works well to this day. Very efficient. No bubbles visible entering tank @ 3 bubbles per second

Really nice! Did it work better than the first one?

      It works perfectly!

David I want to do one like yours, how much did you spend on it?. And just to have an idea, how many CO2 b/s are you injecting in your aquarium?.

I can't remember the exact amount I spent but I am thinking maybe 42$. 3 b/s. Add 8$ for the bioballs I filled it with. 50$.

Nice build, looks good! Curious to hear how this one does with the flow of the fx6 and how much co2 it can dissolve 👍

What would you recommend for bio balls or media to use inside?

Just plastic bioballs are fine. I use the black 1.25" ones

How much flow did you lose using such a large reactor? I'm thinking of building one myself for my FX6.

As far as I can tell I don't lose much at all if any. I haven't done a comparison, but it is also filled will bio balls. With Discus, I don't want too much flow anyways. But it seems to be enough, going good for a year and a half so far.

Can you please list the parts you used for this?

    • @hugheymorrow

I show those parts in my other reactor vid, just increase the ones from that vid to the 3" version. Barbed fittings are same on both versions.

@@hugheymorrow did you fill this up with any media to help desolve the co2? If yes, did that help and how did it effect the flow?

    • @hugheymorrow
      @hugheymorrow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I did add media, and I don't think it had much effect on flow because there must at least be enough space for flow in the 3 inch pipe between all the media to equal the space that is in the 1 inch flex pipe. There is probably more "flow rate" in the 3 inch pipe filled with media than there is in the pipe itself. Also, doesn't hurt to have the extra bio filtration.

Is that 3 or 4 inch pipe?
