That's actually false. Doxing IS NOT illegal, morally questionable at times sure. Its just obtaining publicly accessible info and posting it on a forum or pastebin website. You can get sued for it if the person you doxed knows your responsible. But unless you gained information illegally via hacking somebody's computer. THEN YES you can go to jail for that

Most people can trust a property manager with a key to get into their rental property without having to worry abt that pos manager giving that key to some criminal.

This is not so much about doxxing i think, but still a relevant question. I use Nord VPN, but a friend does not use a VPN.
For this reason she does not want to switch on the camera when we skype. Are we both vulnerable due to this, or she alone?
Technically a VPN protects the data on the device you're using it, so we can't help your friend, but your IP address is protected. However, if your friend is not protected and the hacker gets into her computer, yes, they will be able to see you chat. But hey, there's a bonus - you can run NordVPN on 6 devices at the same time, so if it's a close friend and you want to stay protected, you can do that!
