Uriah Heep was one of the biggest bands in the early 70's and reached its peak between 73 and 74 Gary Thain ( New Zeland ) was the best bassist in this period along with David Byron on Vocals . The Album Live January 1973 is one of the best of all time along with Deep Purple's Made in Japan . Ken Hensley on Keyboards was unbeatable ! Congratulations Brothers

Agreed the live album was as good as any live album from the main rock bands.

Demons is my favourite Heep album. I loved them from their debut album ' Very 'Eavy Very Humble ' on the vertigo label. Seen them 5 times first time 1971 in Glasgow The Look at Yourself tour with the brilliant Atomic Rooster in support.David Byron was one of rock's greatest voices.

I’m jealous, would have been great to see them back then.

Uriah Heep has many big hits...The first 7 albums were made by Uriah Heep, the group having the "golden" voice of world rock music, David Byron...After Byron's departure from Uriah Heep, the group was remade with other musicians but they were no longer...Uriah Heep...was "a fake"....
David Byron was the only rock vocalist who could "raise" his voice three octaves, a performance unmatched by other vocalists!.. R.I.P. David ...I miss you yet after 50 years !...

Byron's voice is incomparable and has an extraordinary timbre, for me after Robert Plant from the bands of the 70s I consider him one of the best, I know there's Ronie James Dio, Ian Gillan But his voice had a different quality

I would have probably loved this as a teenager, but it doesn't quite work for me now. They're very accomplished but there's something lacking for me that I find in Deep Purple and Rainbow, for all that the bands are not musically very far apart.

I also love Deep Purple but I have to disagree with you I think Uriah Heep had much better songwriting with Ken Hensley then Deep Purple ever had Ritchie Blackmore is one of my favorite guitarists though but for what Uriah Heep was doing I think Mick Box fit them perfectly

@@waynebowen2013 I'm not going to argue with you, although I think the songwriting in Deep Purple is underestimated, particularly in the Mark I and Mark III periods. I actually think Uriah Heep quite heavily influenced Ritchie Blackmore when it came to his template for Rainbow.
