    Another tip. You can sell fields for the same price you purchase them. So if you see one that's ready to harvest, you can buy it. Harvest the crop off it. Then sell it for the same price. Great for when you're low on cash.

      @@BeardifulBill thsat is what I said.
      you said "Great for when you're low on cash." And my thought is: a 100.000k or more in the bank is not low on cash.
      When you are low on cash, do contracts. You can rent the machinery for one contract and after completion, not handing that contract in. Instead: do other similar contracts using the same machinery with the already rented machines. Saves a little on having to lease it for every contract.

      @@lucde_ville4743 well the semantics of our definition of low on cash is beside the point. My tactic can give you plenty to sell without committing your money to a field.

      New guys, don't use this EXPLOIT that Giants has still not addressed by having variable field costs based on field state. If low on cash, take a loan, which is VERY low interest (as they are in RL for farmers, because they use the world's best collateral....LAND). If worried about the interest payments, plant a Government Subsidy sign to help out, for the time you need it (another REAL thing). No farmer in their right mind would sell a field ready to harvest, and then buy it back for the same amount after harvest.

    As a new player, I actually liked playing with seasons turned on because I felt like it gave me built-in structure for when I was "supposed" to do certain things. Like, "Okay, now it is harvest season" or "Now it is winter, time to make sure all my equipment is repaired" etc. Greenhouses can also be a good way to start bringing in some low-effort income as well, and a lot of my field equipment is sponsored straight from greenhouse profits.

    • @davey2487
      @davey2487 ปีที่แล้ว

      Once built a whole farm with greenhouses, just for the heck of it. Basically all you need to do is bring water and have cows for manure. And you can also do ones that only need water. Or add a mod that lets you buy the manure and put in straight into the production process.

    Another tip, at least from what I did in FS 19, is that some of your field may have tall grass, or trees, that you can make a little extra money to cut. I forgot to get a house, and didn't know of any other way to skip time, so I literally just spent all the time doing contracts until I noticed that I could get a chainsaw to get rid of some annoying trees as well as a mower to get rid of the tall grass so my land looked neat. Made for an interesting back story of my farmer sleeping in the truck, but gave me enough time waiting to watch more tutorial videos to learn what I was doing wrong.

    Another tip, you can do 3 contracts at a time, get contracts that require similar tools, borrow the tools on the contract that cost the least then do all the contracts to get the most money and avoid unnecessary rental fees 😝 you can also keep the contract you rented the equipment on active, close out the other 2 contracts and collect the money and begin 2 new contracts and continue to do the same process over and over!

      Not a bad tip, but rents are pretty cheap, and you'll be doing three jobs at the same time vs one at the time. I don't have any math to back up my claim (feeling, really), but I think you are making more money by doing them all together and starting new as one ends.

    A little appendix to tip 5, know what you’re buying. Bigger isn’t always better. If you can get big equipment at the discount menu by all means do it, but putting a 12m head on your starting combine will make offloading difficult.
    Also, note the field size. You might be able to do a small field in 1 or 2 passes with large equipment, but it could potentially get hung up on something on the edge of the field, like a fence or trees or parked equipment.
    Also also, bigger equipment requires a stronger tractor. Meaning instead of planting quickly with the starter planter, a larger planter on the starting tractor would go much slower.

    Good video. I would only make one argument. Tip 9. I wouldn't turn off any of the field prep except maybe the stone. I recall going super easy in FS17 (my first FS title) and then later, much later, started adding field prep back in. This is a significant change in the game. Now there's plowing to do, I need a plow. Now I have to fertilize more often, I need a fertilizer. So, making the game super simple to begin with doesn't always pay dividends in the end. Crop destruction, seasons, wilting (if it can turned off) should definitely be disabled for a time while the feel for the game becomes more natural.

    The best tip for beginners that most videos dont cover is to quickly get 1 or 2 medium size field at a minimum. U will quickly find out that a problem that the game only tends to give u small fields at the start. Now for the total beginner that is fine to learn how the equipment is used but the moment u wanna start to expand and get bigger equipment u will run into a massive roadblock, MONEY. The medium equipment per say isent to expensive however it quickly ramps up when u realise how mutch new things u need to buy and even more so when u look at the horsepower requirment for the tractor that u need to use them. The small fields u get at the start are way to small to support any kind of expansion. U need bigger fields and u need them fast before u get stuck in a loop of having to harvest 2-3 small fields while barely making a profit on them.

    Farmer Cop, planting oilseed radish has a big advantage. It costs very little in seed price. It can then be cultivated for one full fertilizer state after one month. In essence, virtually free fertilizer. This happens after only one month. With seasonal cycles, it is very advisable to do it on every field. That being said, I love your content. Keep up the good work. Stay safe out there.

    • @dansiegel995
      @dansiegel995 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      However they have one large disadvantage. It rquires a seeder, which usually costs a lot more than your fertilizing equipment. And its slower, and more narrow.....there might be certain situations where it's better, but I can't think of any. Seed vs. Fert costs is a small part of your bottom line. Maintenance, equipment life, and most important, time.

    My tip is to get enough no work money generators like wind/solar on your farm to cover the base property and equipment costs, so that way you can stock up on your products and diversify your crops without having to worry about going broke while you wait for a good deal. Sell Price Trigger is a good mod to tell you when a good time to sell is without having to have an excel spreadsheet.
    You really only need one or two tractors and your basic tools, things like combines that you only use once a harvest really can be leased without a huge hit to your bottom line, it's better to buy land than it is to buy equipment.

    When it comes to doing contract work. More often than not, there are multiple of the same task. Borrow the items for either the cheapest or the one with the larger equipment to get the job done faster, but only borrow from one and use the equipment for ALL the jobs. Just don't collect on the job you borrowed the equipment for.
    Also, I found when harvesting contracting, sometimes you get extra crops, either sell them or save in your silo for when prices are higher. Nothing better than free crops/money.

    One other tip, because its new in FS22 and not documented yet on the FS Academy and at best glossed over on the in-game help. MAINTENANCE. The wrech icon is your vehicle or implement's maintenance status, 0 to 100. Vehicles have their top speed, engine horsepower, and fuel efficiency, drop from 0 to 30% based on how much maintenance you need. The most important part is harvesters...they as well will lose crop yield, 0 to 40% based on the efficiency. Make sure to repair your harvester after every field! If its old and used, it might need to be repaired even in the middle of a harvest - because of this, there is a mod for all platforms called mobile repair, which basically let's you repair and customize your vehicles anywhere. Definitely use this to keep Harvesters always above atleast 90% maintenance. For tractors and implements, just note the working speed - maybe you are now struggling up a small slope, where before you could go at max speed...that's because the engine HP is down, or the implement is damaged...this will lead to slower farming, and even higher maintenance bills as it takes longer to use your worn out equipment. It doesn't cost more to keep maintenance always above 90% vs always above 50%, other than the time to jump out and do a quick repair.
    Also, DONT SIT IN YOUR TRACTOR DOING NOTHING - for whatever reason, as of now, you have decay on your maintenace, if you and an AI worker is IN the vehicle...even if engine is off and listening to the radio. Being outside your vehicle, but leaving the engine on doesn't lower maintenance, it simply just adds to engine hours. However, the more engine hours you have and the older the vehicle is, the faster it's maintenance will decay. So, be prepared for much higher repair bills when buying that sweet John Deere X9 for only $250k, however is 4 years old and has 37 hours on it (lol, the design isn't even 4 years old...but you get my drift). Have fun!

    I have maybe 90 hours in FS 19 and alot of times I always felt too tired IRL to actually play the game... and now I know why.
    1. Too many mods, I spent more time downloading mods to make the game better and then never actual using half of them or buying them. 😂
    2. Building mode took so long to do scrolling through so many buildings/houses/decorations/etc.
    3. I absolutely hated the base game "U.S" map, Ravenport. I just could not enjoy it, even with modifying it.
    In a month or so when the price goes down and few bugs sorted out im going to buy FS 22 and play Elmcreek without mods for a good long while. I don't like farming on Euro maps, I can't relate.
    The map looks really good and I've seen alot of videos on it. FS 22 seems like a totally new game with everything they have re-done. The building mode is also a big game changer. I could see FS making a energy/tiredness and hunger meter... I mean they should because we do have a diner lol. I don't do farming in real life but I do drive a semi for a living so I can imagine those guys get super hungry on the fields.

      One BIG reason to NOT download, or atleast install mods on your game that you really don't know what they do or would hardly ever use, is that mods are in the used equipment listings as well. You don't want it flooded with junk you will never ever buy.

    I started by selling everything I didn’t need. Bought a mower, a windrower and a forage wagon. Started doing silage. Rented conveyor belts and a trailer to sell the silage.
    After making enough money I sold the forage wagon and silage pit (don’t forget to return any leased equipment!) Then upgraded to silage bales by buying a baler and wrapper. I found pit silage to be really difficult on console so I went with bales. Spent a couple in game years just making silage bales to sell. Made a lot of money. Found the largest claas lexion harvester in the used equipment page for half off. So I bought that, a corn header, a corn planter and a new field. Did corn harvesting while waiting for grass to regrow. Used equipment is your friend. You can get some awesome stuff.
    I do feel like I’m progressing too fast but I do like playing that way. I get bored easily so I need to have change often. I do attribute my quick progress to getting large equipment early on through the used machinery tab. Even if you can’t repair it right away, it’s still worth it.
    After selling corn and more silage, I bought a field ready to harvest, rented a grain header, harvested the field and returned that header.
    I think I’ll start doing productions next. Not sure if I want to get into animals but if I did it would probably be sheep or chickens.

    I don't know about a PC but PlayStation has a limit on how much space you use up for mods. I think it's 8400 mb or close to it, they have a "counter" on how much you do have so if you're maxed out, you have to delete some to make space for what new stuff you want.

    • @scottyscott9965

    @farmercop hey if i may attempt to give you a pointer on vids like this, i would recommend trying to improve on your dialogue to keeping in mind you are aiming these videos at gamers completely new to the genre. Meaning for example your tip 3 3:29 is to sell what you dont need, well imagine if you are a new gamer to this genre, they may not know what they dont need. Me for example I consider myself a light gamer to simulator genre and as such im barely playing fs19 again after an almost 2 yr break. Im rewatching your vids to refresh my memory on stuff but a lot of times you speak as someone who has been playing these games a very long time, obviously, ahhaa but i would try to keep in mind some of these viewers are coming into this genre with no knowledge at all. Again in the example, its hard to sell what you dont need, if you dont know what you dont need ahhaha anyways love the vids, love the narrative keep it up 🔥👍

    Hi, I'm brand new to the FS franchise and have been really enjoying the game! But after my very first day of working my three fields as the "tutorial/guide" explained, including selling my wheat, it turned night time and the "?" on my porch lit up blue and indicated I could go to sleep now. When I click "R" to go to sleep, a window pops up and tells me I'm not tired enough... I tried this around 8PM, 10PM, 1AM. Additionally, the little field next to my house (right-side) has been seeded with canola (selling the best at the moment and is in season, August atm) but the tutorial keeps telling me I need to cultivate the field even after following the tutorial and doing all of that initially, it will not permit me to continue. What am I doing wrong please and thank you kindly!
    PS: I've now started over with a brand new fresh game without the tutorial so I can try again.

    Easy on the mods, because.... some mods don't play well together, and trying to figure out which ones can be a mighty battle of frustration. Too many mods slows game load and save game load, and can slow game play. Having too much equipment loaded can make for a frustrating shop search.

    I always enjoy your information videos; but here’s a question: How does the game work with Seasonal Cycles turned off? Does it still use months and days per month? Do crops mature in a certain number of days or a certain number of months? If months are still present, does the weather correspond to the season ( even though it doesn’t affect which crops you can plant)?

    • @jbgaming5822

  • @Lexor888
    @Lexor888 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    IDK why anyone could try to talk you out of a loan in this game, from my point of view it's the easiest way to get relatively large sums of cash fast and it's very affordable - it's not 20k or more like he said, for the full 500k credit you pay 2.800 per month (on normal difficulty).
    Just to keep an easy income to cover the costs of your credit you can build 2 large green houses and buy the small water tank, set the green houses on auto sell and use the water tank to get water from the river/lakes (so it's free) - that's a minimalistic 30k investment that will cover the credit.
