No better feeling than a well struck one handed backhand.

one hander is so lovely. Also, I think it balances out the muscles in the arm & particularly shoulder from hitting tons of FHs. Thanks for the inspiration, my daughter wants to play the one hander & all the coaches vetoed it. Will set the slinger up & give it another try!

My problem for one handed backhand is dealing with high topspin deep balls to my backhand side, what is the best way to handle it?

Take the ball early if possible

      Agree with @chrisuziel5698, or slice

Could not agree more. And notice how there are many who move to the 1h but very few move the other way.

The German teacher was telling my son who loves the one handed, that this is forbidden in his lessons. We decided to not continue there.

    Agree
Why do so many people still use two-handed backhands? The reason they gave is that it is easier to learn and more stable.
I've been training my wife with one-handed backhands since the beginning, it feels good

Timing is easier. Return of serve and high balls are easier. At the rec level, its not as advantageous. But as the speed of the game increases, the 1HBH can become a weakness. Hence why most of the pros use 2HBHs in the modern game.

As I said in the video, 2 hands is probably best for most people, but many people (including myself) just prefer the feel of the one hander. There are many other advantages. For instance, most net rushers play one hand

I tried my best to get good with a 2 handed backhand since it's what my couch taught me. I became somewhat good but was EXTREMELY inconsistent. I tried one handed one day and it literally was at the same level of my forehand (which was pretty solid in a good day imo), probably even more consistent and could deliver really speedy shots which made me really glad and feel like Federer 😂
For some reason, I couldn't coordinate both hands into a backhander that well and running with both hands touching the racket made me lost a lot of balance. The one hander instantly eliminated those problems and felt awesome the first time I tried it.

And also, being able to consistently hit good one handers boosted a lot my confidence and then I finally won against my dad lol (now the record is like 30-1)

Two-Handed Backhands are for players who can't play One-Handed Backhands!
