To me it is more than obvious that the Russian empire's defeat inevitably leads to its complete disintegration.

There is no doubt in my mind that every Ukrainian soldier should have all the required gear to operate in the winter conditions. I saw Canada donated half a million winter uniforms or whatever it's called. I can only imagine what difference it makes; sleeping out in the winter with the full, warm gear and without it. Talk about morale booster or destroyer. I moved 2,000 miles from Cleveland to South Florida to get away from the cold. This is something the West can absolutely provide Ukraine in droves

The problem is that Russia has nukes, and there are so many questions around them.
We have NEVER seen how a country that has that option reacts to being invaded and I cannot see a result in which Russia surrenders.
I personally see this going 1 of 3 ways.
Ukraine pushing to Russia borders and it becoming a blood bath because Ukraine will not push into Russia due to nukes and Russia will not surrender.

Take a close look at Kadyrov and Lukashenko, Putin's big pals and allies. Neither of them is really giving him 100% support as they did before. They are still present on the scene but there are fine cracks developing because they are both worried about losing their own support bases. Kadyrov wants to step down as the Chechen leader and Lukashenko is not prepared to offer Putin any of his soldiers. Putin is becoming more and more isolated.

Gen. Hodges has been right from the start and was the first pundit/expert to call out the AFU's true capabilities. He's also upped his trolling game ("whining coming from the Kremlin"). Hodges predicting Ukraine will recover all territory is a great sign. Putin won't survive this war.

When Hodges speaks, I listen. What a high quality mind and decent person.
Gen Hodges is the most articulate, credible person I've heard speak about this war since day 1. Very good interview.
He's neither articulate nor sober but Lazerpig is pretty good too. He's a pig though, so you get what you get.
It is very important that Putin does lose everything he has taken, as anything else sends an appalling message to leaders of other nations that still feel other nations are there just for their military to grab. That era must now be in the past, and borders respected by both individuals and nations.
To really drive the message home, ruSSia should lose more than was taken (and that includes Putin's life).

I always look for |Lt General Hodges's interviews. He puts everything in perspective and has such knowledge on this topic. He is so calm and informative and gives you so much faith that Ukraine will succeed.

With respect and no offense. Is time for people read the whole history of Russia and Ukraine that most Americans haven't. Crimea was LAST part of Russia since the 17hds and given to Ukraine as a present from the Ukraine president of CCCP in 1954 that is why the referendum passed. Majority wanted to join Russia. I don't understand why Western media US never said this truth. Is like if we Native Americans would get our land back.

Unfortunately, Ukraine let the Russian rent the Sebastopol port to the Russians who basically flooded Crimea with Russian militaries, their families and decided they would not leave when asked to. So they took it and annexed it in 2014. That is what happened.

I was so impressed by Gen. Hodges's analysis of this war several months ago that I bought his book, which is excellent. It's a heavy read, to be sure, and I'm having to read it slowly, but I think it's a great book and well worth buying and reading. It's called "Future War and the Defence of Europe". Buy it today.

Hodges accurately predicted the Ukrainian counter-offensive in September. I hope he is right about Ukraine taking over Kherson in 3-4 weeks.
It takes time to prepare for another counteroffensives. Ukraine is gonna unleash one here soon. There setting up there cards to play out like they want them to. It gonna be a fight to take all of kersone.
He also predicted that the Russians would fail to take Kiev in the Spring when Biden's talking heads were saying Kiev would fall within a month.
@@josephsloop8865 That seemed to be the consensus that Kiev would fall in a week. I heard it from Gen. Barry McCaffrey who has been right on things since.
@@vincentdesapio My point is that Hodges accurately predicted that Kiev wouldn't fall when others said it would. Precisely because it was the general consensus (groupthink) and Hodges dared to think otherwise, and was proven right, is what distinguishes a brilliant strategist from a standard tactician. Hodges is the former. Most of today's generals are the latter. I am more apt to listen to what Hodges says about how things will play out vs other pundits because of this fact.

I'm curious as to what General Hodges thinks the effect of the strikes on the energy infrastructure will have on the advances on both Donetsk and Kherson. Ukrainian forces rely very heavily on electric rail to move troops around and many cities have reported prolonged blackouts.
I'm also somewhat apprehensive of the idea that Kherson will be in Ukrainian hands within 3-4 weeks when mostly wheeled vehicles will have to advance through autumn mud, over open steppe, towards russian positions that have been dug heavily in and received fresh troops and supplies. Seems a bit......unlikely.

In the Winter War the Soviets failed to provide winter clothing to their soldiers which left them not only freezing to death in one of the coldest winters in somewhat recent history and standing out against the snow in their brown uniforms which made them easy to spot for Finnish snipers.
With respect and no offense. Where did you get this info from an anti Russian media. They lost 27 million in wwii but were able to mobilize made it to Berlin first and declared the end of the war. They paid by blood. The battle of Stalingrad was the worst in wwii the cold was brutal but were able to win the battle. Opposite Soviet army tolerated winter. US soldiers could not deal with it. Russians since childhood are conditioned to tolerate cold. In Schools during the brake just in bathing suites go outside in winter and splash them self with frozen water. Their are competitions who can last longer in frozen lakes. All Russian are built so people can get into freezing lakes and to saunas. I recall a video was shown here. And Americans comments were that it was an abuse for the kids that parents should be punished for it. This creates good circulation and prevents from having colds. I went to a cottage with Russians in Canada and couldn't believe how they could tolerate that.

As I recall, there were quite a lot of them in the form of ice statues in march littering Ukrainian fields, but you must be right, it must be totally different in peak season nov-jan. This explains why they chose to start the invasion in February, when it was warmer and they were in better form than they are now. It makes perfect sense that their now weakened army will flourish in the winter which their the untouched one avoided.
You can be sure the Russians watch this and will be somewhat concerned.
