Keep it up! Excellent video and quality. We all who've watched need to get the word out. It's a shame for this video and it seems also this channel in general that is creating high quality content to have less than 10k subs and this video to have less than 1k views after about a week.
This is extremely generous, thank you. It usually takes a few weeks for these videos to get going but either way I appreciate the support and kind words.
Great video! I like that u actually gave a proper analysis of part 2 rather that just pure hate the whole time. Quite refreshing to find on TH-cam. Here's hoping there's a part 3 releasing soon.
amazing video, i like the take on part II, like u accept the whole thing we got, showing the good and bad which is also better than 99% of what people did
Troy baker and Ashley Johnson put in probably the best voice acting performances in video game history and a lot of the franchise's continued success hinges on that. Not to say the game was bad as a game, but it was definitely not the best game ever made. Without them it would be so much less of a cultural phenomenon
I never got to play the Last of Us and this video was really good for me to understand it. Part 2 seemed indeed miserable and I am at a point in my life where I need a bit more brightness in my life, it felt uncomfortable and needlessly cruel. However, just because this is not enjoyable for me, does not mean that it's bad.
First of all, great video ( recently enjoyed your GTA one too). I ignored The Last of Us when it first came out. Then when part 2 released I bought it just because everyone was talking about it. I got swept up in the hype train. The night before it was due to arrive, I looked up the story for Part 1 online. I loved it so much. Absolutely masterpiece IMO. I've played video games for over 30 years. The Last of Us Part 2 is my 2nd favourite game of all time. Since it came out I still haven't played Part 1. I just feel like I already know the story. Yeah I know what you're going to say; that I should play it anyway. Maybe when it comes down from its very high price. I've played Part 2 about four times. It's not just the story and gameplay that blows me away. It's the world building too. Apocalyptic Seattle is amazing. It's fascinating (and sad) that the WLF decide the city is unworkable in the end. Too cracked and broken and awkward to get around. Contrast to thriving Jackson.
I didn't care for Bella Ramsey because she portrayed Ellie as a sociopathic monster who revels in the suffering of others rather than an innocent kid whose entire life is collapsing around her. I think that means she'll do alright later on, I guess, when Ellie becomes a sociopathic monster, but I remember Ellie as playful prankster who just wanted things to be good and I can't stop seeing Bella Ramsey smirk as she watches Joel beats a guard to death in front of her.
The logistics of the cure is absolutely relevant though. The Last of Us is the most overrated game of all time, but even in 2013, the "grand moral question" around what Joel did was meaningless. The idea a fringe terrorist group could have fixed the world with one girl's brain makes no sense. It goes way, way beyond dramatic license or the suspension of disbelief... and that's what the whole series hinges upon. It's contrived, something that gets much, much worse in the sequel.
Quite a incredible amount of quality for such a small numbers of subs.
I'll do my part.
Yay a new video! Time to go grab the popcorn
Amazing as always!
Cheers mate.
1:50:41 this final scene with Joel and Ellie is a masterclass in writing and acting.
Another fucking banger of a video, thank you for your content you make my day just that little bit better
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.

One of the best videos on the subject

I really dislike the repetition of the presumption of Ellie wanting to give up her life for the possibility of the cure.
Was she ever asked?
No. Never had the opportunity to even question it.
@@65firered Precisely. If people were so confident in her altruism, then why didn't they simply ask.

Yea why would they have to take the brain out and not her B cells which produce antibodies and thus immunity..? Sigh.
