That explains the installation. Thanks. Seems our kit did not include instructions.
On mine I have a 2016 TerraTrike Rover, and done have a more stable Low Rider Rack. Debating about just adding the battery mount to the rack as opposed to using your clamp, the riser, then the mount. Will take another look at it tomorrow.

@TerraCycle say you have a folding FWD recumbent and you’re converting to an e-Bike, is it possible to install a battery mount without affecting the bike’s geometry? (Basically, I still want to be able to fold the bike for storage/transport)

That's going to depend on the battery you have. We've provided threaded holes in our mount at the spacing for most downtube batteries, and we have an additional shelf (Battery Mount Adapter Shelf) that we sell separately for larger batteries.
