The staff worked on this game in their spare time because Capcom didn't have enough faith in it, due to the unpopularity of the first game. I'm glad because this series is awesome!
A minute and 31 seconds into the run and my mind is already blown. These games have ALWAYS been notoriously difficult for me and you made the first look like a regular shite enemy. Excellent clunk!
How is it that I've been playing Mega Man 2 since it came out and I never realized you could charge the Heat weapon until now! Thank you Cowboy for showing me the way once again! You have officially become my go-to on how to do shit!
"How is it that I've been playing Mega Man 2 since it came out and I never realized you could charge the Heat weapon until now!" -- It's because you're an idiot. That's all there is to it. I am really embarrassed to admit that i didnt know until i saw this video that Heat man's weapon is chargeable (i used it just like basic pea shooter) and Metal blade can be used in any direction
Yeah I posted a comment on here also talking about how I record it the stages on the game through my boombox lol.. I love this game and it's music when I was a kid. I would throw that cassette tape in that Sony Walkman before I hit the bed and would be knocked out before I knew it snoozing to the tunes. 🤗🤟
This is the very first video game I purchased with my own money as a child. I'd been putting $2 away every week for several months so I could afford to splurge on a NES cart in town! I still remember walking around the shops afterwards.. chuffed, but in a hurry to get back home :P
Started watching your speed runs just recently they’re all Awesome I am absolutely shocked with this one particularly cause I’m a huge mm2 fan. Absolutely Awesome
Pretty good..ive come close to this before. Maybe 33mins or so. Airman--metalman--woodman--flashman--crashman--quickman--bubbleman--heatman Order I do it in. Good run dude
It's funny hearing about all the comments about how great the music is because when I was a kid I took my boombox and hit the record button on a bunch of the stages in Mega Man 2. I used to love playing them in my Sony Walkman when I was a kid trying to fall asleep at night. Little did I know at the time that most people consider this one of the best NES soundtracks so now I don't feel as weird about it lol. I really did love that games music as a kid though.
I just watched the world record of MM2 live by cyghfer with a time of 26:32. a couple of weeks ago. Amazing to see the best player in the world play this game.
I gotta be honest for a second. I usually consider these professional gamers to be absolute puds. But this guy has got serious talent. I'm good at video games. Very good. This guy is incredible
I’ve never tried doing flash man first and using his power to go through airman a little faster. I always just start with airman but I like what you’ve done here
Nice job on the speed run. I dunno if you read the comment section here on TH-cam but you can shorten your time down by using air man's weapon on heat man. It's much faster than buster. I say this given your choice of route. Still, a really good speed run with a decent show of glitches.
He's playing in Normal mode, the bosses and enemies have less HP in this mode That's the only Classic Mega Man game that have different difficulties, if I'm not mistaken
I loved this game. I spent hours playing it and beating it. I never knew about the cheats/hacks. Only one I ever knew about was you could make mega man jump high by pressing and holding ab on the 2nd controller.
One of the best soundtracks to ever come from a video game period.
I love Double Dragon too.

One of the absolute best 8-bit soundtracks ever!! The music is regularly (randomly) running through my mind!
I'd argue it's THE best. Castlevania has some bangers and so does Ninja Gaiden, but no game has more than this one.
