@@garyg8036 yea it would have been better to replace the whole thing but it was still pretty strong it was just flexing at the ground where the metal got pounded in. So the metal was just flexing
Thanks! If I was doing my own, and wanted to move it back a few inches, would have cut the top of the post flush with arm and cut a few inches off front of arm. Then just mounted box further back. It does need more work than that to be made whole, but would have been an easy improvement. I don't know if I'd want to do that for a customer, but would otherwise.
Yea it wasn't going to look better if i cut it and moved it back. I've learned over the years the more stuff I touch the more issues. But yea good idea tho!!!
Arizona native, spent 20 years in the northern Indiana and the weather was much like Vegas because you never knew what would be next weatherwise! Many times issues with doorbells are power related. Insufficient voltage or current from the existing transformer. It's always a guess as to where the transformer might be hiding. I recommend replacing it, if you can find it. Also, in cold climates, the battery suffers to maintain a charge. Lithium Ion isn't a fan of extreme temperatures.
Yea I've bought a few years ago. I used to tape hand warmers to my chest on the cell tower. Well not on my bare chest but I had a shirt and another thicker long sleeve over that and tape it on there 4 at a time hahah. Open my coat up and steam would be rolling out hahaha. Don't tape hand warmers to ur chest lol the guys would make fun of me for it lol 😆
The whole post is crooked I don’t think an 1/8th is going to make much of a difference! Use your Sawzall and cut the bottom off so it isn’t sticking past the front of the box. I was surprised when you took the Ring off and had that much wire to work with every doorbell I worked on I had about an inch of wire sticking out and no play at all.
OMG it’s a mailbox on a rotten post not a Picasso painting. Get yourself a few sharpies and leave the carpenter pencils in your wood working bag. Great vid on mailbox 👍👍
Ive lived in the snow, never sub zero but single digits, I've lived in the desert too, 115 the first year I lived there. It was disgusting. My truck didn't have a/c and driving with the windows open was like a blow-dryer. My keys would get so hot just bring in the ignition and the metal part of the seatbelt would sting. I prefer the cold myself, you can bundle up, if you are still cold get thicker layers, heat, shirt and shorts and you are still hot.
Hey man, I'm curious why you didn't just cut off the post and install that metal mount on the post. It looks like it would still be code for the mail box.
@@randydavidson7558 I think it's evening out now finally, haha I made good money climbing cell towers and had good health benefits. If I didn't waste a bunch of money on tools and materials I would be doing amazing lol

a little never-seeze on stainless hardware works great to prevent galling. Makes it easier to remove in the future too
Lol one 1 thing ton find in the truck but ur right. I'm always redoing stuff so I should buy it. Lol love ur Patrick star!!
She actually needed an entire new mailbox post as well that she unfortunately didn't want to pay for. Nice quick & simple replacement.

Yea trying to find the transformer is a joke sometimes lol 😆 I agree with u with the battery big time!!
@thehandymanexperience226 without a doubt. I'm right there with you. I've seen 6 volts, 10 volts, etc. You name it...

Hahahaaha yea I do love my morning drives to the job. Nice and mellow
Nothing should hang out over the curb, the wood post should have been moved back.
She didn't want me to do that I gave her 2 prices

Random question but are you better off financially now with your own business compared to when you did cell towers?
