I know that 2.5L V6 doesn’t have that much power at 204 HP but if you don’t care about that and just want a comfortable ride that is still sporty, this IS 250 is a good choice. Plus that V6 will last year an eternity as expected from Lexus.
Actually this 2.5 engine have problematic carbon buildup because it only have direct fuel injetcion, the 350 is a better buy with plenty more power and port/direct fuel injection that eliminates this issue. But i also seen some ppl with a lot of miles on this 250.
I own a 2011 Lexus is250, recorded 7.2 seconds in Sport mode and ECT power enabled. The car isn't fast but it is fast enough... especially for a daily. Thanks for your review mate.
I have an 08 250 with a 2012 transmission. With ECT on and VSC off I can do 0-60 in under 6 seconds, my car is also lowered and has iridium spark plugs with an open f sport air box. Always a fun experience even doing everyday things.
Also not a lot of people know this about these cars but turning trac off allows shifting at higher rpm in lower gears which is also good if you’d like to drift or hit corners while maintaining speed
The second gen is250 has a lot of features even cars now don’t have… mine has Auto Unlock and if you hold the unlock key it rolls all the windows down for those hot days.
@@epicsnowleapard that’s why I said it’s for a hot day 😭you do it before you get to your car to try and let the hot air out… it’s not to just roll them all down for show
@@epicsnowleapardnot a gimmick, I go running and my car sits in the sun the whole time. The last thing I wanna do is sit inside a hot air filled cabin. I hold unlock to let the air out as I walk towards my car. Turn it on and the AC once I’m there and I literally don’t feel that nasty hot air car feeling ever.
This is actually the one year of the second gen IS to avoid. They didn't have an automatic passenger airbag cutoff for not enough weight on the seat, so even if your seat is empty, the passenger front and knee airbags will still deploy. The cutoff came starting with the 2007 model year, so 2007-2013 (and newer) IS models do have the cutoff and thus will not inflate the passenger airbag (or passenger knee airbag) for less than, I think, 65 pounds on the seat. Plus first year of the body style and all. Even if you don't have kids in the car, do you really want an airbag tearing up your dash and driving up repair costs when there's no one for it to protect? Get the 350 over the 250. Yes I understand it’s harder to find but it’s worth the wait. The 2gr-fse is way more reliable then the 4gr. It makes way more power and gets the same mpg.
The 2006 is 250 is the worst Lexus ever made ! First of all the 2006 model was the first of the 2nd generation which has a lot of faults, secondly the 250 (2.5) is the only Lexus that has engine oil buildups which causes a lot of damage to the cars engine , so the overall results of this 2006 is250 is just a failure, any Lexus after that was ok , like 2007 on words, as long as it's not a 250

204hp is plenty
@@DMCarReviews pretty much the same amount of power as the current RAV4 with the 2.5L 4 cylinder, so plenty of power for just normal street driving.

Lexus v6 engines are amazing to drive and indestructible.
That is very true!
I’ve had a couple IS350s and can’t get enough of them. Ultimately I want an ISF to be the “forever” car.
I’m buying this soon, I’m so excited
yay
Best review of this car you can find. Finally someone that goes over everything you could want to know

I just bought a 2006 Lexus is 250 with only 9900 miles on it. I am in love with this car ❤️☺️😘
Very nice!
How much
I LOVED the styling on this IS. The new one is nice too, but in a different way. This was it though.
This was great!

Should of hit the ect power button. Makes the throttle more responsive and the gears rev out more.

How does a g37 ride and handle compared to this?

I agree while the 250 is good the 3.5l 2gr-fse engine is superior.
They're fantastic cars but small. The ES is definitely better. But for a superb reliable daily driver, this is a fantastic buy
I liked the IS more than the ES. It's not a fwd biased car like the ES.
the GS is what your looking for, essentially a bigger IS and is more luxurious than the ES. Sporty drive and solid build
Does it have a back camera?
Yes
How does it handle compare to a 2015 E350
Very similar actually. The E350 does feel more planted at higher speeds.
