I am Black American , I read many fairytale books of Queen, King, Princesses and other lands. Susan brought all this real to me. I never heard bagpipes and these kind of songs. I am now singing Mull of Kintyre. I am Scottish right now .
Good for you. I am Irish-Italian and love Irish and Scottish music, from the Traditional to the Punk. Yes, there is Irish and Scottish Punk Rock. My daughter now 41 loves this music too and she has a Black father. I took her to visit Ireland twice. Took my son once, They both loved it. Music is the Universal language. It just brings millions of people together. There is a lovely version of "Scotland the Brave" with lyrics here on You Tube. It is the one with the photo of a very tattered old Flag of Scotland.

Mull of Kintyre is the bit of land on England closest to the north-east corner of Ireland. It hold almost supernatural significance to the English. You can't even see Ireland across the ocean. And there are a very small number of people who live there. The road is not even wide enough for two cars. But it is internationally significant. If I ever get a chance to visit I most certainly will. Nobody will understand why I'm going to this very ordinary backwater almost wilderness place. But I will go.

Never heard this except for McCartney. What a treat to hear Susan sing it. My family is originally from the Argyl region - Campbelltown - and this song touches me to the soul. When I visit Scotland from the States - I melt when I hear this.

Paul McCartney composed songs that are on par with GreenSleeves, Danny Boy and lots of other folk songs. They will be sung for centuries. I am just a nobody who lived in this era (1971-present) but I managed to take my 18y daughter to see him while he is still among us (Freshen up tour, payed front rows split monthly payments). Will remember forever.
She got to sing for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II!! A dream come true! Her Majesty loves her Scottish home. I deeply wish both her and Miss Boyle health, long life and joy!
I can't remember how many times I listened to that. When the pipes set in together with Mrs. Boyles stunning voice it gets me goosebumps instantly. Every time!

She is so lovely and talented. This is one of my favorites of her performances. I had the privilege of meeting with her personally in her dressing room at her Phoenix concert to present a special gift some of us had made for her. Mark that off my bucket list lol. She was as sweet and funny in person as she appears on stage.
This song always gets to me and I tend to get emotional when I hear the pipes. Her rendition was spot on, thank you so very much.

I watched the first audition and some in the audience were rolling their eyes.. than she started singing and the rest is history. Dreams do come true at 47. Beautiful lady with a beautiful voice. She still lives in the same house she grew up in with 9 family members. Much respect to her.
