What amazes me about her is, there are moments when this 54 year old voice sounds like it could be coming from a young woman maybe even in her teens. Her control and vibrato are fully mature and then sometimes, this airy fragility generally found in a girl's voice comes out of nowhere. Exquisite sound.

Gosh..... she just took this classic and made it entirely her own.... so comfortable with the microphone and completely in her own skin - a musical giant of a talent just discovered and now, so polished. This is pure singing at its finest ; restrained, soft and tender as it should be, and yet finished with a combination of power and grace in the climax. It's not that loud, hard climax the way most singers belt out in their efforts to sound big and powerful towards a song's end; Susan's nuanced take here just matched the entire persona and exceptional feel of the lyric. I am in complete awe now, just having watched this, late but not sorry - because she not only made it all her own - a hallmark of a truly great singer - it was the way in which she completely understood, then improvised and commandingly delivered the tune so honestly, purely, and beautifully, without overdoing things. I love her simplicity and un-pompous approach to singing. Thank you Susan. :) Anyway what I wrote was just utter rubbish compared to her : listen with your eyes closed, in a nice, quiet place, uninterrupted, and you'll perhaps understand why she's such a singing diamond, if there were such a fitting analogy. thanks to Susan i have started singing again. My joy and love is music. I am glad her dream turned out. Like her i sang as a young person in comp and television,but life changes for people and dreams can get lost. I am so glad for Susans talent as she inspires the rest of us to try! Bless her heart. Susan is actually singing the Eva Cassidy interpretation of "Over the Rainbow" from 1992. If you haven't heard of any of Eva's songs, look them up. She passed away, but left a great collection of songs and had a brilliant voice.
