Absolutely beautiful bike my man 👍 i just pulled my TL road racing bike out of retirement after sitting for 20 years. I must be going through my mid life crisis LOL. Im going to get it track ready and do some track days

Love the year 2000 styling with the red horns in the front. I had the GSXR750 from that year which also had that styling and I loved it. The GSXR 1000 came the year after so it sadly had a different graphic style.
I never got to own a TL1000R but I did order a plane fare ticket to go pick up one, but the morning of my flight I got a text from the seller that his brother had borrowed the bike and totalled it. I was so bummed out, because at the time it was very hard to find a good used one, and that's when I just hopped on a GSXR1000 K3 instead because they simply were way more common and easier to find.

I had one of these, was a monster bike, I bought a chip that plugged in under the seat and my goodness it was sooo fast and torquey. Chopped it in for a brand new vtrsp1 Honda, supposedly tweaked by HRC, it was a moped compared to the TL

Engine sounds ticky poss valve lash or cct issues?
Not an issue. TL's are nicknamed 'Ticks Loud' for a reason. Besides I have had valve clearances checked/adjusted and valve buckets changed, I think three years ago.
It's ok. She idles pretty nice after that maintenance. But yep, she ticks, as do all TL's... ;-)

Mines ticks just as loud. just a thingy of the engine itself some have it more than others.

Well, that question/answer is a vid on its own. Last winter (after 6 years of contemplating it) I finally got around at doing it. I ordered a spare (donor) headlight (TL1000R or TL1000S) and removed the projector out of that one. On the European TL1000s, we have one projector for the dim light and a reflector for the high beam. Cut a custom bracket out of plexiglass to hold the projector for the high beam. Ordered LED-rings and LED-bulbs from Aliexpress. Ordered a smoked TL1000R headlightcover from Powerbronze.co.uk and attached it to my headlight, after cutting/removing old one ofcourse. I'll make a vid about it with the pictures I made in the process last winter. It's been done by alot of people back in the day (TLplanet, TLzone and TL1000.net). I know there are/is an FB-group dedicated to this mod. I think it's easily doable, but you need to take your time and go with the flow. If I could do it, with some online searching and improvisation, anyone can make these. I think it took me around 12 hours (done over several days) in total to make it from start to finish.

Well, she has a few GSXR-parts. I don't see it as a problem, more as an enhancement/improvement. Keeping it original, is something I left behind a long time ago... :-)

They're still on the bike,just painted. Very expensive aftermarket and nearly impossible to obtain these days, since the bike is so getting so old.
