Not much the older hotels can do about the size of the bathrooms. Small is how they did them back in the day. This was a nice looking remodel for that small space.

I spotted a legend at 04:28, Mr. Anthony Curtis! If you want to know about gambling (specifically advantage); AC is the person to talk to. Although, I suspect he prefers the buffet to the new food court. Video poker it's important to pay attention to the pay tables. The ideal pay table for bonus poker is 8/5 (coins for a full house/flush). You were playing 7/5 bonus poker. Invest in a video poker simulator to ensure you are playing the optimal strategy and practice, practice, practice. The royal flush in my pic was on a 9/6 Jacks or Better (99.54% expected return) at a Chicago casino. Luck favors the prepared.

We were just in downtown the week of 1/15/23 celebrating my 65th birthday. We always get comped at the Golden Nugget. During our stay we visited the new Fremont food hall. It was so nice, clean and fresh. We enjoyed our favorite, Steak n Shake food. I just wish the Freemont had better minimums on the table games. We are 5-10 dollar gamblers. Thanks for your review!

Was that The "OG" Anthony Curtis (famous card counter and publisher/host of the Las Vegas Advisor) throwing away trash at the food court @ 4:27? That dude has been bringing Vegas junkies all the news from the dingiest casinos to the palatial palaces of the strip since before the internet! I believe he also advises Mattress Mack on his sports bets.

I've never stayed downtown because I thought the hotels and casinos were a bit of a low end experience. But with more of these videos I watch, I'm thinking I will give downtown a try. Plus the strip is getting expensive.

I use to be a snob about downtown till I started getting offers for rooms & tried them out. Now I only stay downtown! I have more fun & the money lasts a lot longer. Slots are looser & comps add up faster downtown & our rooms are always free. The only food we pay for is our Dunkin donuts & coffee in the morning 🌅!

If you are staying in Vegas in the winter non pool season and just going to gamble and drink and on somewhat of a budget then you just want to stay somewhere in a good location. Not sure I'd do the Fremont unless I was getting a real bargain but everything is so close downtown it really doesn't matter where you stay you can walk across the street to gamble unlike the Strip where across the street can be a 15-20 minute walk sometimes.
Ruby, please review the Downtown Grand sometime. Have heard its a small but underrated gem and nice with low room rates and cheap table minimums.

Hearing you say the old downtown hotels don't have pools makes me think of how exciting it must have been when the Strip built it's first hotel with the big pool out in the back yard. WOW. Then very soon after the second resort was built with an even bigger fancier pool. The hotels on Fremont must have seen a severe drop in customers at that time. It's so cool to think of the incredible excitement people must have felt with being able to swim in beautiful pools for the first time in their lives probably, in beautiful surroundings, because I get that same excitement and wow feeling when I go into the Mirage pool!!!!!!!!

I chewed each bite, but couldn't chew through the toughness and had to spit it out. Left a pile of chewed meat on the plate. Couldn't flag down a server, so just left hungry. Prime rib may be better, but I'm not anxious to go back.

I stayed at the Fremont over 10 years ago with my daughter. Our bed was on the floor. The closet was a hole in the wall with no door. The bathroom looked like a crime scene.😂😂 I was ready to go when we arrived but my daughter just loved it.🤯 The room was $19. That $99 is a huge jump!

😆😆Over 10 years ago? Heck, back then you could probably get a Prime Rib dinner for $3.99 and table minimums were $5. Covid changed everything.
